R 8 - Encore - Gives JSU the victory W - Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South. Great song selection, sound of the band seems to be changing in terms up upper brass. As long as JSU stick's the system used at warm up - trumpets will toughen up. TnSU - Btones - Trumpets and balance. Great program, always has been, can't wait to see what the season brings. Classic song selection seems to have faded off of TnSU, and although you received complaints about your book in the past, it might be time to grab a few oldies for the 5th.
I’m not an HBCU graduate nor never desired to go to one but have mad respect for all schools!!! I’m just gone say this both bands did a very good job and worked tirelessly!! I’m not dissing on anyone of these bands but people be really hating on JSU

Just by analyzing this 5thqtr. I come to conclusion that all bands in the HBCU’s are always after JSU neck. My opinion on JSU is they’re very masterful and strategic on the song selections they play towards other bands because they know they have them under their feet. JSU tubas are the best dam section in the “SWAC” that’s a lot of power. I love how they throw the bait out and reel you in and “Boom” it’s CUT THROAT!!!
I would have to say a draw, although and I don't know if this was just me. But It kinda felt like some of JSU's arrangements was rushed. They sounded a bit too fast for me. This just IMO, but a very underrated battle!
I'd give the W to JSU but not by much due to the fact that TnSU did indeed bring their A game. Really wish they would change conferences. SN, JSU needs to play "I Like" at the same tempo they played during the halftime against BCU.
Jackson got a lil cleaning up to do but they got the W by a lil bit only Imo Tnsu was sending that shit right back but some of the arrangements were kinda meh. Mid season Jackson is going to be viscous tho those GODDAAM TUBAS OMG! Tubas gave them the edge alone and idgaf what nobody say about one section f dat, them tubas got them W, and the arrangements too, dat last song ooohwee!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

E. j. Its called evolution. The arrangements are different and more complex now. So the band must control their energy, breathing, and sound. I rather the boom sound clear and strong rather than overblowing and notes all over the place.

TNSU edges the W. JSU arrangements are a lil more complex than usual but they didnt articulate them the best. TSU was crisp, clear, powerful and nice song selection.
Jackson State gets the W for the 5th Quarter. Why would TSU just leave like that? The only thing comes to mind and preparation. They were not prepared. Everyone is looking forward to the 5th quarter and for you to just leave the stadium was horrible. I personally thought that it was boring. TSU took to long to respond and play after Jackson. The halftime performance goes to Tennessee State. Jackson show was horrible and basic. Both of these bands lack total musicianship in my opinion. Now JSU arrangement of, "I like it" was everything. Arrangements are so important. It doesn't matter how many people you have in your band. Southern U remains the GOAT at this point.

Both bands are amazing... Both bands sound has improved greatly but there's only one who sets the standard and you all know who that is... FAMU!!!
