I'm convinced that it's not only us humans who feel stressed, anxious and depressed. I live by the seaside and every day see how the sights, sounds, smells and feel of the beach influences how dogs behave. I'm never quite as exhilerated as them, but it serves as a reminder that it's healthy to be outdoors and getting close to nature in its purest forms. Possessions and technology don't matter a great deal to animals, but we value them far too much even when they make us ill. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, I too love the process of photography even when I fail at it.

We can certainly learn a lot from our animal companions, as well as the wildlife that we live alongside! With photography, I find watching the moment through my eyes alone is more important than taking the picture, so live in the moment 😊

You making this video and speaking so openly about something that many of us struggle with in silence makes me so happy that I started following you so many moths ago. I am so very proud of you and you should be proud of yourself. You are a wonderful photographer, but even more important, you are a tremendous human being. Keep being strong, one day at a time.

It's a very depressing world and you don't have to be diagnosed with anything to feel down
Fair play to you for what you're doing and keep it up. I can't be easy but you're getting there 🙂👍

Hi! You have a new subscriber! I could really relate to a lot of what you were talking about. I too have suffered with depression for a number of years, and getting out in nature, particularly with my camera really does help.😊

Amazing video. Its true it has improved my mental strength as well. Since in Corporate world so much politics which disturbe me as well. In Bird & wildlife photography you get relaxed and get time to undetstand the nature well. I have not yet explored the Micro & landsacpe photography till yet.

Wildlife photography can be frustrating, I know I’ve been doing it for 35+ years. Mainly it’s luck, being in the right place at the right time and the odds of seeing something extra fantastic or unusual is directly proportionate to the time we put into our hobby. I honestly think everyone has mental health issues at some point in their lives and it can be a dark place, I’ve learnt to realise that to be happy and content we need to live more in the moment, just like wild animals and birds do. They have very tough lives compared with us humans, survival for them consumes pretty much all of their time! Don’t dwell too much on the past, that time has gone, enjoy life as it happens and don’t worry too much about the future, none of us truly know what’s in store , life is full of surprises 😀. Don’t watch the news too much, it is used to bring us down and make us unhappy in my opinion. Make the most of time, it goes fast I’m 61 now, it seems just a few years back I was in my thirties! The best things in life are free, celebrate more what we have and realise that many in this world many, many people have literally nothing, or live in war zones or have severe injuries or medical problems, those of us who have relatively comfortable lives owe it to ourselves and others to make the most of our opportunities, we should thank our lucky stars, get off our backsides and enjoy life cos we only get one go! 👏👍😀
