Freddie Mercury, Queen's (late) lead singer was a fan of opera, ballet, choir music, classical music, showtunes... it was his extraordinary vision of making a song that was a 'mock opera' in 1975. He wrote the basic structure, and then just kept adding layers and layers of vocals in the studio until this grand sound emerged that made 'Bohemian rhapsody' a stellar track and masterpiece. This 4th Queen album 'A night at the Opera' was one of the most expensive records ever made at that point. At the time, there was concern cos the song was 6 minutes long, it may not have been suitable for radio... but Queen persisted and it got such a massive response that a music video was made to promote it. When you know what the song is about, and who it is written for, it becomes easier to understand, and all the words make sense. If it makes you cry, pulls an emotion, it is even better. I'm 46 years old and roughly a good 35 of them since a was a child due to circumstances in my life I have fought the temptations of committing suicide. About the only reason that kept me from killing my self is thinking about the pain that my mom would suffer from that. I knew other family members would also suffer but the one I really didn't want to suffer was my mom. That part that says "if I'm not back again this time tomorrow carry on" reminds me of those times when I came close to doing it and wishing my mom just carried on with life as nothing really mattered. Needless to say I have shed more than a few tears listening to this song
Beautiful reaction, its reactions like this that make me appreciate reaction videos. Getting to relive all the emotions something can evoke through someone else's lens. The songs brings many to tears, the art and science of sound and music perfected for the world to appreciate.
Most authentic reaction I've seen in forever! This masterpiece has the ability to twist your emotions from the inside out, you can't stop it and it's very OK! I'm very sorry about your heavy heart, I will pray for happier days for you and your family! A hug to you, from someone far away who cares! 💞
Loved your reaction. This one was wrote by Freddie Mercury (the lead singer) and it was basically 3 songs put into 1. It starts with a ballad style which moves into opera style and then to a rock section before finishing with the ballad style. As for the meaning of the song, that is highly contested and different people have their own understanding of what is meant in the song. Freddie would never say what he wanted the song to mean, he was one to let the listener have their own opinion of what a song meant. The other members of the band are: Freddie Mercury, (Lead Singer, Piano and rarely you will see him play Guitar); Brian May (Lead Guitar, Vocals and the one with the big fuzzy hair, it is like that even now); Roger Taylor (Drums and Vocals); and John Deacon (Bass Guitar). As for songs to listen to there are too many but a good start is the Live Aid 1985 Concert Set which is 20 minute long with 6 of their songs. There is a 7th song with just Freddie and Brian which they did later in the night. Songs there are: Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio GaGa (song that Lady Gaga got her name from), Hammer To Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. The extra song being Is This The World We Created? Other songs Another One Bites The Dust, It's A Kind of Magic, I Want It All, No-One But You, Bicycle Race and about 100 other great songs.
Wonderful heartfelt reaction to this great song. I will say that this is probably the furthest thing from disco as it can be... Thank you for doing this one! Have a great day!

To create that harmony of voices, to replicate the opera chorus, they re-recorded the tape 36 times without ever missing a note. In 1975, there were no synthesizers, computers, or autotune. It was all pure talent!

As a young person who has been a Queen fan for much of their life it is always hysterical to see people's reaction to listening to the transition for the first time.
Bohemian Rhapsody. In case the meaning is lost in translation, a Bohemian is not just someone from Czech Republic, it's a person who cares about nothing and lives for pleasure and stimulation. "Rhapsody" is a style of classical music, here's a definition I found: "Rhapsody is a piece of music of indeterminate length and with no formal structure, comprised of a number of different musical ideas. A Rhapsody is all about dynamics: light and shade, high and low, loud and soft, happy and sad… It’s a story, a journey and usually quite the musical ride." The person being depicted in the song took their Bohemian lifestyle too far, killing a man just to see what it felt like, and now regrets his choices.
I’ll help you with the members the front man’s name is Freddie Mercury, the guitarist’s name is Brian May, the bass player’s name is John Deacon, and the drummer’s name is Roger Taylor
“We will Rock you”/“We are the Champions” Song runs together is another one of their great songs which is played quite a bit in a lot of sports activities because of the words. Great reaction🙏🏼🌹💕
Bohemian Rhapsody is pronounced as "Bo-he-me-an Rap-so-de". Queen is a British rock band formed in 1970 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano John Deacon - Bass guitar Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals Freddie is the composer of Bohemian Rhapsody. He never explained what it was supposed to mean or what his thought was as he wrote it. He wanted each listener to decide what it meant for themselves. He did admit that it is composed of 3 different songs that he had been writing but could never seem to finish. So he decided to mash them all together and add some bridges and transitions to make one song.
great art, the best stuff.. the truly legendary pieces... they connect. that is what they do. they connect us to each other, connect us to ourselves, connect us to the artist, connect us to something higher. and if there's one thing freddie knew how to do... it's connect with the audience.
How wrong the record labels were! Bohemian Rhapsody was at No.1 in the UK singles charts for 9 weeks in 1975 and it achieved the same feat for a second time in 1991 following Freddie's untimely death from AIDS.
Please don't feel sorry about crying! Tears are good when it comes to thinking of dear people and family when they are far from us. Missing our parents is a sign of love! Great song, great band, great Freddie!!!❤
Somebody To Love - HD Live - 1981 Montreal queen at it's absolute best... you wont ever hear even today a band sounding as good as they do the didnt even have Auto tune back then... can also check out love of my life live again in rock in rio concert singing to 250,000 none english speaking crowd who sing back the lyrics perfectly.
The clue is in the title. A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality. An air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation make it freer in form than a set of variations. The word rhapsody is derived from the Greek: ῥαψῳδός, rhapsōidos, a reciter of epic poetry (a rhapsodist),

Queen was the first group to use video effects in their music video and the first group to do a 6-minute song of this kind with the opera put in grate reaction.😁👍
This is the very first ever rock opera. Freddie was a genius. He was also dying of Aids, which is what the lyrics are about.
To create that harmony of voices, to replicate the opera chorus, they re-recorded the tape 36 times without ever missing a note. In 1975, there were no synthesizers, computers, or autotune. It was all pure talent!
Is that the NYC skyline tattooed on your arm?! That looks amazing!
When I was in high school, my social studies teacher subscribed to PRAVDA. It was fascinating to me? It offered a glimpse into a world that I had never seen.
That was many years ago. I think that I was the only one that read it. It was translated into English. We also recieved Television of Monty Pythons Flying Circus,
from England. It was SO cool, to see and learn about others cultures. I wish you well.
Hey, Irina
You were pretty close with the pronunciation of " Bohemian"
The "O" was a long "O" , thus it'd be pronounced "Bow-He-Me-Ann"
Love your very honest reaction to lyrics that are obviously ringing a bell. Glad you caught the changes in mood and tempo. Queen was very unique in their day and very progressive. They have a large catalog of great songs one or two others similar to this one. Enjoy
Just think of it, almost 50 years old. Great composition.
You mentioned at one point that it sounded like an Opera well the name of the Album this song debuted on was called "Queen A Night at the Opera" and the correct pronunciation of this song is (bow · hee · mee · uhn rap · suh · dee).
Don't apologize for your sensitivity, it's beautiful!
Queen is one of the best. And you are very stunning woman ❤️
Great Song writers leave their struggle's on the table for you to relate it to your world , so don't feel bad about getting choked up thinking about your Family , which Reaction videos are so interesting seeing how people React and Relate it to their own Lives
Hi Kitten iv not been well so I have not seen or listened to you for awhile. But I'm back and I noticed your getting more beautiful than the last time I seen you. And when you cry I cry. I hope your life is going fantastic because that would match how you are. I send you my love and a hug from Ireland. This world needs more people like you. 😇🐈💐
Of course you've heard it, it's timeless!
As a young person who has been a Queen fan for much of their life it is always hysterical to see people's reaction to listening to the transition for the first time.
music that moves you is a wonderful thing
Great reaction🙏🏼🌹💕
even if you dont know queen, you KNOW QUEEN the songs are iconic
its no surprise that its operatic because this song is from thier album ":A Night At The Opera"
Bohemian Rhapsody is pronounced as "Bo-he-me-an Rap-so-de".
Queen is a British rock band formed in 1970 consisting of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano
John Deacon - Bass guitar
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals
Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals
Freddie is the composer of Bohemian Rhapsody. He never explained what it was supposed to mean or what his thought was as he wrote it. He wanted each listener to decide what it meant for themselves.
He did admit that it is composed of 3 different songs that he had been writing but could never seem to finish. So he decided to mash them all together and add some bridges and transitions to make one song.
great art, the best stuff.. the truly legendary pieces... they connect. that is what they do. they connect us to each other, connect us to ourselves, connect us to the artist, connect us to something higher. and if there's one thing freddie knew how to do... it's connect with the audience.
love your reaction love your emotions, beautiful
Everything about this song and video was ahead of it's time. Freddie wrote this years before Disco.
Record labels said the song wouldn't sell because it was too long to play.
How wrong the record labels were! Bohemian Rhapsody was at No.1 in the UK singles charts for 9 weeks in 1975 and it achieved the same feat for a second time in 1991 following Freddie's untimely death from AIDS.
Next year this song is 50 years old. But it is still the greatest song EVER written!
One rule - never never never stop the guitar solo))))
Please don't feel sorry about crying! Tears are good when it comes to thinking of dear people and family when they are far from us. Missing our parents is a sign of love!
Great song, great band, great Freddie!!!❤
Beautiful human reaction. Bless you
This was made in 1975 and this was the first ever music video, they were way ahead of their time.
You mention it sounds like an opera and this song actually came from their album ' A Night at the Opera'. Very famous.
It's okay , I shed tears with you everytime you tear up
Your reaction is very normal I love it
The clue is in the title. A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality. An air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation make it freer in form than a set of variations.
The word rhapsody is derived from the Greek: ῥαψῳδός, rhapsōidos, a reciter of epic poetry (a rhapsodist),
Good music can touch lots of people. Great music touches everyone in a unique way only to them. Queen wrote great music.
You are listening to a musical masterpiece ! Freddie Mercury maybe the greatest male vocalist ever !!
Try listening to it without stopping it. You'll love it any more.
Want to know what kind of geniuses these guys were? Between the four of them, they had seven college degrees. For example, the lead guitarist has a PHD in Astrophysics; his doctoral paper is quoted as a source in other scientific papers.
This started out as 2 songs, and they wanted to make a rock opera. This is what they created. It was voted the best rock song in the past 100 years of rock...
Awe...love your reaction...your are a beautiful soul....here is a song that will honestly touch you ....truly madly deeply by Savage Garden...thank you sweety...
