Literally just bought your last copy on Amazon right now. I have to wait till Tuesday to have it in my hand but I so can't wait. Thank you so much. I feel like its a dream come true. I want to be a voice actor so bad. I hope 29 years old is not to late to start.
ahhh I've always been a big fan of yuri lowenthal! He has that type of voice u can immediately pin point and know "yeppp, that's him!" or maybe it's just me being a creep looool xD
This is what I want to do. These tips are like gold. Anything I need to do to improve my skill, I'll do it. The first job I had in the booth was amazing. I wanted to stay there. It just felt right. Thank you. I'll go get the book. :)
I do think that for those actors that don't want to get constantly recognized by people nor memorize a lot of lines nor be followed a lot by paparazzis that this is the ticket to having a good job in acting.
Happy Birthday Tara Platt. UR beautiful. I love Boruto Naruto Next Generations, Naruto Shippuden, Sailor Moon, RWBY, Bleach, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Kanokon, Halo 2, and SoulCalibur IV. Awesome. Halo 2 is awesome, Halo is my favorite game. Naruto Shippuden, too. I respect and support u! I love u Temari, Karura, Lisa Yadomaru, Yukihana, and Setsuka. May the Peace be with u Temari Nara, Karura, Lisa Yadomaru, Yukihana, Jennifer Nocturne and Setsuka. From Harlingen Texas. June 18, 1978 June 18, 2022 through June 18, 3022
Hello I really appreciate your sharing. I am a new voice actor with a burning desire to take my skill to the next level*. My question is: How do I act in a more realistically *resonant and compelling way when reading in the situation where the script isn't memorized? While I recognize room for improvement, my voice acting realism with memorized scripts is relatively good. For example, I've noticed that after I've analyzed the script, I begin to live the character and to feel his intentions as he interacts with other character(s) within the story. In fact the more I let go and imaginatively live the stories, I find that I'm even beginning to feel the characters' sensations bodily (breathing, tension or relaxation etc...) which further impel realistic vocal variations in my pace, pitch, power, and emotional tone etc... However, while this is all good, there is a problem: This realistic acting does not happen to the same degree when I'm actually reading the script. It happens when I'm beginning to memorize or have memorized the script. These two modes of acting (memorized versus reading) feel very different in my mind. In fact, when I've realistically acted a memorized script, and I then try to act it when reading, the script seems to interfere with my acting and the result is not as good. So again my question is: How do I act in a realistically resonant way when reading or when the script isn't memorized? My challenge seems to be (and I could be wrong): I have difficulty being fully immersed in or connected to the theater of my mind as I read. As I said I'm a voice actor with a burning desire to take my skill to *the next level*, and I would deeply appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks
see, that's the kind of acting I need to try to get into, because I've always been the actress type to want to try to direct JUST SO I can show off people who can act in other characters that others don't give them the chance to do… I love seeing people at their best when it comes to acting, etc. and love to cast a movie in my own mind knowing an actor can fully well do the part or would 'fit' the part better than the typical actor…. like Joe Pesci or Al Pacino for a mobster. Yeahhh of course. Typical. But have they ever thought of Hank Azaria as being a mobster. IDK I think I'd fit well into the work of voice acting, since I'm not into the red carpet crap or the paparazzi but get such a thrill out of making voices and accents and can't help but act it out at the same time. For a girl, I used to do a lot of "Ace Ventura" impersonations when I was a young teen, and kids going "hehe that's so cool" cuz it wasn't just the voice, it was the whole thing. To really sound like a character, sometimes, you have to twist your face up or do silly stuff to make the voice sound right; and other times truly acting it out and doing odd motions with your hands is what helps the voice come to life. SO fun. =)
i... don't see a lot of acting happening here? it just sounds like people reading lines. there's a big difference in acting quality between... most english dub actors for anime, and... actual voice ACTORS like Family Guy, Simpsons, Archer, Powerpuff Girls... but I guess it gives me hope as someone interested in the industry but w/o any acting experience
Considering that most terrible voice acting is the fault of nepotism, it's not surprising that his wife voices the female counterparts to many of his characters.
Respectfully, why wouldn't producers of Asian animations use Asian actors? I see this idealizing Westerns in Asian depictions of themselves, including 3D art. I commend the voice actors but question the level of self respect or lack thereof of a brainwashed culture.
Lillian It's always satisfying to "match" race of the actor with the character, in part due to possible genetic differences in vocal folds, but is very difficult when on such a large scale. "Asian animations" in Japan use a large handful of English-speaking actors for English-speaking characters, yet it is extremely difficult to match for race, even moreso when for a black character. You are also sounding as if these companies have the *money* to procure proper actors in the first place... Dubbing circles in America basically have: 1. Stephanie Sheh - Chinese. 2. Kaiji Tang - Filipino. For one thing, I am also *sick* of Lauren Tom & Andrew Kishino playing every other Asian character in A-list VO circles, & they should also play non-Asians. I'm not even sure if Chinese, Japanese, Korean, & other East Asians are of the same "race". ...my point is that it would be impossible to split all of anime English-dubbing by 5, 10, or even 50 actors. *In fact*, there are about 50 mainstream actors TOTAL in LA's dubbing circles. The Japanese *themselves* do not market it to mainstream audiences. It is in fact *their own fault* that they can't attract a proper talent pool to dub their stuff into English. also "whitewashing" In the Marvel anime, the "white" characters interact largely with Japanese characters, & are voiced entirely by a Japanese cast, even though there are a large handful of native English-speaking VO actors in Japan. They also turn Wolverine into a bishonen of sorts - he's even voiced by a tenor, whereas in most native portrayals, he's a gravelly baritone - Marvel recently said "Steve Blum=Wolverine for life". All German dubs are voiced by German actors. French by French actors...you get the drift. It's not a matter of discrimination - it's practicality.
My dear lord she's so pretty.

+Nahro yep..
Do you think an actor who won't play certain role coz it's too daring or too opposed to own political views is a good actor? Is that a legit excuse?
Respectfully, why wouldn't producers of Asian animations use Asian actors? I see this idealizing Westerns in Asian depictions of themselves, including 3D art.
I commend the voice actors but question the level of self respect or lack thereof of a brainwashed culture.
+Lillian
Find me at least 1000 trained voice-over actors in Los Angeles, let alone a majority who'd work for low-end dubbing wages...then we'll talk.
***** That's the job of a casting director. There are always excuses for whitewashing.
