Press the pistion of the brake caliper into it so it can slide on your router's easy.. u can use a old brake pad or block of wood with a c clamp to compress the caliper pistion then when u slide it on pump your break pedal to get the pads to press on the roter pimpin love u n ya vids
Wait did you replace the brake pads cause usually you suppose to after changing the rotors and that's why you were having trouble cause you have to compress the brake caliper piston back

You might find a cheap measuring calipers in one of those bins that are in the aisles of hardware stores. That would have given you your 36 mm info. If you ever get into milling you will want a good metal one.
For my s14 the brake calipers you have to rotate the cylinder instead on compressing it. Idk if that was ur problem but yeah I almost thought I had to buy a new caliper.
