Olivia is the only one who goes neck to neck and toe to toe with Elliot.
I got more butterflies than Liv did when Elliot asked her to Christmas with his family. This is so beautiful. I love the evolution of Olivia and Elliot’s partnership and friendship

Also she is a great mother but .. she is also a mature single woman and I really think she has met her soulmate in .. Rafa. This confident somewhat arrogant man has met his equal in her and he in his way has gone to bat for her in ways Eliot never did. Rafa is the man who will support her throughout her working life and at home .. hopefully forever. They're not just work colleagues but friends who have already supported each other although not always amicably. But .. they are soulmates .. writers please make it so!

That’s not the real reason why he left. He wouldn’t have been held responsible for that shooting. He left because he realized how much in love he was with Olivia and couldn’t deal with those feelings anymore. He couldn’t deal with the temptation of being beside her every day as her partner and not being able to be with her. He chose his family over her and yes he should have told her, but he couldn’t tell her the whole truth because it would hurt them both more. So he left. He’s coming around now to realizing it’s okay to love her and he’s accepting it and moving on.

How would you feel if the person who you shared so many life or death experiences, who you trusted and cared for just dissappeared, he could have been dead for all she knew, in the decade apart she even was close herself to death more than once. It's not like he owed her over his family she knows that but he knew she had no one to rely on, that she felt abandonement before. I agree that his real reason to leave was because of his feelings for her, he couldn't sustain It any longer and he decided for his duty over his heart but she never knew that, and then he gave her a letter which said what they were to each other was never real, It must have been something she thought along 10 years and he confirmed that insecurity and then he returns and says he didn't write It. I love them together, I root for them because it's clear how Much they love each other but even I have to admit how much pain Elliot has caused her, even if he didn't intend to, she outright deserves to call him out on his actions and have hesitation. Fortunately he listened to her and is trying to even the field because she indeed has been there to support him disregarding whatever happened between them and now it's his turn to be there for her.
