My wife and I saw Vince Gill and this lineup on tour, shortly after he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for "When I Call Your Name." I was totally blown away. Vince had it all: Great material, voice, and his holy-smoke guitar playing. As his career progressed through the '90s, his songs and vocals increasingly took precedence to the point where his guitar virtuosity became a best-kept secret.
This was an amazing broadcast of ACL. I taped in on VCR and wore the tape out from watching it so many times. I went out and bought my first Telecaster after seeing Vince tear it up!
I’m a huge country music fan, so I was super excited to see that Vince Gill was performing on Austin City Limits in 1992. I was even more excited to find out he was performing with Alison Krauss and Union Station. I’ve been a fan of hers for years. They did such a great job that I’m still listening to it 30 years later. Gill also joined Trisha Yearwood on stage that night to perform "Lonesome Dove." That song was actually from one of Yearwood’s first performances on Austin City Limits. It was a great show and I would highly recommend it to country music fans.👍
