    Wow, flaps didn't retract till ~5 minutes after takeoff. Must have been filled to the brim!

      Didn't notice this myself, it's incredible! They told us that the plane was so heavy that we'd have to cruise at a lower altitude for the initial segment of the flight!

    Very very nice video, Shamrock! Loved the near 270 degree climbing left turn from DXB. Fantastic aerial view of Dubai, including the Burj Khalifa! Happy landings.

      ShamrockGoldCircle Yes it had, but no wifi. I did 161 back in march, took163 this time. possibly doing 164 nxt month so stay tuned for more vids and enjoy your last week in OZ :)

    • @ShamrockGoldCircle
      @ShamrockGoldCircle  8 лет назад

      777cpt Ah alright then. They appear to have been sending older long-range 77Ws on EK163/164 and newer regular 77Ws on EK161/162 in recent weeks. That's just a broad trend though and there have been a number of exceptions. It's a pity they're not sending A380s to DUB yet. They're a dream to fly on!

    • @777cpt
      @777cpt 8 лет назад +1

      Agreed they are a dream to fly on, soo smooth and graceful in the air. when dublins new runway is completed emirates will upgrade frm 77W to the A380 for sure. I flew out of Dublin start of last month on A6-EPF (162) it was only 5 months old but had no wifi

    This plane looked very heavy, long takeoff roll and slow climbout. Awesome takeoff

    So quite, the engine was quite or the window make quite? Or both?

    • @ShamrockGoldCircle
      @ShamrockGoldCircle  8 лет назад +2

      The engines are just very quiet. Bear in mind this was a 13 hour flight and it was 30+ Celsius in Dubai so this was a high power takeoff. It just goes to show how excellent the passenger experience onboard an A380 is!

    • @Steven-xu7ls
      @Steven-xu7ls 8 лет назад +1

      +ShamrockGoldCircle are you sure? I think, if the temparture is hot the engine N1 is running high

    this aircraft has the first class?

    • @ShamrockGoldCircle
      @ShamrockGoldCircle  8 лет назад +1

      Yes it did! On 3-class Emirates A380s Business and First are located on the upper deck, while Economy occupies the entirety of the lower deck.

      It was just a stopover at Dubai airport. It was very hot, it might be somewhere which would take a while to adjust to living in!

    • @airbusthreethirty3416
      @airbusthreethirty3416 6 лет назад

      And the hot outside air temperatures/high density altitude doesn’t help either. As some others have said, this was a long, slow climb out of DXB.

      If you visit Dubai you'll see A380s everywhere! The engines are giant but very quiet, even for this 13 hr flight to Australia!

    • @airbusthreethirty3416
      @airbusthreethirty3416 6 лет назад

      Regardless of what the A380 sounds like, Emirates is the world’s largest operator of this type. 777’s as well, if I’m not mistaken. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
