"You never feel like Oda is winging the story", and what's even more impressive is that he very much does improvise a lot, famously all the supernovas were created days before their introduction
That’s true! I think the line is there between winging and improvising, but he did a great job to salt them all in without having to go too deeply into them, and only later when a plan was established was he able to show their relevance to the story.
That point about revealing connections was pretty great
Thanks! I think it’s my favorite part about word building. Nothing gets me more excited than when you learn about something that gets revealed and it’s just a drop the mic moment revealing a connection. Info dumps about a world are addictive.
I know it’s hard to keep an upload schedule when you have a job and trying to make a living but Whatever you do, please don’t stop putting out videos. RUclips is filled with nonsense videos on manga, comic books and movies analyzing the things we love but nothing as good as what you produce. You’re not wasting your time when you create these because someone benefits from them (you’re analysis helps my script writing).
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. That means a ton to me. An yea, unfortunately the real life job causes some hiccups in actually putting things out consistently, but I like to think I'm getting better with it (at least on my end, you guys obviously can't see that).
I'm putting the final touches on another script, and then all I have to do is edit and record that bad boy! My goal is to get the video uploaded on the 12th or earlier, so hopefully stop by again!
@@PanelFlow sounds good. I subscribed so hopefully RUclips will notify me of any new uploads from you.

Made in Abyss has someone the best if not the best world-building in all of anime/manga in my opinion and I think that's because it gives you details that may not make the biggest difference in Riko's journey but are certainly fun. It's also written in a way that makes you ask questions, but also assures you that answers will eventually come. I don't think every question needs to be answered ever or at all, but the answers that are given shouldn't break the rules of how the universe works. It's also one thing if, say, a detail changes because characters were lied to and they learned the truth, but it's another when a retcon breaks continuity or the universe's rules and what's been previously-established.
World-building for a fantasy or scifi can be hard and intimidating, especially if you worry about someone finding a "flaw" or "loophole" that "ruins the whole thing". Imo as long as twists and changes can be explained and don't destroy the universe, they're fine. As long as you have the major, unchangeable holy commandments figured out, minutia of "well they could just throw the demon into a volcano" arguments could be chalked up to "it was within the character's knowledge and abilities". "Why not just use guns" being dismissed with "the protagonist is afraid of them" is as valid as "guns don't work on demons" as long as the character finally shooting a demon with a gun can be explained.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about made in abyss, it’s still very much on the top of my list to watch.
what the value of this video if you dont mention HxH
