Empowering Tomorrow: The Critical Role of Child Care in Texas Communities

The lack of affordable, high-quality child care options is a serious challenge for many working parents statewide. And it’s not just a burden for Texas families - it’s also an economic development issue. Prioritizing early childhood learning and enhancing access to high-quality, affordable child care in Texas helps create a strong future workforce and keeps the state competitive.
At an event co-hosted with the LBJ School of Public Affairs Urban Lab, Karen Brooks Harper, the Tribune’s health and human services reporter, talks with experts about the work necessary to address the challenges associated with child care across the state.
