Im 80hrs in, playing on hard as i always do even tho im no great strategic player on any genre i just like a challenge, and genuinely i have clearly been playing it wrong for all those 80hrs. Your tactics here and in other vids are next level, i been struggling on the arena and taking ages on killing big machines using so many resources…until i found your channel. I usually steer clear of outside help and find my own way, but having found your advice, having looked for some high level help on elementals initially, im enjoying the game so much more now. Just wanted to say thanks 🙏

Imagine getting 4th place and finding you didn't record it! 😂 I love this game but still stuck in Zero Dawn tactics ie traps were rubbish and you could freeze almost everything. Excellent tutorials by the way.
I don't know how useful your tips for ultra hard play will be useful to my novice ass, but I imagine there could be some application to my new VH playthrough. After losing to the Tideripper boss in Kappa cauldron on Hard I restarted on Normal, intending to study the mechanics that I'd been ignoring. Now I've learned how to use valor surges, weapon techniques and the new weapons, and they helped a lot! But once I'd reached San Francisco, I discovered a new problem. Horizon had gotten much too easy for me! I distinctly remember seeing the Gloomwing for the first time, then taking it down in minutes. What a shameful ending for a magnificent boss... So I've restarted again on Very Hard, and the burrowers are interesting again! I imagine the resource economy will be too. Let's see how this goes...

I kind of hate the trap cheese where you gotta place them right under the nose of the machines but I definitely love smoke bomb and laying traps afterwards in general. I've only beaten the Predators once out of maybe 30 tries now and it took only 12 minutes 😂

Very nicely done! My own Apex Predators win was sloppy, but atleast it was done lol. I have a question and a bit of info to share (unless you already know about it xD). I already managed to one shot four types of heavy machines today, thanks to what I've learned from you and Mr.PantsFancy (lol). Would you mind if I give you a shoutout in these videos' descriptions once I've uploaded them? I wouldn't have figured this out so fast without your videos. And about the info; I've tested and can confirm that you can Knockdown (Apex) thunderjaws and Fireclaws and, atleast at the first attempt to, Slaughterspines with only three arrows using the Knockdown Shot ability on their legs/paws! It costs all your stamina, but Aloy should have a drink for that ;p.

Hi, your 4th place video is fantastic! I am not as good as you, but I am convinced that with further improvement of this video, you can definitely be ranked #1. I have been checking the ranking every day and I noticed that you have been moving up the ranks from 8th to 6th to 5th. I also found out why you did not post any arena after Dreaded Encounter. Your arena fixed weapon videos were very interesting. What was somewhat disappointing was that there was no 1st place video. I am sure you can win it. Do you aim for it in APEX PREDATORS? Or is there a more likely challenge?
Thank you! Yeah I could probably get #1 if I grinded any of the challenges long enough, but I'm actually not super interested in doing that. It's enough of a grind to get top 10 or top 5 and my main motivation for doing it was to get proficient enough to make a good guide video for each one. I'll probably make sure I stay in the top 10 or top 5 for each challenge if I fall down the lists, but I'm not sure I have the time to grind for #1 any time soon. Too many videos to make! lol
Thanks! Actually, you can’t choose the outfit, weaves, or weapons in these fixed loadout challenges. That’s what’s “fixed”. Everyone is forced to use the same gear. The outfit for Apex Predators is the Tenakth Vanquisher. I had the look of a different outfit applied in this video (Carja Stalker Elite), but the active outfit stats were the Tenakth Vanquisher.
I believe the developers should have followed the RATCHET & CLANK arena formula, with enemies being released in waves without any health drops. It would have changed the arena into more of an endurance challenge rather than the glorified super-hard hunting grounds it is now!
Oh yeah totally. I think something like that would be a lot more fun and also force you to use skills that you'll need elsewhere in the game. I literally never use traps outside the Arena lol
Very Hard. Killed the Scorcher, fire arrows got all the cannisters to blow up on the Thunderjaw, put all bombs into it's weak points some even after freezing it, I'm running out of all ammo, it walked over a set of 4 elite acid traps, still only half it's bar gone... Aloy died, so mad.
I find the smoke bombs severely lacking. In my view they don't even confuse the machines most of the time and/or do not interrupt any attacks. And if so, they it last only a couple of seconds. I guess that loadout with weapons I am not too good at doesn't help either. Haven't even beaten the time on Easy as of yet. Very frustrating!
how did you elite acid traps kill the scorcher? mine wont put him down at all... after 5 elite traps even.. even if I put down advanced acids on top of elites, theyre never enough to bring their health down significantly
Yeah I agree it's the least RNG based one. Actually requires skill for most of it. I don't like that the meta is still traps, but at least it's not so luck-based with machine position, etc.
You're probably too close or in front of their eyes. Sometimes you can't get all 4 down no matter what, but it's likely because you're a little too close.
@@ArktixOfficial please release a PC playthrough of apex predators in ultra hard. Because traps and canisters are broken in PC version. Besides, it seems like machines are much more aware in PC version. Waiting for your video.
Did you craft them on the platform? If you don’t see them, you need to buy 1 from a merchant first or loot one from a chest in the world to unlock their recipe.
Yup. The optimal strategy has altered slightly since you now start with fully charged Valor Surges, but it’s basically the same. However, keep in mind that the Arena on Very Hard can actually be harder in some ways than Ultra Hard. That’s because Aloy gets a damage boost on UH to help compensate for the much higher health of the enemies. On VH, she does not get this boost.
@@ArktixOfficialI think what it was was I just didn’t have the same traps equipped. I didn’t really use the traps all game so I neglected them. Must have forgotten you could change them in the wheel. It was the same challenge though

why i cant used the acid trap in this battle
Do you get less resources on lower difficulties? Because I'm playing on the regular difficulty, and I couldn't make more than 5 elite traps, I think.
Yup it's only 5 elite traps. The other 3 acid traps are advanced ones.
I always forget to use my damn traps lol
3:40 running + 4 traps and still they dont attack (my max trap is 2 without running if lucky 3 but most of the time 2 )
How come i have my advanced acid traps outside the arena but not inside? It's got a tick mark next to it under inventory, tools.
Anyone else thinking I'm not made of metal shards when you keep dying and redoing these matches😅

Hmm. They need to be pretty close. 4-5 traps should be enough if you can get them close enough.

i dont see how you place four traps down when you smoke them.... they're always attacking me again when im placing the 3rd.

You must not be playing the same challenge then. It's a locked load out challenge. The loadout is always the same.
