Thank you for sharing! That was a great conversation. When we first began homeschooling we had a ‘seasoned’ homeschooling family that offered many great suggestions that served us well. The mother and father were both former US Navy officers so they ran a tight - but happy - ship :). One suggestion was to simply have the kids wear chinos and polo shirts and skorts for the girls if desired (from French Toast for example) so that they were always dressed neatly and if they had to go out during the day for doctor’s appts etc the kids looked sharp. For some reason I have never met a little boy that doesn’t feel ten feet tall when he puts on his own belt :). The other was to create chore lists for everyone which encouraged team work and a sense of duty and responsibility that complements the training that one is doing in school.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and ideas! They sound like they helped quite a bit in your homeschool. Keep up the great work that you're doing!
What a delightful episode!! I was inspired afresh as a teacher, administrator, and student. Thanks to each of you for all you have done and are doing to help us work and learn with purpose and rest with confidence.
Education is a gift and demands responsibility. I needed to hear that.
Tanya with comedic relief in the midst of Paul washing eloquently about gravitas! Thanks for not cutting that out - picture perfect!
We loved that moment as well! :)

I’m using the Preschool program this year and I have my son dress in uniform. I’ve found it helps him transition from play time to school time.
Uniforms are a great way of dividing the work time from the play time! Thanks for sharing!
Wow that's a great idea.
