@@therichbuddha3277 I don't read music...but I learned a lot by not overplaying...I had a very cool Jazz sax player tell me "say it quietly" and it it will be heard.
Heck… I’ve been listening to Larry Carlton since I was 16 on Steely Dan records.. I’m now 64 and still love his touch… damn those Sire guitars look good!!!
So sad to see. I watched a bunch of Larry's demos of his line of guitars...and it seems that he is having some difficulty playing guitar at all..much less at the high level for which we know and love him
I don't understand why other Gibson competitor brands can't make headstocks as beautiful as the one on the Sire. From the shape to the logo. It's all gorgeous!
I was walking thru Tampa International Airport in the 70's and Larry walked right pass me and only then did I realize who he was! He was traveling to his next gig!
Yes, the music speaks for itself 🎼🎵🎶!!! Great conversations 🎸⚡💥🔥💯!!! And the fun of playing always shines through 👌🏻🤩🥰. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Cory Wong 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻!!!
I have the H7 Vintage Antique Sunburst and good to see Larry performing with his own brand. It warms my heart to see the possibilities. I'm waiting for the H7 F and will receive it early 2025 I hope!
I worked at Valley Arts guitar in the repair shop and custom guitar division.Larry was in alot. Ive had him play 2 feet away from me several times. His touch was always amazing.
That’s cool that you got a response from a young person. It seems like fewer and fewer kids at church are interested in music and especially in guitar as time goes on.
I am 74 and was inspired by Larry in 1968. I have always been very melodic as a guitar player and would love to have him critique my work. I never published anything because I never had the confidence. I am sure he could take come of the melodies I have and make them into something special. It would be so cool to present them to him.
I wonder if the great Mr Wong would be prepared to admit that he KNEW that, in the jam following the 4 notes, Maestro Carlton broke the mode 4 times? 🤣Hey, we ALL break the mode in pure mode contexts now and then. Two great masters! Thanks for posting. 🎶🌟🌟👍
Sounds like Gmaj7 to Eb/F, which is sus sound. Over the Gmaj7, he bends with D as a target note. D is 5th of Gmaj7, then he’s targeting a simple root position G triad. Essentially a Gmaj9 . Same idea over Ebmaj7, can target Eb and F triads, I’m also hearing a F7, so might be why hearing Cm triad, on Dom7 play minor triad off 5. Larry gets to the extensions, quickly.
Nothing but total respect for Larry Carlton and his career but I find that today young players even at the age of 15 that have hit the woodshed are just incredible. I really think kids brains are just so fast with information and memory. Players today do things I couldn't even dream of. But I guess every generation should inherently advance quicker. However Larry is one of a kind. Heck I still can't do the tough Larry Carlton stuff today LOLOL
So smooth. I can’t believe it’s not butter.

...like a criminal under cover. 😅
🤣
Unlike so many artists who only do a RUclips promo and photoshoot, I appreciate so much LC actually plays his Sire signatures live.
thats not true at all
@@sose6255 what exactly?
@@MrNagroz Many artists not actually playing their signature models. he is just stigmatising

great guitar......i own it...
The amount of space in Larry's playing is a lesson in and of itself.
All feel and no technical chops 😢
@@eviltomthai no. the technical chops are all there, but serve the feel

They really ARE Foxy! S7 and H7V here.
Yep, got my H7V in vintage, just awesome!
There'll never be another Larry Carlton! Love his playing.
I love Larry. I’ve listened to him for over 40 years and he’s still awesome.

@@RickMcCargar That comes with Parkinson's but even with that he's still better than most of us will ever be.
This was the first thing he played in the session and it was truly magical
The Carlton touch is still there!!! As smooth as silk!!!

Any headstock is better than a Gibson headstock. 🧐
Maybe because of stupid brand rights and potential lawsuits.. 🥺
What's wrong with the 1980s Ibanez Artist headstocks? I like my 335 style AS 200 AV (similar to the John Scofield model).
D'angelico guitars have gorgeous headstocks

I went to your store a lot in the 80s. I even took singing lessons there with a teacher named Ashley.

So good.... goosebumps
He is my favourite guitar player ever. Such classy playing...
That’s years and years of wisdom in every note he plays .
Even when Larry hits wrong notes it’s heavenly. Man has such an identity!!
Saw him last year. His son played bass in Portsmith, NH.
He is a gem.
You had me at Portsmouth, NH. Cool!
Good god, that this world class feel right there! Such a god.
Truely a gift.

Those Larry Carlton Sire guitars are spectacular.
Carlton is one of the most amazing musicians I've ever heard. He makes it seem so easy.
A true master of his craft.

Genius. ❤
Larry looking like he's about to send us to Heaven's Gate with those bends!
Nice Master, congrats
I was stressed out about something when I started this video, but after the first 2 riffs I've seemed to have forgotten all my worries.

Wow. Just.............wow.
I got to hear him in concert here locally. It was like a Time Machine. It took me back.
Perfection!
The economy of space in his playing is excruciatingly perfect.
Larry Carlton, Jay Graydon, Amos Garrett and Louie Shelton
They are among my favorites
Thank you Larry!!
Larry is definitely the GOAT!

Brought back the first time I heard Room 335! He instantly became my favourite player 😂
Wow!
Damn that's it right there bro!!

I had one of those Sire Larry Carlton models. I couldn’t get comfortable with the skinny neck so I gave it to my grandson who loves it.

Great use of dynamics, some notes are spoken, some are whispered to draw you in.
