Kam Heong (金香) recipe uses NO lard la. Also, look at shop sign 9:54 "NO PORK, NO LARD". Not just "salt/sugar", but also taucheo, soy bean paste (豆酱), among other ingredients, which gives the dish its dark colour. 🤦♀
Kam Heong style gives very strong aroma from stir frying curry leaves, dry shrimps, garlic and chili padi. This dish was created in Klang Valley, I think.

Since chinese cuisine in Malaysia is based on southern and Cantonese style, oily stir fry dishes will only be frown upon. Some of the best Chinese restaurants in Malaysia serve dishes with almost no oil in its plate due to skill. In many part of China dishes can be very oily due to its unusual economy development and popularity of Sichuan cuisine.
