Just picked up one at maker fire. I was waiting but it didn't become available when it was supposed to. Luckily your video reminded me and I saved a few buck with your code. Thanks Nick! I can depend on you to give us honest feedback.
I like the sexy one, perfect for thumbing, or at least that's about what I learned on. I think the pretty one is about 249.00, I'll have to go with the plain model myself, lol. Thanks
You can change the stick tension, and between mode 2/1 by opening the back. Gal Kremer checked with them, and opening the back doesn't void the warranty, either, as you have to remove the back to put the module bay on it. Great review as always Nick!
I pre-ordered this in December hopefully I will be getting it soon. I'm a girl I have really small hands I use the tango 2 with the multi-protocol module to pinch but it still feels giant. One of the coolest things I found out with the open TX/freedom tx is that you can actually transfer all your bound quads to the new radio you don't have to rebind everything. When I was using the t16 I transferred them all over to my multi-protocol module in my tango. As you scroll through the multi-protocol options there's one that'll say FR sky x cloned. On the new radio you find the same thing hit the bind button and it just sucks all the information over it's the coolest feature. Have to do it for d8-d16 but only once.
By the way, the holes on the top are for mounting a folding screen mount, which they provide an STL for. Oh and yes there are spring tensioners and throttle adjustments available on those gimbals
Great value! I wish it had a momentary switch for pre-arming though. I think the biggest downfall is being limited to 25mW when it’s used with an external Crossfire or R9 module.
I watched this last night and before t had finished ,I placed an order. Been wanting this for a long time and considering most of my 5" are all Radiolink, this will do me just great. The other Jumper models , don't actually say they do Radiolink but this does.
Oh, that's good to know! Very good comment, my friend! 😎🤘 I'd like to know what that feels like, Nick, having another battery attached to the Crossfire module, when it's mounted on the back of this radio. 👍📻🔙
For the price, this radio is INSANE value. I mean its got everything. Hall gimbals, integrated charging, 4in1 multiprotocol, and expandability with a screen and (albeit limited) xf/tracer/ghost/whatever lite bay module. This will definitely be the budget standard going forward into the future of FPV. Great informative review as always!
@@NickBurnsFPV yeah that's what I meant by the limited expandability. Kinda sucks that it doesn't work as is, but there are better radios for crossfire anyway, this looks like it's not aiming for the kinda market that would get crossfire
@@NickBurnsFPV yeah I think that overall it would be better if manufacturers could maybe like "license out" their technologies to integrate into other systems at a cost. (might not be that realistic in the real world scenario though) Like if frsky could integrate first-party ACCESS receivers into whoop boards, as the d8 ones sadly don't work with ACCESS radios. Or as you said, tbs integrating their tech into other radios. Might take that idea a step further, and it might be a bit too outgoing. But if tbs could strike a deal with happymodel for example to integrate xf receiver technology into the aio boards. I feel like both parties would benefit from something like this. No more compatibility hate to frsky, and better control over how the receivers function, and it would allow the whoop manufacturer to gain access to a previously unreachable market of ACCESS users. Same thing with xf/tracer integration. Both companies would gain access into each other's customer base
@@Vitroid Oh in a perfect world, where companies can work together. Seems like FPV companies are pretty fierce competitors. One day they might see the benefit.
Good review, informative and concise. Thank you for that. I have the T8SG which has been more workhorse and rather reliable after swapping in Walkera gimbals. Based upon that I ordered this radio. From your review one gains more confidence in opting for this transmitter. Thanks again.
Wait a minute. So what you're telling me is I can actually get a decently good quality radio with multiple protocols for under $100?? So awesome! I've had the FlySky i6 for years and any higher quality radio always seems to be a $150-$250+ endeavor. Plus all my BNF quads have FlySky since I have that radio so it'd be nice to get a radio that can help transition to a better protocol while still being compatible with my existing quads!!
Yes, that is my opinion. I think they did a nice job, I do think I missed the point there isn't a way to hang a lanyard/neck strap on it. Could be a deal breaker for some. We could likely design a 3d print to solve that.
For crossfire users, this may not be the radio for you. You can't run the TBS Crossfire nano at full power without an external USB battery bank. Just heads up! This will likely apply to other external modules like Tracer and Ghost.
Well reviewed Nick. Jumper rocks. The shoulder/elbow position comparison was key. The T-lite is a step forward. Please if possible follow-up with your continuing observations. I would also like to know about using crossfire with this and if there is speaker noise. Maybe the new speaker location helps. Shots of your hands using the transmitter are helpful. Thanks for your continuing support to the FPV world!
good video! I also like the gamepad style controllers.. My Jumper T16 has never been used in 18 months, because I am married to my XLite. However my XLite still has its original firmware, so it still works with D8 and whoops and my old D8 airplane receivers. I would also like it is TBS cae out with Tango3 with large colour screen, Para bluetooth trainer, etc. The trouble with the Jumper T is it runs on only 1 18650, but I need more endurance using 2x 18650 with my Crossfire module on my XLite (whic can go to 2 watts). Also I do use the pots and internal antenna on my Xlite which the Jumper T lacks. I wish the XLite was as small as the JumperT though.
Very nice review Nick. I Just noticed my tlite shipped today now I am getting more excited about it. I was really bummed about the external module power limits but when I found out that you could power crossfire nano modules via usb-c I was much happier.
Looked like the perfect radio for the guerrilla ops, so . . I'm still waiting mine to be shipped. It's small enough to fit my one pack grab bag and it has a lot of potential for modding too. Also, it's good to see Jumper didn't just give up to the Radiomaster but kept innovating and brought us this radio. Cheap, feature packed and even has trim buttons. What's there not to like . . is probably what we will find out down the line. But as it sits, it looks like a pretty decent small radio.
@@NickBurnsFPV True, though they've refrained it to 100mw is supported if you have good batteries. Officially only 25mw ofc so they don't get into trouble. I fly Flysky so such a restriction doesn't really do much to me 😊
Glad this seems to be another good option. I don’t need a bigger screen so Tango 2 screen is perfect for me. Agree that roller can be a pain selecting menu items. Weight never crossed my mind but my Tango 2 with IRange MPM installed internally is 270g. Just 23g more than Jumper. I get what you’re saying about your Tango 2 feeling heavy. That’s a lot more weight. The 23g of extra weight in mine compared to Jumper is over double the battery capacity which I’m very happy to have.
Right now, I am still switching back and forth between this and the tango II. Part of me leans towards the tango as I know how much I spent and know the faces that money goes to. The other part is just which works best for me. Strange evaluation.
One thing I'm liking about the design of the radio is for the sim. I currently have the tango 2, and I kind of pull it against my belly when flying, and the position of the USB port makes it uncomfortable while simming. This one looks like it's got the USB port in a proper spot so it doesn't get in the way while simming
This could have been such a great product, but with the severe limitation of only 25mw on a crossfire module from the 1s battery means this is just a waste of great components to me. I’m amazed Jumper released a tx with a module bay expansion in the box that doesn’t let you use modules to their full power. I’m very disappointed and so glad I didn’t preorder this since there was no mention of this severe limitation. Thankfully Gal Kremer covered this in his review, I’m sure if you could fly outside you’d have found out about this secret limitation that makes this a waste of quality components to me. I’m going to have to disagree with this being the best budget option and recommend the Jumper T12 Pro over this to anyone with an interest in using the module bay. Thanks for the review and stay safe.
Agreed, too much hassle to run a separate power to run crossfire module. Not sure if this will be addressed in their next version and pls add a neck strap ring. If it had these two, I would pick one up.
@@matiheilenkotter7169 it doesn’t support the use of a crossfire module at any setting above 25mw so you can’t use the full potential of the module bay. This review by Gal Kremer shows it and explains it better than I can ruclips.net/video/BE1Lcvru7-I/видео.html Any transmitter that supports the receiver you are using can control the quad regardless of size.
@@maadfisher great, but is the 25mw limit like bad ? or not enough? I currently have a flyskky fsi6 and im thinking in buying this controller bc is smaller, is it worth it?
Thanks for the review! I've been waiting for this radio for a long time! Ever since I got BetaFPV LiteRadio2, I know this form is best for me. I pre-ordered the t-lite on December 1st 2020, it's on its way (1 day ago 😁). Now I use a tango2 with iRange 4in1, like You... 😀😀😀
Good video Nick, such a cool radio, but the lack of a JR module bay is a non starter for me. I Would love to have a backup/portable radio to complement my tx16s, but I fly ghost....
I like the fact that this radio will allow me to fly just about anything when it comes to receiver choices but what I am buying a binding flight copter which receiver should I choose
Just ordered the 4in1. Regarding the limited support for external module, there might be some mods that we may do to increase support. People are talking about this on rcgroups.
I love the price and form factor of this radio. A fair bit disappointed in the power an external module. I run crossfire and that is definitely a deal breaker for me. Hopefully jumper addresses the power issue! Thanks for the video Nick!
Looks like a solid option for new pilots getting into the hobby on a budget. I'll stick with my X Light and multi module for now, but the review had all the important info. Thanks!
@@NickBurnsFPV Yeah, thankfully that hasn't been an issue for me personally. I either fly in D16 or DSMX. If D8 is used as often as you do, I don't blame you for making the decision you have.
Fantastic review, Nick!!! 😃 Pretty interesting little radio! It's tempting! 😃 The 25mw limit for Crossfire with the internal battery is a bummer, but still... A power bank solves it... So... I don't know. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
@@pikachua6449 just read through the thread on rcgroups. They marketed full crossfire support, after pre orders started they said limit of 100mW. Just before ready to ship date announced 25mW cap on internal battery. But its ok, as you can hang a nice powerbank off your compact radio. Why should they fix there errors??
Another great review or at least look into a new product. I have the Tango 2, bought the BetaFPV LiteRadio for some Whoop options, since I don't have the Multiprotocol box yet. (also going to be kids first tx) can't complain for the price, but the sticks are toy like. maybe I'm spoiled with the Tango 2... but I'm not convinced the Tango 2 is the best first radio. until Multiprotocol is built in. This looks like a great option.
Bought it. Says 16ch. Can you use the trim button as switches? or means connects to D16 but its 8 channels. ? Sucks though doesnt work with R9 Lite.. and Crossfire nano limited to 25mW. Someone said you can run the nano from a USB-C and run higher power. But I dont know
+1👍 hmmmmm, maybe not as good as i thought... guess i'll stay on my xLite for awhile. i prefer how the xLite has hidden-internal antenna as default. thanks for the POV! i may have missed it, but i did not see/hear the mW output
Be interested to see how this compares to the Radiomaster T8 pro. The main issue with this radio as mentioned by other commenters is the limit of crossfire output power to 25w on the module bay when powered by the internal battery. That said, 25w on crossfire should be fine for any micro quad that most people fly. The thing I couldn't understand with the radiomaster T8 was why they made the screen removable? If I have a nano crossfire plugged in, then I can't use the screen? Why would they do that? Will you be reviewing the T8?
I'm sure they will release an upgraded version of this radio, it might be called "jumper tlite pro". I will wait for that before I get this radio. Nice review!
thanks for the review. Is there a kind of workaround or way to attach a neck strap? not definitely for holding it while flying, mainly for hanging it while talking in the field....... can the two front holes dedicated to the external visor can be also used for this? I'm still waiting for mine to come (preordered as many of us in december) so I'm trying to get the most from the review of others that already received it.
new frsky firmware doesn't have d8 mode. spi receivers on whoop boards need d8 mode for decent range. Those whoop boards that day d16, have very limited range...less than d8 mode.
I loved your comment "Maybe that's just an old thick guy thing". Lol 😅 A Very good example about how the box radios kinda make your elbows pinch your side. No Doubt! Where the game style radios angle your arms out, causing your elbows not pinch your side. I've not owned or flown with a game style radio before, so that observation was interesting to me! Thanks Nick! I also really liked how you showed how your fingers fit on the radio, between the switches, as that is super important to have a place for all of our digits. I've never considered buying a game style radio, but after this review, and hearing the price, I'm thinking about it! *SUGGESTION:* I have converted to Crossfire for some of my quads, but the majority still use XM+ or R-XSR receivers. So, it would be essential for me to see the Crossfire module attached to the back of this radio, and get your personal opinion about how it feels having it attached, how your fingers fit with it, and how it works with Crossfire. Also, how sturdy the module is, once attached. Overall, I'm really interested in this radio *only because it CAN ATTACH the Crossfire module*, so hearing how you like it with it attached would be of great help to me! Thanks Strike Thrower! 😉🤘
I have to rain on the parade a bit. 1. I would need to buy a crossfire module, you know how challenging that can be. 2. This radio only support crossfire 25mw without external power. I suspect that will be deal breakers.
@@NickBurnsFPV OMG....After all the time you've been in this hobby, and you don't have a Crossfire module? Wow! You're missing out on how good FPV can be! I thought I had it good, then I used their exchange program and sent in all of my R9 receivers and the module to TBS and get 50% credit towards their Crossfire module and I got 4 nano receivers in the trade! Couldn't beat it. The technology they have is incredible, and so easy to use, and upgrade firmware, etc. They certainly get a 10 out of 10, and no one else gets more than a 7.5 ! It's that far ahead. R9 gets a 3! You've gotta get into Crossfire and see how far they are ahead of everything else! I don't do long range either, think that's Mavic boring-similar crap, I'm like you...buzzing around as fast as I possibly can... luvin' the RUSH, but the strong link and ease of use is worth the upgrade. Plus, as a prominent reviewer, and top of your field, you should have it! ;)
@@NickBurnsFPV Oh, co0ol! I thought you didn't have Crossfire at all. I should have known better! Ha! Yes, FrSky has done this to themselves with their goofy plan to alienate all of their customer base. The guy who thought of that should be fired, if he hasn't already. What a stupid fiasco!!! :(
This looks exactly like the betafpv lite2 mold. I have the BFPV lite2, jumper T16, Tango2 and have flown others. Tango is my go-to. Form factor is superior (for me.) the thing I don’t like about the BFPV (and probably the Jumper) are that the switches are small and are uncomfortable for me to use. That’s the same reason I don’t like the DJI radio. Switches kinda hurt, because I *FLIP* the switches. lol. The jumper T16, my fingers don’t fit well between the top switches. Apparently, switch comfort is key to me. Lol. The Tango is king but Taranis and Spektrum radios are pretty comfy too. Informative video as always. 👍
Looks like the mold changes are for the sma antenna, usb on top, the two screw holes on top and the buttons on the face, multi module holes and the speaker. Holding the t-lite "feels" bigger.
seems like if you're using crossfire, you can't go higher than 25mw while using the transmitter battery, if you want to go higher you need to plug a usb power source into the crsf module
Great review Nick, thnx for pointing out! Had the radio in mind but I'll stay with my X-Lite_Pro ; ) btw the normal x-lite can D8 protocol just not the Pro, without the extra module. Was watching your review but what really caught my eye was your vid in the corner, how sharp & clear it is ; ) Take care ; ) BetaFPV has a 3. gen controller & there is still no display. But that what I've always know from the chinese, a bit stingy...
Gday Nick, awsome transmitter i started with the evolution flysky from hobbyking very similar form factor but limited firmware and also limited to flysky rx's, this one looks great so far 4 in 1 module as well as being able to use crossfire price is very good, great work mate.👍🛸
That's a nice small Opentx radio. Full fledged multiprotocol. Nice and inexpensive. Please slap a Crossfire in the back and tell us what you think. Most of my models run Crossfire.
Unfortunately I don't have a crossfire module. This unit does limit crossfire support. I see today crossfire is limited to 100mw or 25mw, unless we use a power bank.
No neck strap mount. We will likely have to 3d print something, I don't see anything available yet. There is a little pilot screen mount for it., I know that doesn't help but does indicate others are looking at making designs for it.
I am just getting into FPV and ordered a BetaFPV Advanced Kit 2. I am having stick jitter issues with the included Literadio 2 transmitter. I would one of these transmitters fit in the BetaFPV case?
I like meat in my hands! Lol. I’ve been so tempted to buy my first game control style radio. I’m using a 6yr old x9d but am finding myself hitting my range limit with it. I’ve been holding off in hopes that the tango will release one with a nicer screen but this radio you are showing with the tbs module could be a great combo. Great review as always. Thanks!
It says on the product page that it's a 16 channel radio. Throttle, yaw, roll, pitch, four 2/3 position switches. That's 8 channels. How to use the remaining 8 channels?
@9:57 i love it she helps out and flips your tiny whoop My girl just starts laughing and doesn’t even touch it other then that last time i wasgoing around the house and I accidentally ranned straight into her tight witch got her scared and mad so she kicked it 😔
So what's your initial feeling about the gimbals compared to the X-Lite and the Tango 2? I have an original X-Lite as you do and my biggest gripe is the shorter throw on the gimbals. Also, not a fan of FrSky changing the protocols either, so I'm considering the T-Lite. Please do a follow-up video in a couple of weeks once you've tested it more. I'm very interesting in knowing how this radio works out for you.
My opinion is the gimbals are more smooth than the x-lite and on par with the tango II. My x-lite has many flights on it, the tango II only a few months on it. I will continue to use and and post a follow up.
Thanks for that video Nick. One question: if you compare this with Xlite, how does it feel, better worse - ignoring the fact that Frsky is ditching D8. Thanks for the answer.
I think the frsky x-lite sits easier in my palms. The rubber on the back of the x-lite also helps to keep the position in the hand as we fly. Some of this could be the weight difference.
Can you comfortably move the sticks all the way? Without moving your hand? On my TX16S I get hand fatigue from moving the throttle up and down since I have to move my hand around.
Yes, this is one of the struggles many have using the entire stick resolution of a radio. But with the smaller form factor of this radio it is much easier to reach those end points.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thank you for your input. One thing my old FlySky radio got right, was the reasonable amount of stick throw. I miss that when flying the sim for an hour.
Hi Nick, which 18650 is, flat or protected? I've heard neither of them is good but only a 18650 pointed fits well 🤔 I thought anything was fine, such as Sony vtc5 or vtc6
@@NickBurnsFPV message from Jumper 1) It is recommended to use a pointed top 18650 battery 2) If uses a flat top 18650 (65mm) battery then it is needed to break apart the battery shrapnel to a suitable length 3) 18650 with protected top can not be used on the radio.
@@manwithgutz We don't want to trim the throttle on quads, we will end up with arming problems. Probably what your looking for is a throttle cut, I believe there are several videos on this topic. What it does is reduce the throttle sensitivity.
Hi Nick, I just found your channel. Stoked to find someone who pinches on the X lite. Xlite is sorta like my benchmark. I'm mostly a fixed wing or heli flier, looking to move from box type radios and deciding between the Xlite Pro, T-lite, and the Tango 2 as my first Lite' radio and foray into OpenTx. Ergonomics for pinching, ease of using OpenTx matter. Could you weigh in on this??
I think the xlite is a bit more comfortable and lays easier in my hands than the t-lite. Frsky has kinda done the micro quad fpv community dirty. They removed d8 protocol which many micro quads have. The only way to get it back is to use an external multi protocol module.
Hi, just received my T-light. Anyone know how to restore all my old models from my QX7. Backed everything, but when trying to restore to T-light I get an incompatible error.
Hello Nick, as usual your rewiew is great. I have a question, I know that the weather is not very good right now but what about range of this radio? Is it good as Tx16s?
To my knowledge these are the same chips/radios we have been running for years. Some years ago one of my primary radios I did diy addition of a 4in1. I suspect the range to be very very close to the "Branded" radio range. I suspect this as I don't believe these companies would pay the R&D costs to create new chips/radio. Not at the price they are offering the radios for. We can fine tune these 4in1 modules for the maximum range they can provide. I haven't done the fine tuning, but I have seen videos where others have.
Thanks, I just got my preorder shipped, finally! Looking forward to starting this hobby :D Just one question, what cable do I need for trainer connection? I plan on just using a sim for now so I think it's about time I should get that cable xD
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks. But I was a bit confused, I meant just the simulator cable and I found out there is a USB-C to normal usb cable in the package so that will suffice I guess. Thanks for your answer though
@@pixxel8637 oh yes, usb c on this one, the screen will ask what we want to use the usb connection for when we plug it in. We select "joystick" for sim use.
Thanks for all the great reviews, it's always entertaining to watch. What would you sugesst as a first quad ? I've allready thought about an tinyhawk 2/ Freestyle but i've heard a lot about the aio breaking down. I've been practising on Liftoff for about 30 hours now and finaly want to get flying ( Mostly Outdoors).
The tiny hawk freestyle 2 is honestly super fun, great tune out of the box. The biggest down side I feel is the lack of mass makes it fly differently than a 5” for moves that require momentum. They updated the motors and they are more durable, mine has been a tank. They tend to break the base plates by the arms on very hard crashes but I mean hard. Worst part really is the fact that it’s aio and motor pattern is proprietary.
@@sandroroth2520 if you're pretty comfortable on the sim I'd suggest a 4s 3" and run it on either 3s or a throttle scale/cap in betaflight. Not as dangerous as a 5" but very similar flight characteristics. There are tons of awesome 3" frames you can build also.
nice radio nick! i hope you also get the radiomaster t8pro as well... its a choice between these 2 radios for me but ill check the reviews on the t8pro to be fair... being the t8pro has internal antenna thats a big red flag for me... thanks for the great work bro!
I'm very surprised to hear it might be your favourite over the expensive tango 2! Also I would like to know if it has adjustable spring tension once you take it apart?
So apparently T-Lite won't connect to any of my v1 D16 receivers. I had tinyhawk2 set to frsky x connect to taranis in d16 8ch. Wouldn't connect to t-lite. Had to switch to frsky d in configuration. My xm which connected go taranis v1 D16 8ch also wouldn't connect to T-lite. Tried every option. Tried moving rssi frequency adj up and down 50 at a time. Ended up having to rebind to taranis and clone the taranis. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Tempted to try it again but holding and button and pluging battery with one hand is annoying lol
I have not seen that issue as I move more of my quads over to the t-lite. I copied my d8 model profile and then renamed to d16 and change the protocol to d16. I didn't change anything in betaflight or otherwise, last week I bound another xm+ and R-XSR. Very curious its giving you fits. I don't suppose your taranis is running the new frsky firmware?
@@NickBurnsFPV no I'm on v1.. so I used frsky x .. d16 8 channel. I wish was easy to upgrade xm and try v2 and use frsky x2 I wrote Jumper about it but their on vacation for the next week

I was waiting for this review, so thanks Nick! I am thinking of switching to this from my old literadio 2 with worn out potentiometers. I have a question though: do you feel like there is more resolution with the full size gimbals on the tango 2 than with these or is that irrelevant for you and stick length is the only thing that matters in that aspect? Thanks in advance.
They list the gimbals as "full sized", for my I feel no resolution difference. The stick length is more important to me when it comes does to the muscle memory of flying.
the main difference is the grip comfort, I think the x-lite is a bit more comfortable. That is just me. Also the x-lite does have an add on for clipping on a lanyard, the t-lite doesn't currently have that as an option.
Thx for the review Nick ! Imo, a flight footage isn't really a thing The review is about the controller, so recording in an pov style your hands using it for real would be so much more useful Each time I see controller reviews, I wonder if i can pinch and hold the radio well, and each time I don't have a real answer..
Seems like the question is unanswerable, if that's a word, we all have different hand/fingers, and comfort. I think it would have to be held and flown to know for sure if it will be comfortable for each individual.
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks nick, the model has copied but not the bind !? Will I have to rebind every model? And if so that would mean I could not switch between handsets ? Is there any way to do it so I can use 2 transmitters ?
So I can't get my t-lite to connect to xm receiver. I got it to connect to tinyhawk 2 when I switched it back to frsky D.. and t-lite to frsky D. XM I tried frsky x on t-lite. Then D. Then changing channels.. no luck. I had to rebind to taranis then clone taranis. Now jumper wants a video of issue.. ugh.. Can't they just explain what I'm doing wrong.. like do I need new firmware. My receiver on acsst v1.3 or 1.7
It could be a typo, but I see you were successful on frsky D with the tinyhawk 2, we need to create a new model for the xm. I think we also need to have it set to 8 channel. The xm can be a little different, I haven't used one in a while.
@@NickBurnsFPV So I tried Frsky D8 and D16 neither worked.. but im going try again now that i have this push button start quad.. easier to hold button and turn on quad now.
@@NickBurnsFPV current cloned on D16.. what the chances only D16 doesn't work.. so guess frsky D is frsky v1 and frsky x is v2? Or is d for d8 and x for d16?
@@NickBurnsFPV this time it worked.. only 2 things I can think of.. I got a wizard error before making models so maybe that did it. I kept making models till I didn't get an error.. Also maybe I didn't hit the button down when I did it.. but it did take me a few tries to get it to work this time..
I don't have a video, the short version is frsky access (new firmware) doesn't support d8 mode without an external module. The claim is the dropped it as there was a bug in d8. Without d8 mode we can't find to most aio spi receivers we find in whoops and ultralight micros.
X-lite can use external module for d8, tho, right? I'm running a multi protocol module on x-lite-s with some opentx release, but only used with flysky thus far

Just learnt about clone because my t-lite won't bind to any of my D16 v1 receivers. But clone worked
By the way, the holes on the top are for mounting a folding screen mount, which they provide an STL for. Oh and yes there are spring tensioners and throttle adjustments available on those gimbals
Just ordered my first drone today! Should be here Thursday. I can't wait! I got the geprc tiny pro 4k FPS kit.
Jumper announced yesterday that the two holes on top of the T-Lite are for mounting an FPV screen. See their FB page.
True,, I have that noted in the video description before posting.
@@NickBurnsFPV Ah, I missed that in there. I see it now.
Great value! I wish it had a momentary switch for pre-arming though. I think the biggest downfall is being limited to 25mW when it’s used with an external Crossfire or R9 module.
you can add external power supply to power the module for higher output.
@@marinostsalis314 from what I understand, a simple battery bank usb portable charger works right?

The other Jumper models , don't actually say they do Radiolink but this does.
Thanks for the review Nick! I was waiting for a review on this one before i buy one.
Thanks Nick! Still running my X-lite.... for now.
I've been waiting for this! Thanks Nick!
Me to 😊
Something else , if you have a crossfire mounted to it , unless you're powering it externally the power limit on the crossfire is 25mw
Oh, that's good to know! Very good comment, my friend! 😎🤘
I'd like to know what that feels like, Nick, having another battery attached to the Crossfire module, when it's mounted on the back of this radio.
This does have limited power output for crossfire. The one downside I can find
@@NickBurnsFPV yeah that's what I meant by the limited expandability. Kinda sucks that it doesn't work as is, but there are better radios for crossfire anyway, this looks like it's not aiming for the kinda market that would get crossfire
@@Vitroid I wonder if TBS would ever partner with another company to produce a radio with a crossfire as well as a multi module all inside.
@@NickBurnsFPV yeah I think that overall it would be better if manufacturers could maybe like "license out" their technologies to integrate into other systems at a cost. (might not be that realistic in the real world scenario though)
Like if frsky could integrate first-party ACCESS receivers into whoop boards, as the d8 ones sadly don't work with ACCESS radios.
@@NickBurnsFPV yes, that's be a piece of cake! Those places to mount the monitor would probably work.
Will do. So far I have only heard the speaker beep, which doesn't tell us much.
Preordered it in december. Can't wait for it to arrive! I am glad it's up to snuff though
I was waiting awhile for mine, cancel my order from banggood and order one from RDQ.. received it in 2 days
Very nice review Nick.
I Just noticed my tlite shipped today now I am getting more excited about it.
I was really bummed about the external module power limits but when I found out that you could power crossfire nano modules via usb-c I was much happier.
I hope it serves you well. The lower power output is a bummer, adding a battery to run it, decreases the seamless form factor.

Nope, they suggest 25mw Max with internal battery, 100mv with external battery. But you can do 100 on internal...just not for long

@@madsamfpv8590 how do you mean not for long then how long ?
Looked like the perfect radio for the guerrilla ops, so . . I'm still waiting mine to be shipped. It's small enough to fit my one pack grab bag and it has a lot of potential for modding too. Also, it's good to see Jumper didn't just give up to the Radiomaster but kept innovating and brought us this radio. Cheap, feature packed and even has trim buttons. What's there not to like . . is probably what we will find out down the line. But as it sits, it looks like a pretty decent small radio.
Full crossfire isn't supported. Only supported to 25mw or 100mw, mixed reports. So crossfire users might not be happy about that.
@@NickBurnsFPV True, though they've refrained it to 100mw is supported if you have good batteries. Officially only 25mw ofc so they don't get into trouble. I fly Flysky so such a restriction doesn't really do much to me 😊
Too late ,already got the tango 2 pro and loving the folding sticks so easy to pack up. No more switches.
i agree that this is a great entry transmitter for beginners, small and compact, the price,,unbeatable
I gave up my qx7 for a tango and LOVE IT. But I miss having trims for planes and this radio with crossfire on it may be the answer for planes..
Note that crossfire support is limited
This one looks like it's got the USB port in a proper spot so it doesn't get in the way while simming
yes, usb is on top, shouldn't get the poking
Considering the long range modules are now going upto 1w is it that big a deal that you might need to connect a usb c cable to the transmitter module?
Agreed, too much hassle to run a separate power to run crossfire module. Not sure if this will be addressed in their next version and pls add a neck strap ring. If it had these two, I would pick one up.
hey im a noob and dont understand the 25mw problem, can someone explain me why it is bad? Also, can I use this radio in a 5 inch freestyle?
@@matiheilenkotter7169 it doesn’t support the use of a crossfire module at any setting above 25mw so you can’t use the full potential of the module bay.

Just ordered the 4in1. Regarding the limited support for external module, there might be some mods that we may do to increase support. People are talking about this on rcgroups.

i prefer how the xLite has hidden-internal antenna as default.
thanks for the POV!
i may have missed it, but i did not see/hear the mW output
Be interested to see how this compares to the Radiomaster T8 pro. The main issue with this radio as mentioned by other commenters is the limit of crossfire output power to 25w on the module bay when powered by the internal battery. That said, 25w on crossfire should be fine for any micro quad that most people fly. The thing I couldn't understand with the radiomaster T8 was why they made the screen removable? If I have a nano crossfire plugged in, then I can't use the screen? Why would they do that? Will you be reviewing the T8?
I do hope to review the T8, but to my knowledge it has not shipped yet.
I'm sure they will release an upgraded version of this radio, it might be called "jumper tlite pro". I will wait for that before I get this radio. Nice review!
Jumper said it won't void warranty when u take off the back and install the Jr module
Thank you for another fine review.
thanks for the review.
Hi, what are the incompatibility with whoops problems with frsky? Thanks
new frsky firmware doesn't have d8 mode. spi receivers on whoop boards need d8 mode for decent range.
*Same mold but with extra stuff*
Looks like the mold changes are for the sma antenna, usb on top, the two screw holes on top and the buttons on the face, multi module holes and the speaker. Holding the t-lite "feels" bigger.

The t-light might if the sma/antenna connector doesn't get in the way. The switches on top are also a bit longer on the t-lite

@@NickBurnsFPV Thank you.

@@NickBurnsFPV thank you, I appreciate your response and opinion.

@@NickBurnsFPV thanks
Thanks, I just got my preorder shipped, finally! Looking forward to starting this hobby :D
Just one question, what cable do I need for trainer connection? I plan on just using a sim for now so I think it's about time I should get that cable xD
I don't recall the name, but it looks like a 9db cable like for audio.
I suggest staying light. Maybe something like the crux3?
The tiny hawk freestyle 2 is honestly super fun, great tune out of the box. The biggest down side I feel is the lack of mass makes it fly differently than a 5” for moves that require momentum. They updated the motors and they are more durable, mine has been a tank. They tend to break the base plates by the arms on very hard crashes but I mean hard. Worst part really is the fact that it’s aio and motor pattern is proprietary.
Thanks a lot
@@sandroroth2520 if you're pretty comfortable on the sim I'd suggest a 4s 3" and run it on either 3s or a throttle scale/cap in betaflight. Not as dangerous as a 5" but very similar flight characteristics. There are tons of awesome 3" frames you can build also.
nice radio nick!
i hope you also get the radiomaster t8pro as well...
its a choice between these 2 radios for me but ill check the reviews on the t8pro to be fair...
being the t8pro has internal antenna thats a big red flag for me...
thanks for the great work bro!
I hope to test that as well
which one do you people think is better (betafpv lite SE) or (jumper t-lite) in terms of price?
are the gimbals the same distance apart as the one's on the Tango2 ??
no tango II is 9mm wider.
I'm very surprised to hear it might be your favourite over the expensive tango 2! Also I would like to know if it has adjustable spring tension once you take it apart?
I do have an affinity for the small light radios.
@@NickBurnsFPV would be my luck I get factory defect. My smo 4k too I just got doesn't work. Insta wants me to send it back
@@NickBurnsFPV no I'm on v1.. so I used frsky x .. d16 8 channel. I wish was easy to upgrade xm and try v2 and use frsky x2
I wrote Jumper about it but their on vacation for the next week
@@divingfalconfpv4602 What happens if you set d16 to 16channels?
@@NickBurnsFPV still didn't work.. only thing that worked is clone. The x did show leds for right firmware but didn't bind. I didn't only try changing rssi on one setting pretty sure 8chn..
@@NickBurnsFPV nice, I'm just gonna wait some more to see if there are any reliability issues with this. but if not then I'll get one :)
Can i use the 4in1 with all the frsky receivers on the market?
Not all, if it has access firmware it will not work with multi module.
How does it compare to the original FrSky X-Lites? I own two of those and wonder if the Jumper would be redundant or a good backup.
the main difference is the grip comfort, I think the x-lite is a bit more comfortable. That is just me. Also the x-lite does have an add on for clipping on a lanyard, the t-lite doesn't currently have that as an option.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanks Nick. I'll just buy more crossfire receivers, lol.
@@yannickg6904 Oh, the crossfire support is limited without using external power for the crossfire module.
@@NickBurnsFPV One more reason to stick to my X-lites with 18650s. Thanks for the info. 👍
No where for you landyard to hook up too but.
This is try. I wonder if a 3d print will be designed to solve that issue, as they did with the x-lite.
Thx for the review Nick !
Imo, a flight footage isn't really a thing
The review is about the controller, so recording in an pov style your hands using it for real would be so much more useful
Each time I see controller reviews, I wonder if i can pinch and hold the radio well, and each time I don't have a real answer..
Seems like the question is unanswerable, if that's a word, we all have different hand/fingers, and comfort. I think it would have to be held and flown to know for sure if it will be comfortable for each individual.
Hey dude how do I copy my models across from my x7 taranis? I want to be able to use either transmitter . Please advise, thanks
We need to use opentx companion to backup the model file and then restore them to the jumper using opentx companion as well.
Mwaahh yang ku tunggu2 di Indonesia
Sikat bro mantep ini, gua juga udah order dari pertengahan bulan january
I've been inactive for a while. Do you have a video about the changes to lite? Not sure what happened?
I don't have a video, the short version is frsky access (new firmware) doesn't support d8 mode without an external module. The claim is the dropped it as there was a bug in d8. Without d8 mode we can't find to most aio spi receivers we find in whoops and ultralight micros.
X-lite can use external module for d8, tho, right? I'm running a multi protocol module on x-lite-s with some opentx release, but only used with flysky thus far
@@torgeeee That is correct.
