      Idk if u got your stuff but 200 isn’t enough. Your best bet is to get the betafpv controller cheap 50 dollar goggles (pls try getting something better like ev800d). For the quad it leaves you around 100 so. I recommend getting a tiny drone that can do acro for under 100 and dump the rest into extra batteries.

    I have this radio one month ago and it changed my visión completely... little, light, all standard features than a normal user needs, with possibility for TBS module... And cheap.. Very cheap but with decent quality... Is true.. A diode for battery inverted protection is important... But is it a problem for us...??? Yes is true that is not a Tango or other "se mi-premium" radio. .. And in the other side if it drops by accident from 7th floor or to the lake is not neccesary an "harakiri".. Is cheap and has a place in my bag... Thank you for your videos...Best wishes from Spain.

    A quick, cheap & easy source of 18650 cells for this sort of application is USB powerbanks. Poundland here in the UK sell £1 powerbanks containing a 1200mAh 18650 cell, and £2 ones contain a 2200mAh 18650 cell. They both have spot welded tabs on which you can solder wires directly to, or rip the tabs off and use them as loose cells.
    The charging/5v output circuitboard in them can be useful too, I combined a £2 powerbank with a £1 COB LED head torch from there with a custom 3D print into a USB rechargeable head torch which has about 4 hours runtime.

      TX16S is a much better & more capable radio if it fits in your budget. Literally the only downside is it's a standard big radio, so if you want something smaller then a gamepad-style one would be easier. ( I do have a big radio, and want to get a smaller one, but have yet to see a gamepad-style one with enough features for me to want to switch.)

    Hey JB, you might recognize my name since I've been harping on you for this review over the last couple of streams you've done! First off, thank you so much for the review, and all your excellent content for that matter. Hopefully the super chats and Patreon subscription help offset the bother! :D
    I've watched every single T-Lite video on YT and was just waiting for yours as I value your opinion above any else's on YT. I ended up buying this radio (using your affiliate link!) as it seems the negatives will be a non issue for the reason I bought it for. I got it for my wife, who is 5'3" and has very thin fingers and petite hands, so the ergonomics should actually fit her quite well. It'll be her first radio and she'll primarily be flying RC planes LOS, so range issues are not a concern. She'll also need it for simulator work and buddy boxing with me and my TX16S (bought on your recommendation, using your affiliate link!). Anyway, I presume it'll work great for us!
    PS - My theory on Jumper not every releasing a "perfect" version one of their products is due to Radiomaster. RM has been releasing near identical products to Jumper and doing it much better, IMO. That must make Jumper feel like they have to get products to market ASAP in order to get all the sales possible before RM releases a better version!

    There's a reason the xlite originally used 2 18500 cells its very difficult to build a radio that can function off a single 18650 cell reliably.
    A protection diode would just exacerbate the problem even a Schottky diode has few tenths of a volt voltage drop.
    The primary focus of this design was to as compact as possible radio that can do multiprotocol. In this regard there are virtually zero compromises.
    Adding the crossfire bay also is a great extra bonus with compromises that can be worked around until you can afford a more substantial radio.

    I switched from the IR8M to the TX18S and I do prefer the bigger "game controller" style of radio.
    The TX18S is great with OpenTX, the IR8M runs DeviationTX (altho the board should be able to run OpenTX).

    I need to replace my BetaFPV LiteRadio 2 that came with my Advanced Kit 2 due to stick jitter. I am thinking about getting the T-Lite to replace it. I wouldn't recommend the LiteRadio 2 to anyone. Mine had problems right out of the box. Would the T-Lite fit in the BetaFPV case?

    • @toptarantula
      @toptarantula 3 года назад +2

      Sorry, a bit on the late side, but for anyone else, I made the same replacement and am pretty happy so far. It does fit perfectly in the case (with the antenna removed) and has none of the jittery gimbal issues I also had with the LiteRadio 2. A big relief, because if you've only ever used one radio you can't be sure if it's you or the radio. My T-lite is much better (smoother), even in the simulator. I also wouldn't recommend the LiteRadio as it can spoil the experience for a beginner.

    I have used a Jumper T-Lite transmitter multi-protocol for 1.5years, and often fly drones with/without my friends. In general, I feel that transmission distance is shorter. For example;
    - happymodel Mobula6 1s loses the signal around 15-25m without obstacles. FrSky binding.(but expect to reach around 150m) . max RSSI is 75, not 99, strange.
    - BetaFPV micro drone 2s (forgot model) loses the signal around 50m.FrSky binding (but expect to reach around 400m)
    - I have a free style FPV drones (iFlight and gepRC) with air-unit with FrSky XM+. They lose the signal around 1km. (but expect to reach around 2km)
    - In general, I found city sides have radio interfere, and a huge parks without people kinda better, but not significant range improvement.
    Does anyone know this is normal transmission range or too short and something wrong with my T-lite? I hope T-lite has booster option or may just change antenna simply, instead of installing additional kits.

    At least part of the reason they didn't install a reverse polarity protection diode is because a diode drops around .7 volts across it when forward biased. If they used one, then when your transmitter battery was at 4 volts, you would actually be down to 3.2 volts after going through the diode. With 1s power, you just can't afford that big of a voltage drop.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  2 года назад

      There absolutely are ways of implementing reverse polarity protection without passing the current through a diode and suffering voltage drop. Here's a page describing how to work around this issue: components101.com/articles/design-guide-pmos-mosfet-for-reverse-voltage-polarity-protection

    • @keitharoo1962
      @keitharoo1962 2 года назад

      @@JoshuaBardwell Yes, there absolutely are ways of implementing reverse polarity protection such as using a MOSFET as in the link you provided, but in the video you were asking why they didn't just "put in a diode," and THAT'S what I was responding to. But you are correct, there are other ways to do it, but inserting a diode is not practical for the reasons I mentioned.

    I'm waiting for another manufacturer to do it better. I bet it won't be long until the clones come out. 😎👍
    The Tango 2 uses push buttons instead of these toggle switches, which is a hugely better idea. There's barely any room for your fingers if you're a hybrid pincher or maybe for a thumber too, I don't know about flying that way. Also too easy to flip switches accidentally with them so close together.
    I also don't like it being a 1s battery radio. That was a huge design flaw, especially when using a Crossfire module. I wouldn't feel confident flying a long distance with just one 18650 when using a higher power with the Crossfire module. They should have either used two 18650's or a small 2s lipo. To add to that, the screw on module bay seems to be an after thought instead of something nice with grooves to slide into or a bay that's built in, for the module. I think that looks cheap and fragile.
    Some company will do it better, with more quality than Jumper uses, so I'm not buying this poor design. 🤔😕

      @@JoshuaBardwell Yes, you could use a high amp diode with a user replaceable fuse. But your suggestion to use a spring on the negative is great. Not only would that cure the loose battery but the spring on the negative is almost universally recognizable as the minus. Although maybe 2s 18650 would enable the use of a MOSFET to protect the circuit so no fuse would blow. Also cure the power limit on the external module. OR a resettable fuse before the diode. Lots of solutions :) Thanks for the video and I'll be sure watch your review of the RadioMaster when it releases.
