- In today's tutorial video we're going to make an epic steampunk airship called the "Stickleback" for Minecraft! In this block by block tutorial we'll be going layer by layer for every part of the airship so it's easy to follow along.
To help you along with your building there is a visual guide in the resources below as well as link to the discord where you can the schematic for the airship and many other builds.
This video has been a long time coming, I originally intended for this tutorial to be done in December 2021 but had some problems. Sorry it took so long, I made this version of the Stickleback more epic as an apology (it's bigger and has some extra features!)

Changed the copper stuff to red and it looks amazing. I’ll be using this design as inspiration for the rest of the fleet. What a great build.

So I used the VS Clockwork mod to make the Stickleback work, and with a couple modifications (such as an autocannon broadside, tnt bomb bays and a real big steam engine) of my own, I now dubbed my version the Skysword. Skysword now serves as my mobile base of operations, laying waste to any monsters in my path.
It proved to be EXTREMELY glitchy and difficult to control (part of the reason I called it the Skysword, it cuts both ways) and I almost crashed it underneath the bedrock...

This build is epic. I wanted to really challenge my building skill's in Minecraft, & this build caught my eye, I have followed u brick by brick & what i have created so far has amazed even myself i'm about 38 MINS in out of the 1HR 52MINS amazing video dude

I want to say that this is incredible! I absolutely love it, i wanted to learn how to build steampunk style and i must say that this is insane, i am at 1hr 17 minutes and it is insane, now i know hot to make exhaust fans, pipes, and i love the decoration of the ship, i am building it in survival and ive spent around 15 hours so far but it is totally worth it, you should make more tutorial of steampunk style structures, i subscribed btw 🎉

Hey man, just wondering what the dimensions are before I start.
It would be useful for you to build a square on the ground in your new videos to get scaling, especially for the larger builds.

Yeah this was an oversight on the retake. In the original I had a scale square for width and length and height but my PC broke and I lost all the footage so I had to rush to re-do it all. Talking for several hours saying the same stuff twice was soul destroying and I made a couple of small oversights XD Glad you like the build ^^

Not a problem, it's still an amazing build regardless of any oversights and such.
1:00:00 is not what I wanted to hear 12+ hours into the project in survival mode
How do i find materials list new to this
I really like your builds man, a lil tip to grow your channel, if you wanna do such a cool things like build a massive windmil or etc, you try it on Hardcore mode, you can get more views and subs from that content
And if you are not good from survivng challange ( dont worry, i suck at Hardcore too ) you should try big or even mega builds like Grian, ha makes alot mega build, you should try tho.
I hope your channel and vids get more views and sub, scrolling ur videos catalog just awful when see alot of cool vids get under 3k views
Thanks :) I appreciate it. I did do few hardcores but I should revisit them at some point. I've got a lot of megabuilds which I do within Randomcraft but I aim on making more tutorials/showcases for builds in the near future ^^

My apologies for that, it seems to have been caused by the pdf rendering. I'll try to fix that in an update, however; if there's something you can't tell feel free to reach out to me on my Discord and I'll help :D
Quick question
The material list says '22 waxed cut copper' , but later also says '8 cut copper'. Same with cut copper stairs. Why are waxed and unwaxed materials needed differently?
This was simply a mistake on my part, I likely grabbed the wrong one in a part and grabbed unwaxed for a small piece somewhere haha! You could follow is exact, or switch for waxed of course
While i was building this i just though ( Why would this look so nice with mangrove planks instead of spruce planks)
question about the polished Blackstone in your instructions is it walls or block cause i can't find the part of you using it shown in the guide
if possible can you put the time in the video it roughly in use
Polished blackstone walls are used in the detailing phase in the video to make the internal connections for the gears to the shafts

instructions unclear. I finished with an insanley cool steampunk airship in minecraft.
you use more blocks of certain types more than in the material list, and also used a stone button, that isnt in the guidebook at all
This could be true, as I said there were some issues with both the recording and then the creation of the pdf. I still need to sort an amended guidebook.
All good, overall a very cool and awesome build to add to my base!

Odd, the links should be working.
This tutorial brought me to my breaking point. I tried my best to follow the design pattern and make it look the same but because you cut out the part where you build the second half of the hull where you change the design from what was just previously shown. When it first happened I was like oh that's weird why is the design different than yours and it was because the second half was built completely different than the first half that you told me to copy. Then the trend continued with you building things one way and then cutting out the part where you build the other half and the design is completely different. Then we get to the balloon where you show us how to make it but you don't show us the entire time where you have the design with the wool and the concreate, and at that point I was so tired of trying to follow the design I just kept it all white to save me time from trying to figure out how you designed it. and then after I painstakingly built the entire balloon you then go on to completely throw out how the balloon was made. It cuts from the balloon being done to the edits you made that you don't even show how you made it. You just go yeah figure it out for yourself and continue on like I don't have to restart all the progress I just made. When trying to follow the pattern I looked at the guidebook but I have to zoom in so far into the image to see what block is what they are just pixels and I cant tell which one is which. I'm not even gonna try to figure out how to make the balloon build work mostly because I'm tired of following this messed up tutorial You could've edited the video to show how you made the biggest pain to build in survival mode. I am honestly contemplating on making my own tutorial of the same build but actually explaining how to make it and make a guidebook as well but this time you can actually tell what block is what. That's how mad this video has made me. I haven't even mentioned that I had to watch the entire thing in .5 speed to try to understand what blocks were what. I will try my best to fix your mistake and build this for me and my friends. That was the reason I'm doing this is so I can build something nice for my friends.
The balloon is symmetrical, except for the exact texturing which as I said, people should experiment with. If I went into every minutia the video would have been 3-4 times longer which at the time I was unable to do. It is however a complicated build which is why the schematic, litematic, and .nbt was also included for less experienced builders.

yeah for sure, tbh this was the second recording of building it as the harddrive with the original recording failed so I had to re-record everything and it had me a bit tilted 😂

Yeah it was a bit rough, its one of the reasons I made the pdf booklet so that could be referenced. I'm glad you like the build ^^

You're going too fast and I can't understand anything
There's a visual guide linked underneath if you are struggling, and a direct download. As everyone has their own speeds some people think I was going too slow, others too fast, you may adjust the playback speed and slow it down (or speed it up) and follow along with the guide book.
