If we talk about maximum ranges, the Fulcrum can see ~200 km away (124 miles) Also when the east German Fulcrum fleet came into the possession of NATO, the extensive tests showed that the 29s were able to match the F-16s, a lot of times as high as a 1:1 kill ratio

Early 80s f16s didnt even have aim7s (except a few tests/prototypes) theg pnly used those arpund mid 80s n they move on to aim120s on late/early 90s. On top of this, in a slow fight the F16 is considerably better than the mig29 in a 1 circle, which it shouldn't be either. At high speeds the mig29 has 1 circle advantage but loses it over time. And the F16 has better rate at high speed but loses it over time as well. Their effective fight style makes no sense in warthunder but they're close enough now in capability that it really doesn't matter more than pilot skill outside of the mig29s superior merge However, the F16 has better IR missiles but that's balanced by the mig29s better radar missiles. Overall the mig29 is better, but I say this while also saying that skill is much more of a factor in a fight between these two than the aircraft more times than not. And I will not mention the F16A block 10s landing flaps because those damn things are effectively cheating lmao. If that's what you were referring to by having a better rate I agree. Without them the 29 is better however.

In real life BVR is the most common type of air to air fights by a lot. And if the 29 is better then the f 16 in that then it's better in pretty much everything. And the 29 is more durable which means it can beat it in a dogfight one circle.
The AMRAAMS your thinking of (C/D 5s iirc) won't be in the game for a long while 120As won't be too bad, in the mean time however hope they don't add the passive or active radar homing r-27s cause they would fuck your day up lol.

In warthunder the mig29 actually has a better rate than the F16. However the F16A (block 10) with landing flaps down will beat the 29. And in BVR the R27ERs easily out do what the sparrows can do with zero issues. Then of course the mig is stronger one circle initially be it tips to the F16s favor the long it progresses. So in warthunder, nah, not at all

@Kiubek PL even then the 29s radar is more effective if you use the radar modes right. Plus it has a higher gimbal to allow for a higher crank angle, furthering it's lethality in a joust. The F16 only has radar strength in terms of advantage over the 29s radar, everything else the 29 is better at

Lock Sure, kill? No. The F16 can lock the 29 pretty easily up to 74km, but the aim 7M won't be effective until around 20-30km. And at that range, the R27ERs acceleration will easily outdo the range of the 7Ms, so not really to be honest. Not even mentioning the 29s TWS, IRST, or higher radar gimbal limits. Overall when it comes to radar the F16 really only has advantages in long-range locking and strength of lock. Everything else the 29 is better than the F16 in in warthunder

If you didn't see this monuver was made to dodge a missile. So it flared and then made the monuver safely. So you wouldn't be close enough to shoot mig down. And even if you were close enough this monuver could be the best way to survive. Because if you miss you will be in huge problems
If the guy in the 29 keeps on jinking and breaking to get closer to you then he does that then you won't have time to put your'e nose up to shot him with guns. Iv'e seen a guy who did that against an f-15 which has better AOA and one circle capability than the f-16 so if a 29 does that to you…

you need to make these legitimate, i haven't watched more, but proably you along with everyone else make their opinions true in this. They choose which one they want to be the best, then point out the bads of the other one that is good on the one you want. Then you make it surprisingly equal so it looks like it's legit.
My true opinion is that the f-16 and mig 29 were made in the same generation, for the same purpose and is probably the two most closely performing jets. I love these two jets and I can't think of anything any of the aircraft has an edge on. And that you are just pissed that this short has not said the F-16 is way better than the disgusting Russian mig. 🤫

Maneuverability is apples and oranges between the two. F-16 has a better turn rate while the MiG-29 has a better turn radius. the two fighters were designed for two different styles of dogfight.
You idiot the Mig 29 is supermaneuverable. The f-16 is a two circle fighter which is another way of saying it uses its weight for the highest rate of turn . The mig 29 is a one circle fighter which is another way of saying it is light and in a fight using the aircraft manuverability the mig 29 would eat the f16. That’s why all the most manuverable fighters go for one circle fights. Search it up.
@@oelholm if you are loosing lock instantly that’s because you’re using the wrong mode at the wrong time The migs radar from my experience is pretty good at holding a lock, but it’s strong suit is regaining lock, a second and it’s back on whereas in the f16 once it starts loosing lock, it’s gone and it takes a couple seconds to regain the lock (at which point the aim7 has already self terminated)
Disagreed tbh. The 29s radar has higher gimbal, TWS, IRST, and a subjectively more intuitive radar range settings. The F16s radar has a stronger lock and further range, but that's about it. If you use the 29s radar we'll, it's easily second best in game from its capability. My only complaint with the 29s radar is the IRST scan path, I liked the 23s horizontal path more.
well that is not going to really matter as the usa learned when the bought 29's in the 90's from Germany and did mock combat trials with f15's,f14's and f-16s and it did not do that great against them from what i remember

In warthunder the mig29 actually has a better rate than the F16. However the F16A (block 10) with landing flaps down will beat the 29. And in BVR the R27ERs easily out do what the sparrows can do with zero issues. Then of course the mig is stronger one circle initially be it tips to the F16s favor the long it progresses. So in warthunder, nah, not at all

@Kiubek PL even then the 29s radar is more effective if you use the radar modes right. Plus it has a higher gimbal to allow for a higher crank angle, furthering it's lethality in a joust. The F16 only has radar strength in terms of advantage over the 29s radar, everything else the 29 is better at

Or the fact these are early variants of these planes? And the F16 initially was outright better because gaijin handicapped the hell out of the 29s AoA. Even now it's still missing a part of its historical AoA but I don't think it needs it because the two are very well balanced right now. Overall both planes are missing some of their capabilities, but rn they are balanced to the point pilot skill decides fights, not plane capabilities. So, overall, cry more.

Lock Sure, kill? No. The F16 can lock the 29 pretty easily up to 74km, but the aim 7M won't be effective until around 20-30km. And at that range, the R27ERs acceleration will easily outdo the range of the 7Ms, so not really to be honest. Not even mentioning the 29s TWS, IRST, or higher radar gimbal limits. Overall when it comes to radar the F16 really only has advantages in long-range locking and strength of lock. Everything else the 29 is better than the F16 in in warthunder

you need to make these legitimate, i haven't watched more, but proably you along with everyone else make their opinions true in this. They choose which one they want to be the best, then point out the bads of the other one that is good on the one you want. Then you make it surprisingly equal so it looks like it's legit.
My true opinion is that the f-16 and mig 29 were made in the same generation, for the same purpose and is probably the two most closely performing jets. I love these two jets and I can't think of anything any of the aircraft has an edge on. And that you are just pissed that this short has not said the F-16 is way better than the disgusting Russian mig. 🤫

Maneuverability is apples and oranges between the two. F-16 has a better turn rate while the MiG-29 has a better turn radius. the two fighters were designed for two different styles of dogfight.

The migs radar from my experience is pretty good at holding a lock, but it’s strong suit is regaining lock, a second and it’s back on whereas in the f16 once it starts loosing lock, it’s gone and it takes a couple seconds to regain the lock (at which point the aim7 has already self terminated)

Disagreed tbh. The 29s radar has higher gimbal, TWS, IRST, and a subjectively more intuitive radar range settings. The F16s radar has a stronger lock and further range, but that's about it. If you use the 29s radar we'll, it's easily second best in game from its capability. My only complaint with the 29s radar is the IRST scan path, I liked the 23s horizontal path more.
