- Join us for a ride on the newly-reopened, freshly refurbished Intamin river rapids ride at Busch Gardens Williamsburg! Climb aboard the brand new rafts for a white-water rafting adventure and dodge drenching waterfalls with us while spinning through twists and turns, coming out on the other side with a whole new definition of the words "Roman bath." This 4K 30FPS POV was captured using a GoPro Hero 8 via park-approved wrist strap. Please be sure to consult the FAQ's on the Busch Gardens Williamsburg website to qualify any ride cameras, and acquire a park-issued camera card before boarding any attraction.

My favorite rapids ride and i think the best in the United States. Its just fun, relaxing and i like the theme.
We thoroughly enjoyed the ride! There's definitely no coming off dry, but you take the good with the bad 😂

It does, actually! SWO has one of the most intense river rapids rides in the industry, Infinity Falls. We got absolutely _drenched_ on that ride last spring! 😂💦

I remember the final waterfalls being a lot more intense. I rode it this summer a couple months ago (summertime ago and I remember the water being a lot more intense. I wonder why they nerfed them.
This video was actually taken in June of 2023! The waterfalls have been nerfed since the reopening, unfortunately 😢 Nobody is sure why, but there don’t appear to be any plans to restore them to their former glory.
@@timandkt yeah my bad I meant I road it just recently around that time you mentioned - a bit in July. I’m annoyed that they nerfed them tho lol but aye at least I have my childhood memories.

I was coerced!!! 🤣 As bad as the overhead sprayers are at the end of the current edition, they used to be actual, high-yield waterfalls - SO MUCH WORSE! We didn’t do too badly, all things considered 🤣
What land wsd this in? I went there during april and i honestlj had no ides ir existed. I thought i rode everythint there, but i guess not lmao. I went dueinf april vacation, is rhat ride still there? I dont even recall seeing it by apollos Charriot when i ride. 2:45
It's still there, tucked away past Tempesto and the Trade Wind rides in the Festa Italia area! Definitely one of the hardest rides to find organically, we had to look at the map to find it on reopening day last year! 😉

Were all the water features turned on?
It’s honestly tough to say! We’ve only visited once since the rapids returned on Memorial Day weekend, and the waterfalls had been considerably ‘nerfed’ from their original operating strength in 2019. Whether they were permanently diminished during the refurb or temporarily reduced during these opening weeks is tough to say. As far as we _know_ - yes, all water features were turned on and operating as intended during our ride!
Carowinds could've rebuild their abandoned river rapids ride is it wasn't for high maintenance costs.
We visited Carowinds for the first time this past year! I think it definitely would have benefitted from the kinetic energy of a water attraction.

I didn't ride this when I was there 2 years ago and thank God I did not. All these rapid rides at all these amusement parks are lackluster & barely get you wet, with the exception of Dorney Park. Thunder canyon guarantees you will get soaked, & is way more intense. All these other rapid rides pale in comparison.
Haha, my objective when boarding a rapids ride is almost always to be the lucky one that gets off dry! 😂 Different strokes for different folks. For what it’s worth, though, this ride was significantly more of a soaker before the waterfalls in the final leg were “nerfed” during the recent refurb. Evidently they became a safety hazard as too many parkgoers were standing up in the raft to try and avoid the soaking - though the park has not officially confirmed this. Highly recommend Popeye and Bluto’s and Infinity Falls down in Universal Studios Florida and Seaworld Orlando, respectively, if you’re looking for a true soaker(s)!
