  • Pure HORROR!!
    Everything about this performance gave me chills - the bad once. And that was exactly what Rammstein wanted: They are reminding us about the absolute terror that these kids went through, that was the victims of this horrible case.
    It's a good reminder to why we should all pay more attention and make sure that we act, if we get the sense that something is off...
    Super intense performance. EWW!
    Thanks a lot to my lovely Patreon, Henning, for recommending me this song 🤗❤️

      not to diverge too much but unfortunately yes.. humanity is decending again towards the dark ages.. even surpassing it in a way.
      Far from the naïve part of me hoped that we would evolve partly due to or supported by the Digital Age but there's reality of humanity's darkest side...

    In this performance there are no cameras scanning the audience, no crazy antics or goofing off, no pyro. Everyone is concentrated on the music,the song, the performance. Till Lindemann is an awesome singer and an excellent actor you can just feel the anger in his voice he literally while performing becomes the person he's singing about. I read where he said he likes to get inside the minds of these sick people and to understand them and why they did whatever they did so in essence he becomes that person. That is why he is so good at what he does..Till Lindemann - Rammstein are the total package excellent strong and beautiful vocals, great commanding presence, awesome stage design, lighting and pyro, the best guitar riffs and the most talented musicians in the world, They do things others have never done or even thought of doing.

    One of the really sick parts of this story is that all the people in the town used to pity the Fritzl Family. Josef Fritzl told the people that their daughter had left them suddenly at the age of 18 without them telling where she supposedly went.

  • @Fransens
    @Fransens 2 года назад +8

    In another live performance they have like 2 dozen of baby dolls hanging from the ceiling over the stage, each with a green laser pointer in one of their eyes looking down on the audience and stage, slowly dangling there.
    That combined with the children's crying and laughter mixed in is the strongest version I feel.
    Very creepy.

  • @TomTomson81
    @TomTomson81 2 года назад +29

    Till always portrays the perpetrator in his songs. He does it so well that you inevitably have to think of what the victims had to go through. And that's exactly the point behind it.
    Rammstein's well-known fireworks and pyrotechnics are also dispensed with here.

    • @Queenfan99
      @Queenfan99 2 года назад +1

      Another thing I think is fascinating with Till's lyrics (and art in general) is when the artist makes you question who you identify or "agree" with. But this is a fine line - the most elegant of cases is when the message is clear (Fritzl commited horrendous acts) but when you still manage to get his "reasoning/intentions" in the light.
      And as you say, it works to portray very well what the victims experienced as well. My favorite line here is "Ich halte dich.... in der Dunkelheit!". He "embraced them" - but they were held down.
      Pure artistry, this song

    • @nicklemahieu5507
      @nicklemahieu5507 Год назад

      With good reason. The lack of their usual and almost always present pyrotechnics just goes to prove how dark people's lives can be. A life in darkness, being exposed to the darkest parts of the human soul for such a long time. How can anyone ever find even the faintest spark in those conditions?

    My wife doesn't understand why metal have growls and dislikes hard loud music, I've been trying to explain her why some feelings and lyrics are expressed and have such interpretation but so far she doesn't get it, but this presentation and song that I never heard before although I have the Ronsenrot album in a case and heard many Rammstein songs before and know they can be dark and hard makes me appreciate the band even more, because that's the true core/heart of art power they have, making you feel uncomfortable and understand things from a different point of view regardless if you feel good or bad is their true pure power for any artist, transmission of feelings, changing your state of mind and perception just with an instrument, painting or any expression.

      I would try explaining the origins, starting with Black Sabbath towards the end of the Vietnam War. Metal basically developed out of the Hippie Music of the late 60s after all.

    I'm the same age as Elizabeth but I could never imagine being in her position. Fritzel is a monster, there's no doubt about that and even today, he believes he's done nothing wrong. Till is fully invested in portraying Fritzel in this performance and I'm glad that we feel uncomfortable and disgusted to an extent-it shows that we still have positive values. Rammstein have never been afraid of covering subjects that people avoid talking about-rape, incest, child abuse by priests, stalking, domestic violence etc. They are wonderful commentators and for some people they're a bit too in your face but sometimes, it's what is needed. Everything with them is multi-layered, they don't glorify or condone these offences just by singing about them. We can't turn our backs or look away from these subjects, they're real and present for so many people and they should be discussed and debated and if it takes Rammstein to do it, so be it.

    Rammstein shows the dark side of the story. Fritzl actually thought that he did something nice but he hold his daughter in Darkness. Rammstein often have songs about the dark sexuality of men and how poor such men are. Mein Teil, Bück Dich, weißes Fleisch for example. Great reaction.

    Today this was the first time, I've heard and seen this song - even though I have the CD "Liebe ist für alle da" since years where it is a track of. The reason was that I'm not able to enjoy a song - regardless of the quality and style - that addresses this horrible crime.
    I appreciate your thoughts about that song and I can relate to them. 👍 And maybe another reason for Rammstein to write it is because they had to process their own feelings about the crime in this artistic way.
    I guess I needed some sort of supervised listening to confront this song. Thanks for that. 👍 Nevertheless I don't think I'll hear this song ever again.

    Hi Sabina as always a great reaction.
    I agree with your analysis of Wiener Blut. Rammstein has always a deeper meaning behind their songs and pack it in their own unique music and lyrics.
    A very interisting band to react is SKYND (named after the Australian lead singer). Their genre is called True Crime Music in an industrial Rock Music style too. I would like to see your reaction to their music. But be aware it is heavy stuff. There videos are fantastic and creepy at once.
    I recommend: "Columbine" and "Richard Ramirez" but the other songs are great too.

    It's hard as f**k, yes it is, but unfortunately it is also reality.
    There are so many bands that sing about the sweet life or other cheesy nonsense, we've had enough of them, they lie to us about the beautiful life and we take refuge in this warm, beautiful embrace. 99.99% of all films have a happy ending, people try not to show bad things so as not to spoil the children.
    Maybe there needs to be more bands or artists like Rammstein who tell the truth and draw attention to injustices.
    Unfortunately, it is still the case that one in five children worldwide is abused. How many children do you know personally? yes, I mean you, who is reading this right now. think about it.

    Rammstein…the modern day Black Sabbath. Dark, almost satanic. Never afraid to use sometimes uncomfortable themes within their music. But, with great panache…Deutschland is a good example…no glorification. Instead subtle condemnation. I was lucky enough to see them some years back here in the U.K…what a show. As a band, they don’t pull any punches…snowflakes beware. Great song choice Sabina, sticking to your principled guns in presenting music of all genre’s for us to enjoy. 👏👏👏 A recommended Rammstein listen..Links 234..the official video or the live in Paris version.
