The trigger bar can not engage the hammer sear unless the pistol is held properly in the hand. Best safety I know of. (Worked really well for COLT 1911 Military 45) Makes the pistol very safe and drop proof.
Some people do not like single stack magazines. I say, carry 1 extra 8 round magazine. 8 x 3 = 24 + 1 = 25 rounds. That's 1/2 box of ammo and it's light weight.
I just bought 1 in Lee's Summit, Mo for $369 and it came with a small gun vault. I got the version with ambidextrous thumb safety. I have no doubt it will make an excellent EDC.
Got mine at cabelas in hammond Indiana, I'm a noob at hand guns so they recommended me the 380 Shield ez and so far its a nice home defense and self defense gun can't wait to try it out at the gun range.
Got the Performance Center model and can recommend it for the better trigger and sights. Excellent review of a Great gun that I highly recommend. Also worth getting a speed loader from elite tactical systems - - 25 bucks on eBay and it really is worth every penny. It loads the mags in just a few seconds, ez peasy to use.
GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for this review! Finally, someone did not mention that this firearm was meant for women and macho men who would not shoot more than 1,2,3,4, hundred, 5,000, rounds through this pistol! Why not? I would and will for practice! Put your ego aside, macho men! Shoot it and you will like it as well! Low recoil, EZ to load and EZ to rack the slide for many reasons! Get with the times fellow shooters!
Thank you for an excellent review. I agree with Jerry A. Finally a review that does not state it is for the old, women or the weak and feeble who cannot rack a slide or load a magazine. I have larger guns and have no issues with either of these, but this has become my carry gun. I have had it for several months and have been to the range at least 8 times and put hundred of rounds through it. Never a miss-feed. The gun is a dream to shoot. It has easy target acquisition and minimal recoil being a little larger than most .380's. The easy rack slide and magazine are just icing on an already excellent cake. Data supports that a .380 is adequate for self defense. So I have no trepidation carrying one. Being comfortable and self assured with the gun you carry and being able to hit what you are shooting at are the important factors. I could carry a larger gun, as I have in the past. But I shoot this one better than any gun I have ever owned. S&W, in my opinion, has hit a home run with this gun. And as stated in the review the trigger is incredible.
Very good review sir. I think you did a really good job and covered a lot of pertinent information. Really interested in this particular model the more I watch well done reviews, such as this one, that cover the features front to back, up and down. Good job.
Recoil is never an advantage. This gun will let you put more rounds on target faster. Having a slide that requires more force is never an advantage. Imagine that you've been shot. You'll be much weaker as you experience blood loss. I'm a strong man with a strong grip and I would love to have this fine pistol.
I have noticed in pistol videos there is what I call a "left view bias." The gun is almost always shown on the left side opposite the ejection port. The right side is almost never seen. Could it be to hid the serial number?
I think it's because most people are right-handed and it's easier to manipulate the gun on camera in this orientation. That's the reason for me, anyway.
Just got one for $298 with a gun vault after handling one in a gun store. I have multiple caliber revolvers and pistols but love the 380 cartridge. Have used it in a Colt Mustang, Sig P238 and a Browning BDA. All perform extremely well with the right ammo. Looking forward to trying this one out for comparison as it appears to have some very nice features. Who knows I might even carry it in place of my Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Officers model especially during hot summer months down south
I'd love to hear your thoughts after you've got some trigger time with it, particularly as compared to the other .380 pistols you have experience with! I love the P238, myself. Such a good shooter!
@@PrecisionGunReviews haven't taken it out yet but as far as the P238 I've had two of them and my daughter got one of those...the better one of the two. It had a better trigger and shot very very well. It took every kind of ammo I put thru it including Underwood Extreme Defender and Ruger ARX which are very low grain rounds...the one I have is not as nice a shooter as the one she now has. Not sure that they are all built the the same as the trigger pull on hers was around 4 pounds and the one I now have around 7 pounds. Big difference which may account for one being a better shooter then the other. The Browning has a nicer trigger and is the most accurate of the bunch. Of course being a blowback it has a little more recoil but with the added weight shoots great. We'll see how the Shield EZ stacks up.
My wife could not rack her M&P 9c. One day, while at the gun counter, the clerk put an EZ on the counter and my wife picked it up. I asked her how it felt in her hand and she said "really good" She racked the slide and her eyes got really big and she said "I really like this" So of course it had to follow us home. We each have the M&P 9c, 380 EZ and 380 Bodyguard with belt clip. Our normal dress is a "T" shirt tucked in and the pistol in a holster outside the belt at the waist. We wear an over shirt for concealment. We carry Hornady Critical Defense 90 gr. FTX

Can't be any easier or faster then their easy load mags.
I bpught a Smith and Wesson 380 EZ last May. It's easy to lpad and shoot. I enjoy shooting it at the firing range.

I hear you. Funny that one of the things these same people put on their guns is called a......"compensator." Haha
Thanks for watching!

Well said! Thanks for watching!
Very interesting self defence pistol this. .....must get one.
John Grytbakk, with the modern ammo for this pistol it will be a positive pistol, for self defense in a home situation!

It is a nice handling pistol and so enjoyable to shoot. Reloading the magazine is a breeze with the button assist on the sides. Easy to conceal IWB.

plenty of 22 cal pistols that are large for good target shooting why not one for a 380. very interesting
