- Home from work and finally had a chance to catch up on the latest products coming soon from Arcade1Up by retailer "Game" over in the United Kingdom. Arcade1Up Collectorcades - we finally know what they are! But, are they even worth it especially for ballpark $99 Retail when they come to the United States? Also Arcade1Up is releasing a new Pac-Man/Galaga Head-to-Head Countercade this one reminds me of my PONG! Head to Head Arcade1Up product and this one...will it be good?

Not going to worry about the orginal rom for the aracde feel and look is worth it to me and also paying under 100 got my super pacman for 65.00 used and ms.pacman new for 50 bucks with my khols cash on sale on black friday for 99.99.which brought it down.

The Pac-Man Galaga countercade is down to £99 in the UK now. So snapped one up. Your opinion helped me decide to get one too.

I WANT THIS Pacman/Galaga mashup countercade, though I would rather have the Ms. Pacman/Galaga Class of 81 since the Class of 81 DID have a cocktail cab.
I have the Class of 81 Cabinet and gave it a positive review. Good Cabinet

Someone seriously borked the product positioning for the Collectorcades.
Clearly these units won't appeal to collectors. So why didn't they simply call them Microcades and target the premium toy segment?

This collectorcade is disappointing. I really was hoping they would be those revamped Coleco Tabletops they showed two years ago.

The collector cade is a joke, right? Tiny screen, 1 player, 13 inches tall? What, the counter cade wasn't small enough? I just don't see the point. Apologies if this comes across rudely, but I've grown to expect more from A1U, not less.

7:32 and this is precisely why i never bought anything from them, and likely never will but boy are these videos fun! Good stuff.
I think this arcade bubble is going to burst pretty soon. Mostly because well, we're not locked down and that created an artificial growth spike that is very likely in the process of cooling down, or about to.
When that happens all these cheap plastic toys will be $50 in a bin somewhere. If the craze for arcade type products continues i'll be shocked. But from just watching youtube and reading forums it's become clear that most people are just kinda... okay with what they have now, and maybe they will sell something to make space if something they really wanted for years finally comes to market.
I expect a sharp decline soon.
UK and AU are making some quality multicades and Vpins these days... Xtreme Cabinets kinda blow everything stateside out of the water, and the price reflects it too lol. But i mean, those guys know quality hardware!
Totally agree with you about the myarcade comparison. Who is making the decisions at A1up to come up with new product ideas, because this ain't it.

These definitely don't compare to New Wave Toys...they compare to Basic Fun and My Arcade so those $15-$35 should be the price for these.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It did seem pricey especially considering many of their floor 3/4ths size machines are on sale right now for the $300 range.

I have two 1UP 3/4 cabinets and two of the @Games Legends Gamer (Pro & Mini) controllers w/pucks (note: the bluetooth lag is terrible). Initially it was really cool to have a smaller version of an arcade cabinet with a few games on them. But they still take up space and are in the way when not in use. The @Games Legend Gamer controller systems were a better solution as they could be put away or slid under the couch or coffee table.
However, all of these systems have trash buttons, joysticks, and trackball. I've already converted my 1UP 3/4 cabinets with real leaf switch buttons, GRS spinner, and GRS trackball. Thanks Glen! Soon I will be rebuilding the two @Games controllers with the same leaf switch buttons and joysticks. I've spent thousands of hours and quarters playing these games in the time when they were new and only at the arcade (Pinball Pete's, et al) through the 80s and 90s.
I'm glad to see there is so much to choose from but the over saturation means these will be in garage sales and clearance websites in less than 5 years for pennies on the dollar. I do think there is enough of us in the same age range that grew up playing these original arcade games. And that our kids are being exposed to true gameplay which could extend their appeal.
I purchased my 1st Arcade 1UP at Costco for $100 assembled. Then added $80 making the controls right. My latest discount was the countercade Galaga for $40.

It is basically a 1/3 scale 1Up which makes me wonder if a 3" novelty riser is coming out. Was hoping for something in scale with my replicades to supplement the line; would even have been ok if it was 3/4 scaled to those or effectively be a 1/6 scale Arcade1Up. Have no use for the random mid scale they went with. I just hope someone sells some risers as a joke.

The Pong countercade is awesome all around. But the asking price was laughable. Its going for $129 which is about right. I am definitely about the Pac-Man/Galaga for the same price.
The Collectorcades are laughable.
Good video Pdubs. New Wave is quality with great customer service. Just the box the put their units in scream quality. I remember 1up saying (they even showed a couple) make Coleco style units for 30 bucks. My arcade is kids stuff to me.

I had hopes for the collectorcades when I first saw the leak. Arcade1up does pretty good at times with their odd ball products but this one is a bust right out the gate.

@@PDubsArcadeLoft Nah but I did enjoy the New Wave Toys one. Just prefer the real deal - if someone made more of the Rare or different small ones and they functioned like the real thing. For example a "Galaxy Force 2" SIGN ME UP!
You do understand that most people buy the mini arcade cabinets not to actually play on right?? Yes you do the 15 min to an hour of initial play cause you just baught it but in the end, peopel buy them as SHELF toys. Something to display in a game room, or shelf in the media center, etc.. for a little nostalgia cool factor or talking point. So the fact they have shitty speakers and screens and buttons dont respond well.....who cares. Your buying a 20 dollar knick knack to put on a shelf. The geek version of Homegoods crap.
I understand that for sure. This is exactly what I say about the New Wave Cabs I've reviewed. But....if I have something on display it's New Wave...these $25 cheap things are in a drawer and taken out once a year. I display things that I think are more worth displaying in my own taste. Hope that makes sense
It’s laughable if arcade 1 up wants to compete with numskul and replicade because they have better quality in every aspect of the way I just feel arcade 1 up needs to really improve on there 2 player countercades which I love and also add more titles on that that’s what they need to stick too

Collectorcade….swing and a miss. If they actually were to build one on the level of New Wave, they’d then price it well over $200 just because.

As I said in my own vid I don't think the CollectorCade knows what it wants to be, Its a mini replica of a 3/4 scale replica of an Arcade machine that is not 100% accurate to that Arcade and is running console ROMs of the Arcade games, collectors don't want that. Big shame, they could have done more, New Wave and Numskull can breath easy

I'm not sure I understand the "bring your own batteries" problem. I'd much rather have a device I can toss a few Eneloops into than something with an internal battery that (a) may or may not be easily removable or (b) may or may not actually be replaceable.
It's like the Xbox vs PlayStation controller argument. I have numerous PS3 controllers that are now worthless without some surgery because their batteries are dead. Meanwhile, that will never be an issue with my Xbox controllers. Or, it's the Nintendo New 3DS (non-XL version) problem people are starting to run into, as that battery for that specific unit is now not easy to find (since it's a model Nintendo doesn't use in other products).
I think the push for internal rechargeable batteries is going to bite us in the rear in the years to come as more of our devices have dead batteries that, at that point, may not be easily replaceable for one or more reasons. Won't ever have that issue with something that uses standard batteries.
You make a fair point..but .the issue is you are paying the same price for products that are more high end and come with these features vs something that does not.
Honestly, I am interested in the countercade but I am not interested in the Collectorcades now. Sorry A1UP 😂🤦♂️😂🤦♂️

I collect the Super Impulse Tiny Arcade. To be fair they are just for show on my retro arcade shelf and console shelf they fit just right.
The 1/6 NWF arcades in my opinion for £150 is crazy regardless how well they’re made, you’re better off with an Arcade1Up.
But In fact I’d not buy any Multicade because I’ve a full size custom made arcade running Retropie with better spinners / trackball and buttons.
All I see is RUclips reviews on Arcade1Up from collectors (like yourself) but they’re constantly bashing something that’s not right on every single release.
But I guess it’s each to their own at the end of the day
Appreciate the comment. I've reviewed many Arcade1up products and have given many a positive and some a negative review. It's just sharing opinions and pointing out opportunities for improvement

Dear A1up. The Pac-man cow has been milked dry. Enough already. No more Pac-man cabinets or variants/couchcades etc. Focus on bringing new A+ games to market and fixing your quality control issues. Thanks for the video and insight Pdubs!

They are a little taller and obviously have more than one game on it. So the question is is it worth three times the cost because you have three times the games? They will be better if they were on the numbskull bandwagon and were authentic to the real design.
