What a brilliant video as ever gents, the diversion route really is taking shape now and can't wait to see the finished result. Knowing that I've had the hornby magazine show monthly and being able to talk to like minded individuals has been a real booster for us all and I'd like to thankyou all for putting on great shows each month. I wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy new year, and hope you have lots of fun modelling in the new year All the best and keep safe James
Gentlemen, thank you for another exceptional update. Your updates continue to raise the bar and are doing so much for our amazing hobby. The layout looks fantastic and is so inspirational. The three of you work so well together and please, please, just kee them coming. Can’t wait to hear Mike of your ideas for the Faller road system. Have a great Christmas and please please continue to encourage our younger modellers as we will need them in years to come. Happy Christmas Mike, Richard and Mark 🎄🎅☃️🍻🍻👏👏👏👏
Honestly I cant understand how you guys do it! It is incredibly good content and I could sit for hours on end just binge watching you guys. It's the perfect trio!!!😅👍
It's the spirit of the season. Awsome. What a beautiful layout. I know Christmas has passed .... but Merry Christmas anyway guys and let's all hope for a better and prosperous 2021.
Great video lads, enjoyed the faller road system demo.. Overall Scene is looking good really coming together.. Many thanks for all your hard work in putting the videos together, great watch... Many thanks Keith ...
Very well done guys - incidentally love the music 'Spirit of the Season' too that's playing in the background during the shunting feature (at around 38 minutes in). Happy New Year to all the team!
I can remember being invited by a friend who used to drive me to school for a cab ride in a 117 from Enfield Town to Liverpool Street and back. I made it sound like the Class 37 Police Locomotive by kicking the horn pedal as we entered Enfield Town!! I must have been around eight years old at the time!!
That Faller road system looks amazing, and to be honest not as complicated as I thought. Or Mike made it look easy lol. Great upload, all the best in 2021. Brian @ The Angels
Lovely to see the Santa Express with the dear old test track!! He’ll be running on my micro layout of Walmington-on-Sea. Who’s going to let the Mainwearing family down?!!
Great video thanks. Have you thought about making the vehicles different colours / livery on either side so it makes it look like you have double the traffic ?
That extension is brilliant. However highways England have been on, they have reported a missing height restriction notice on the bridge! Please fix immediately! Merry Christmas all.
The Network South East 117 shown is certainly not the one on the Epping Ongar Railway!! That’s green with Speed Whiskers!! In fact I believe it’s one of the earliest 117s in the country.
Great video!! I’m going to install the Faller Road System when I finally start building my Ongar Station layout!! The main road into Chipping Ongar is a very busy one. Can the Faller Road System take more than one vehicle at the time?
Another great video guys & the added feature of road vehicles moving is a big plus for the layout. Not sure if it was just me but the FedEx van seemed to be moving quicker than the Mercedes van so is that a potential problem with it catching up to another vehicle or can speed of individual vehicles be adjusted? Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year. Let’s hope 2021 is better than 2020 🙏
Yet again a fantastic video. You guys have really done well this year and its nice to have such a fun video to look forward to. Keep up the hard work Merry christmas and stop eating the chocolate richard 😘 😂
Now come on Mike this is the third time of asking, please replace that GWR bracket signal, if you're a GWR fan at least replace it with another with the taller arm representing the main line, it's such a small item compared to all the work your doing on the layout but to a retired BR signalman it's sticking out like a sore thumb. That's the grumbling over with, well done lads you are all great modellers and very inspirational and I always look forward to your video's ( but get that signal sorted before the next one, no excuses). Take care lads and a Happy and HEALTHY new year to all of you.
@@hornbymag Please swap it before then, you have an appropriate signal on the opposite side of the tracks on the slow line near the goods shed one like that would be perfect, you are all to professional to have a inappropriate signal on such a detailed layout take care lads and looking forward to your next video (if the signals replaced lol), regards Paul.
Thanks for another excellent video. Very interesting to see the Faller Road system, did you need any extra materials, or was there enough in the starter system to complete the job? I also don't see anything but modern vehicles on the Faller web-site, I see some truck/bus chassis, but nothing that would allow me to convert maybe an 1940's/50's Oxford diecast vehicle.
Thanks Steve, all the bits we used bar the sand paper and scraper were in the kit. There are a lot of cars to choose from but you can retro fit models you want with a fallar chassis. Keep an eye on future issues of the magazine as we'll be covering it.
Impressive. I very fiddly install, done much better than I imagine I could ever do it. But what the road vehicles really need to improve them is a system that allows them to slow down as they approach and go round corners. As it is, they approach and go round a right angle bend at exactly the same speed they were proceeding along the straight road, and it looks, honestly, kind of ridiculous, and nothing at all like the way a real road vehicle would be driven.
The Garden railway only comes out to play in the summer as its too cold 🥶 The middle level will be addressed next after this scene on Topley Dale is done.
@@hornbymag so analogue digital one is when u can program it to stop play lights sounds of a csr is in front slower it will over take its whst model wounder land has in hamburger
Should be ashamed of yourself, ripping out the hedgerows like that just to widen a road, wild life habitat destruction etc etc aside from that the road system looks really good, get a bunc!, point of interest you should lengthen the white lines before the corner to signify a hazard,
Merry Christmas guys! You all deserve so much, for your impeccable contributions to the modelling community! Take care - Sam
Thanks Sam! Very kind
I watch your videos British bricks love your class 08
This excellent channel is fast becoming the Model Railway equivalent of Top Gear - Happy Christmas
Thanks Tim

Thanks James, if we can offer a distraction its a good thing.
Loved the last video, can’t wait to be watching this tomorrow evening with my father before Christmas! Thanks so much for putting these together
Our pleasure, I hope you enjoy it! :D

Happy New Year, enjoying all the shows.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Watching Mike build that road had really inspired me.
Great to hear!

The layouts coming along brilliantly! Present time was a nice touch too. Merry Christmas all!!

Merry Christmas, the layout looks amazing!

Merry Cristmas to you all at Hornby. That is very cool setup. I definately want one of those kits for my layout.
Thanks Phil!

Beautiful Layout Guys, what a great little hobby we have ... Merry Christmas :)
Thanks Steve, Happy Christmas 🎄
This is even better with all the moving trains, keep up the amazing work and happy new year.
Thanks Darren!
The corner Mine industry (at 1:25 and at 39:00) really looks great! I would love to switch out railcars with Kay-Dee couplers there!
Thanks, the previous Hornby Magazine show s you can see it being installed.
Another great show guys. Happy New Year to you all.
Great video guys, thank you. I hope you all have a good, safe, Christmas and we'll see you all in the New Year. Happy Christmas Modelling!
Thanks Kevin, Happy Christmas

Thanks Brian, it really is super simple.
Another great update Gents. Merry Christmas.
Happy Christmas 🎄
The road vehicles look fantastic makes the scene 👍🏻🇬🇧😇
Thanks!
Alas the faller car system, it's brilliant. Merry Christmas 🎄☃️ everyone
Happy Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas Hornby!🎄

So amazing video and merry Christmas to all 🎄🎅🎁🎈🎆
Thanks 😊
Merry Christmas...loved watching your vids. Even thou i don't have a layout.
Always welcome to join the fun Rey
Great video thanks. Have you thought about making the vehicles different colours / livery on either side so it makes it look like you have double the traffic ?
Thats a good idea, ill suggest it
Happy new year
your videos are realy cool
Love your videos and the magazine!
Thanks Lennon
Merry Christmas folks
Merry Christmas Thomas
Great video. Where did you get the lorry and van from?
Is there a max incline for the faller system?
That extension is brilliant. However highways England have been on, they have reported a missing height restriction notice on the bridge! Please fix immediately! Merry Christmas all.
Thanks Dan, watch this space Happy Christmas 🎄
Is there a collective noun for 3 geeks talking trains, love it lads , keep up the good work. An anorak of geeks?
Thanks Andy! 😁
The Network South East 117 shown is certainly not the one on the Epping Ongar Railway!! That’s green with Speed Whiskers!! In fact I believe it’s one of the earliest 117s in the country.
Interesting to know 😊
I think the road lining going under the bridge should be double white lines. ( no overtaking )
Good suggestion
I dread to think what that FedEx drivers Green Road score is as comes around those bends under the railway bridge 😆
As long as he gets there on time hehe
Great video!! I’m going to install the Faller Road System when I finally start building my Ongar Station layout!! The main road into Chipping Ongar is a very busy one. Can the Faller Road System take more than one vehicle at the time?
Yes, we run two but you can have as many as will fit
Can I also ask for a link for the LED strip lights above the layout as if like some for my loft
Brilliant content as always. Does Guagemaster do an N scale variant of the road system?
Can I ask who makes your locomotive storage desks?
They're IKEA units called Alex

We did notice that too, it may be down to battery charge levels... more testing required
Those vehicles are going at a scale speed of around 90mph around the corners
i am going to put a road system in when i get my layout built. wish the vehiles were a bit cheaper tho
Hi Chris, its definitely worth saving for.
Hello, do you have the link where you can buy the road system from?
www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/
Yet again a fantastic video. You guys have really done well this year and its nice to have such a fun video to look forward to.
Keep up the hard work
Merry christmas and stop eating the chocolate richard 😘 😂
Thanks Eric! Glad you enjoy them, who knows you may feature in 2021 ;-)
@@hornbymag fingers crossed!

Thanks and yes it is.
I did say that you'd never get a double decker under there! Best get the height markers up before a bridge bash needs reporting !
Haha you're right Steve
I love this video too.
Great

Love the videos guys. Whilst the mag often features o gauge, you hardly ever feature your O gauge under Topley Dale.
The Garden railway only comes out to play in the summer as its too cold 🥶 The middle level will be addressed next after this scene on Topley Dale is done.
Also looking forward to the APT...obvious reasons lol
Good choice!
Is your faller road digital or analogue
Neither, the vehicals follow a wire with a magnet.
@@hornbymag so analogue digital one is when u can program it to stop play lights sounds of a csr is in front slower it will over take its whst model wounder land has in hamburger
1, 2.....Merry Christmas
Its harder than it looked
There is far easier and much cheaper way of adding moving road vehicles to your layout
Oooo we'd live to know your thoughts?
I do enjoy these videos but will someone buy a box of tissues for whoever was sniffing all the way through!
Fingers crossed Santa bringing some! 😄
