Fantastic edition as always. Love the instructional elements of the videos - well shot, and easy to follow. The chemistry between the three main presenters is clear to see and makes watching the videos fun.
Where I live there is a store where you can buy hornby trains. Not anymore because it was destroyed but we still have a hornby railway museum there…! I wanted to go this year but corona stopped it.
Superb video as ever gents, always love the outtakes they get funnier each time. Really liking how the diversion routes scenics are developing. Keep up the good work and stay safe James
Great roundup show guys. Layout is looking great. Some mouth watering releases there. Hope you all have a great Christmas and look forward to catching up with you in 2021, regards Bobby 'T'.
Excellent video, guys. Love how you had more outtakes for saying there's outtakes than anything else, lol. I'm really looking forward to my GT3 arriving, looks absolutely fantastic on Topley Dale.
I thoroughly enjoyed the video, keep the `bloops` in, they make things very normal, the more `bloops` the better. Keep up the improved work. Thank you. John
A joy to watch. I got the January 2021 issue of the magazine and it's great value for money. There are a lot of interesting articles in the issue. I like the updates and the new releases section. I got the issue in Tesco Cork, in Ireland. I'm looking forward to my Accurascale British Steel livery PTA wagons and they're on the way in the post. I saw them in Newport, South Wales on holidays years ago, happy days.
Great work as always guys. Amazing how that new bridge section blends in already👍🏻. Interesting results on the awards part, Accurascale are starting to make a dent and it wouldn't suprise me if next year they are winners all over with what they have coming out. Great to see more how to videos coming along and longer videos on key model world. Looking forward to the next show already.
Another good one guys! :) I presume that Topley Dale is based on the Ambergate to Chinley line. It's a wonderful former line that is often overshadowed by the famous Settle and Carlisle railway, however it is equally impressive.
Your shows are really coming together, informative, and entertaining as well. Thank you. Was that an intended pun by Mike as he was putting the road in under the bridge that he "has come to the end of the road!" Regards Roger.
Another enjoyable magazine show 👍 Really good progress with Topley Dale, interesting tips and techniques as well. One tip ... maybe worthwhile adding a couple of dropper wires to the sections of track removed and reinstated over the viaduct, as it appears you’re now reliant upon the fishplates. Regards, Mark
Brilliant video again .I just want to mention that i have got the latest edition of Hornby magazine { January 2021 ] and i am very pleased to see that gave give big right up for Hornby's Sound {TTS} i do hope that in future editions of Hornby magazine when doing features on sound decoders you will give TT sound a bit more of the lime light and review them instead of all the OTHER OVER PRICED SOUND CHIPS . i only by the Hornby ones .I asked Hornby a few yrs ago about about doing a budget sound decoder as I cant afford the over high price's of the other manufacturers decoders, and low and behold about 18 months later they announced the TTS and i must say i am very pleased with them and its a lot more affordable .so please please push TTS a bit more. Regards to the Hornby team its great magazine. and video keep e'm coming .
Nice to get a full-length model railway programme, you crammed a lot into it too.👍 One thing I noticed, which surprised me, was how extremely effective the plain, grey backscenes are. The majority of printed ones(even photographic ones) can look "forced" and blue, for a British layout, is pushing it a wee bit. The viaducts look like decent kits, very adaptable; is there a way to hide the seams/joins between the sections though? I wondered about using thin, runny plaster but it might make them 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 obvious. That GT3 looks like a beautiful model; how far things have come in the r-t-r market.😁 A couple of final thoughts on an excellent production: I had to keep adjusting the sound, the mics seem to be at different levels and the music sections are louder than the dialogue pieces. Also, would you consider varying the clip between segments? The train of ballast hoppers got a bit tired by the end. All in all, a very welcome and enjoyable programme, thank you guys.👍👌😁
As always lads an excellent inspiring entertaining video, thank you, but please please replace that GWR starter bracket signal with one showing the taller arm representing the main line, I know it may sound petty but as a retired BR signalman it's important to see it right. Once again lads thank you for bringing us a Great video, kindest regards Paul.
It does stick out like a sore thumb, especially straight after saying they're available "handed" both ways. I'm glad you mentioned, thought I was being too picky.😁
@@2H80vids Thank you for your comment, I don't like to criticize the lads as I couldn't come close to modeling to that standard but to me that is a very important overlooked detail and is a very small thing to put right in the scheme of things, you are not being picky at all, now come on lads this is the third time of asking get that signal replaced before moving on, and keep up the good work, regards. Paul.
It’s not actually a steam locomotive (: that’s an experimental gas turbine loco (gt3) it just happens to look a little like a loco+tender but there are no steam powered pistons- the wheels are turned by gas turbine power!
Just curious what is the percentage incline on the road in the divisionary i am looking at the faller car system and just curious t what incline is acceptable and what is the max incline they will work on?
I really enjoyed watching the whole show Great progress on the layout and interesting reviews of all the new stock. Very envious of the fantastic shops and retailers you have in England and the UK. We can only dream of these here in Australia Nick Australia
Hi Guys, currently off work having broken my leg, ankle and foot, so can't get to my model railway up in the loft (Which idiot put it up there). Have enjoyed looking at some of the video's following the renewal of my Hornby magazine, (adding Key Model World). The one thing I have noticed I do not know whether others are seeing (or hearing) the same, when you are recording all of you, the sound is very unreliable. Some times it is very loud and other times I cannot hear it at all. Not sure whether it is the mic's you use or whether they are directional and need to point directly towards your sound source. Apart from that absolutely love the shows, keep up the good work, look forward to the next one.
I couldn't work out where the stream/river was going through the arches of the new viaduct? The only reason would you build a viaduct is because there was some kind of water course. A road would have been secondary.
Why not try a yard stick to achieve straight track? Incidentally after Mike's admission that he did not do metric I did indeed take out a subscription to Hornby Magazine - one of the best things I have done in recent times. Also I find your videos very helpful despite some 40 years' modelling experience. Who needs Railway Modeller?
1st place layout, and they can't even get the first or last passenger train formations correct. All passenger trains in steam days were required to have the last coach include a Guards Brake area, as passengers were NOT allowed to travel in any vehicle behind the Guard !!!!!
Charles Chadwick I know your watching this i'm interested if some of their techniques make you cringe? ONly in a good way I love this hobby because we all achieve things differently but i can just imaging a look on his face those that follow his channel would know what im talking about. MUCH LOVE my dream model railway series of youtube videos is literally only a few weeks away and im BUSTING to share with all of you the extremes Iam up to which is the complete OPPOSITE OF EVERYONE ELSE other than perhaps NED FLANDERS lol great stuff guys SUPER VID its why I love Hornby. Lets get in and have fun it does not have to be super duper accurate or realistic I mean it can or it can jsut be a DAMN FINE HOOT as seen here. Smeg sake what a time to be alive if only I had access to all this when I grew up in regional Australia in the early 80's.
Mike. I am still not convinced that the sound available reflects the sound of steam engines. I don't know whether it is the quality of speakers or what, but, as yet, the nearest I have heard to a realistic steam engine is the breathy sound of a West Country. The strong bark, which occurs in G W, LMS and many BR standard locomotives just isn't there.
The "O" Gauge BR Mk1 suburban coaches are the 9 compartment short 57ft type, for use through the "Widened Lines" Metropolitan tunnels between Moorgate & either St. Pancras or Kings Cross. Not the regular 10 compartment full length 63ft 6in version, as found on other routes around the country. So this prize winning model is of strictly limited appeal !!!!!!!!
