    Bike shop, hunter guy here. E-bikes are an absolute game changer for a lot of people old and young. I'd personally stay away from hub drive motors and opt for mid-drive. Hub drive is ok if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to mid, but is much more difficult to service if you have issues. Think about trying to disconnect the wiring and removing the rear wheel and changing a flat in the woods. And if there are other issues, that means replacing a whole wheel or having one relaced if it fails($$), where as a mid-drive is easy to access and can be serviced externally. Mid-drive also has a smoother onset of power, not jerky at all, and most reputable brands will be or have moved that direction. Other factors to think about is if they are throttle controlled or pedal assist. I would want something with an optional throttle to control sweating, many pedal assist only systems can be modified to throttle. 750 watts is a massive amount of power to have at your hand, most path e-bikes are going to range from 250-500 watts. There is a large amount of federal or state land that does not allow anything with a motor, so check your regs. Cogburn(now defunct) did make a scabbard for your bow, but good luck finding one, but they were cool.

    Since I last left a comment, I purchased the Rad Rover ebike. I absolutely love it. The only downside to it is, I have a 22% grade hill on my property. Unfortunately this is the only way to get to all my hunting spots. This Rad bike can make it up the hill but only with super hard pedaling and being sweaty after the climb. I am thinking about getting the juiced ripcurrent s. Can this bike eat hills for breakfast? LOL. Seriously tho, how is it on really steep offroad hills? Thanks!

      @thomaslehmann5981 3 года назад

      From all my research you just about have to do a mid drive. If you have short, steep hills like I do, it's best to go with the Bafang ultra motor.
      M2S has al the all terrain ultra ht (hard tail) for at least 1k less than any of the big 3 hunting bike companies with that same motor. I can live with black paint instead of camo myself.

    I've been on the fence about an E-bike. I see the Juiced Rip Current comes with fenders- was wondering if mud sprays up your back without a fender on the RadRover. Another point is service if/when needed. Looks like it adds to the fun big time. Thank You, great explanation.

    Do they come with a trailer? They look pretty good. Most regular bikes cost about that nowadays. I remember my first 10 speed cost $149.00 but I’m old now haha

      D. S. I do have a gated road I could use a bike, that’s why I asked about a trailer.

      Yeah I get it...they're not cheap. But your Ford Ranger would have been 3 miles away from where I killed my buck. They don't come with a trailer, but you can purchase one separately and haul out a deer.

    Hi. Love the video. Im in the market for an ebike and am very interested in the juiced ripcurrent s that you have. My question is, can it handle steep hills? Thanks!

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors  4 года назад

      Yes, absolutely. I had to pedal up some hills to help the motor, but it was still WAY easier that pedaling without a motor.

    So why is the title best "BUDGET" e-bike ? If they're both a $2,000 bike one just happened to be on sale. That's not budget at all did you compare it to the overpriced hunting version It's budget but that's still pretty high price

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors  4 года назад

      These are budget bikes. Most "hunting e-bikes" are at least double the price. The only way you could do it cheaper is if you already had a regular pedal bike and you bought a conversion kit.

    I'm looking at M2S all terrain ultra mid drive. Looks like a good value around $3500. Same motor as the Jeep by Quietkat which is over $6K.

I have had zero problems we have 4 guys in our club that have quite cat and they have had nothing but trouble out of them. Hey bud I got a fat tire from bike direct 4.9 gravity
      And from Luna I ordered a 750 watt Bafang mid drive make sure it’s for a fat tire. 52 volt
      battery and it’s really a walk thru and spend as much on up grades as you want. I could shoot you some pic if you are interested. This thing changed the way we hunt , try to get as close to the tree as possible. No walking to help eliminate sweating. Good luck

    What range are you getting on the batteries without pedaling?
    How many times and how often did you have to charge the battery on your 100 mile Missouri trip?

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors  4 года назад +1

      It depends a lot on the terrain. In SE Georgia where it's flat, I can go 20 miles without pedaling at all. In Missouri I could go about 20-25 miles with pedaling about 20%-30% of the time. That's with the Juiced bike with a bigger battery. With the smaller battery on the Rad Rover, that bike was getting about 15 miles pedaling probably 30% of the time.

    Does the fat tire offer any advantages over a standard mountain bike tire? They look cool but they must weigh quite a bit more than a regular tire.

    • @jeffrey7104
      @jeffrey7104 4 года назад +2

      Yes fat tire bikes are way more forgiving.Try using a regular sized tire in snow or mud.

    Perhaps a dumb question here: Can you haul a deer out with them? In a sled, on a cart, or along the ground? If not I can't see an advantage to using one. I manage to get myself and my gear in and out of the woods on foot, no matter how deep I go, with a deer is another story all together.

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors  4 года назад +1

      It would be tough with a hub drive on anything other than flat ground. If you have a mid drive motor...ABSOLUTELY no problem.

      Have a Rover, used it last season, hauled a fully mature doe out of the woods, mile maybe mile and half, took me about 10 minutes, have a game cart rigged up to haul behind the bike, use it to carry my gear in and out, plus the occasional animal. Been riding during the year to strengthen my legs, have a little over 1200 miles, look forward to the woods this season, get you one, you won't regret it.

    So, of these two bikes, do you prefer one over the other? If so, why?

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors  4 года назад

      That's actually tough. The Rad is more comfortable, but the Juiced is more capable. The Rad is less expensive, but the Juiced battery (much of the extra cost) is a lot better. Either one is a great option. I like the longer battery life of the Juiced. If Rad comes out with a bigger battery, and was still significantly less expensive, I'd pick the Rad.
