Really cute. Love the look. Thanks for sharing this idea with us. I'm going to have to give it a try - my family is always complaining that I save "junk" . IT ISN'T JUNK! huh? lol
I've seen several bell dupes but with all due respect, your bells are hands down the absolute best!!! This bell, and the others you made are gorgeous. I love the rustic vibe these give. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity. 😊
For the top where the bell hangs from you can use a sticky foil rol when you finish the foil , the roll thats left is very sterdy ,you can cut it to the right size.
This is awesome!! I have seen those brass bells and they are gorgeous but also have high price tags!! I love the look of these and I wouldn’t feel like I had to rob a bank to get them!!! Thank you so much for sharing this!! ❤
I LOVE this!! I remembered that I had a metal can on my step one winter with rain water from the summer for plants. It rained more into it, and then we had a freeze one night. The bottom of the can was pushed out slightly into a rounded form from the freeze, so I decided to try my inside freezer. After trying different temperatures of water, it turns out that hot tap water filled almost to the top will do the same. Most were just round on one side, so I repeated the process the next day. Two of my cans split, but they still look great as bells❤
Thank you Helen, I am going to try this idea and I will let you all know how it goes, my goal is to round out the can so that it will still sound nice with maybe a metal clapper, happy holidays 🎄🎄🎄🎄😁☃️☃️
@@TheKatshecould a crunched up roll of tin foil for top and clapper work? Then painted? Just crunched into a dome and glued in place and for clapper just a small crunched ball, and glued?
Awesome! Thank you!. Funny I have an extra large can from thanksgiving I saved . I’ll be making a bell from that one too soon as I figure out what to use as the topper to make it look rounded. 😁😁😁
Your bell looked great before you were halfway finished. I really like it and am going to try it this year. Thank you so much for the tutorial video. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I was so skeptical at first, but I absolutely love the look you got with these “bells”! i’m gonna have to make some!! thank you for making it so simple!
Thank you thank you so much. You are the very first one that actually showed things a person with me. What a novel idea? Caught my idol is the finished project. I’ve gotta get the things, but I am going to make it.
Just had an idea, you could put your spools on a paper towel holder (table top kind) so they don't roll of the table. I love this craft looks pretty! Ty
Frances...just about to say the same thing. Make a hole in to top of the can and the polystyrene, thread some string through for the dangly bit and tie a brass curtain ring onto the top 😄🇬🇧
Ah yes, I had to look that up lol. But yes Noah bells are a type of meditation bell and made of Iron and have a wood clapper… who knew…thanks for the info jekbot, much appreciated 😁😁😀 Thanks for watching🎄☃️🦃
I would use something metal for the mallet on the inside. It could be an old, but long, flat-ended screw or even some old silverware cutlery would be cool- especially if it had an antique design on the handle. No need to cut into the cutlery. Just hang it by the head (ie the spoon or fork end) and let the handle hang down beneath the can. If you make an all-ceramic (including air drying clay) bell, you can also make the mallet from clay. I might do this as I want to make small bells to spread across a garland. As I want them quite small it might be hard to find tins that are small enough.
Maybe try plastic wine glass and cut stem off for smaller bells…I will experiment with different materials for the clapper but it seems when you add the round top it takes away some of the sound if that makes sense… if I could round out the bottom of the can or push it out some how that would keep the sound from being muffled . Thanks for watching and for the ideas, have a great holiday!🎄🎄🎄☃️😁
@@TheKatshe Plastic looks like a good idea if you only want the LOOK of a bell. Unfortunately, as a 30 year veteran as a music teacher I just have to have it make a nice sound. Plastic won't do that for me. I once had a student make an instrument (for an assignment on how sound works). His parents had found a half dozen old silver communion wine cups. They cut off the plate at the bottom and attached them by their stems to an old mug tree. They made the best sound when hit with a soft mallet! A lot of that stuff is discarded these days in Australia as people don't like these old-fashioned designs and don't want to have to spend time polishing the silver.
He visto muchos tutoriales de como hacer estos cencerros.Este es el mejor tutorial sencillo y sin tanta historia, el detalle de la tachas lo hace más real.Lo haré para navidad me encantó. Felicidades buen trabajo 👍
love it thanks for the tutorial, a neighbor asked me to save some cans for her and she never collected them I will do this and possibly send her a picture or gift her 2
Love it. I probably drill a hole on the top of the can at the beginning and add the cord for the stick first. Can't wait to try this. Thank you.
Same here Frances, I will drill hole first next time .. thank you so much for watching . Please have a wonderful holiday ☃️🦃

Awesome, thanks so much for watching. Happy holidays🎄🎄🎄😁😁😁
I know right! I need them too😅
Can also use the little plastic cups that fruit comes in, fruit cups! I made one and used clay to form it to a bell shape, looks so real!
Ah yes I was gonna make some with my fruit cups for the tree, I do like the clay idea too ! Thanks so much for watching

Could maybe use a cinnamon stick for the clapper for a nice scent. These are lovely!
I’m excited to make these for my “ winter decor” after the holidays are over.
Have fun and thanks for watching😁😁😁
You can use a fishing weight to actual have the bell work
