- Has the record for the longest trail centre trail in the UK been taken by the newly opened Tarland Trails Pittenderich in Aberdeenshire?
At over 5.5km it's certainly a contender and outclasses any of the trails that are similar in length. By our research that includes Kermit at Bike Park Wales and Blue Doon at Nevis Range (we've seen length estimates of 5km up to 8kkm). What else should be considered?
Theres flow all the way down from the top red trails to the blue sections which finish with Party Time before dropping into the bottom field trail named Snakes (see our other video for this section of trail).
A drop of 400m ensures that there's good gradient all the way down with only a short climb in the middle.
Location and Trail: Tarland Trails, Aberdeenshire - Linking HIGH PRESSURE / BERMUDA / BON GRIPPER / SPINE / HOLY COW / PARTY TIME / SNAKE together for an incredible 5.5km of trail!

I was there yesterday and boy is it amazing! Plus the black trail "Fool's Gold" is on another level, insanely good fun!
It’s outrageously good isn’t jt
That looks awesome.
This looks so bloody good!! Can not wait to get up there and do it!
Make it a weekend! One day isn't enough.
It’s got to be said that there’s so much high quality natural trail close by that this should only be one location on a trip to the area. Ballater and HBR, Aboyne and Pitfichie to name a few. Check out the Collectives back catalog if you’re not familiar with these trails.
@@neilstables6450 Thanks in advance Neil! We live in Fife and are at the start of our downhill trails this coming year. Again thanks for the recomendos! 👌
@@neilstables6450 Absolutely. Aberdeenshire has so much amazing riding and then there's the Cairngorms! Too may places to list but we've covered a few of them in the past.
That looks epic!
Great footage of Spine. The only part I've not ridden yet.
We were lucky to be allowed down this early!
@@TheContourCollective I was in the group riding with Chris that day but we didn’t get to do Spine. Looks great though. Thanks for the preview 👌
Only 2 weeks an I'll be there, can't wait!
Some trail for one trail 🔥
Blue Doon is 7km…but 5 1/2 of that is utter gash! Tarland looks amazing…if only Nevis had got CRC in to to theirs!
That could explain why there's varying lengths shared online ;) The budget available for Tarland far exceeded that of the Blue Doon from what we've heard, as did the build time and if you go on the old adage that you can have two of either Cost, Time or Quality it's clear why Tarlands so good. A quality product which took 1 year to create and in the region of £1million to construct. It's exciting to have so many trails in Scotland though, options are endless.
I always thought Golspie was up there - but a quick check on Strava puts the descent just under 5k. (It's still worth a visit but TT2 is on another level!).
Golspie descent is a good one. One of the originals. Would be great to see more up there.
