You should place the sump pump on a small patio block or something similar so the intake portion of the pump is standing off of the pit floor reducing the chances of sediment or debris blocking or damaging the pump.
Hi There, Then after the pump shits off all the water left in the pipe before it exits the home will fall back into the pit causing the pump to run more often. A check vale is the right way to set one up. Hope this helps!
My pump looks more like the one in the thumb nail and has two pipes leading down into it with a lot more bends than the one in this video, if mine looked like this I could knock it out in 5 minutes but as it stands I can’t even get the lid off
Great explanation...easy and to the point. I feel confident doing this myself...thank you!
Thanks for watching!

What if your pump pipes don't have a check valve?

👍
A flat-bladed screwdriver? We call them flatheads sir.
DO NOT Lift pump by the pipe..... Reach in the pit and lift pump by the pump handle.
Bullshit, pal!
Terrible lid design. I rather see down into the pit what's going on. Also, you need a paver down there so the pump sit flat.
