Shaped boards are inherently fun in this current era of skateboarding. They are both nostalgic for some and unusual for others. A popsicle has been normalized by a fad in a culture where you would have been judged riding anything else. Nowadays you skate whatever you want, plus the tricks look so much gnarlier on some old school set-ups!
I skate so many shapes, and skating the park the other day on my pool shape 8.75 dogtown set up, was sick flew around so much better. Wheels helped too. 60mm Powell wheels.
I've been riding these shapes for the last 5 years, love them for everything. I grew up on traditional street style skate board. But these, these are something super special. Skating a Santa Cruz rn, had a foundation before that.
Christopher is a great ambassador for skateboarding! He makes it look fun and creative! I think the look down element of equipment is important for your mindset. When I look down and I am stoked with how my board and shoes look, I have a better mindset and a better skate. I understand the optimised shape of popsicle boards, but I hate how they look. I am always on the lookout for any 8.5 - 9.0 in shapes. I am not a brand snob. Variety adds to the fun factor for me.
Currently skating the Steve Saiz pink totem pole deck that Chris skates a lot. He was my inspiration to get into shapes. I can tell you after skating it for the past month its so much fun. I am way more dialed in on transition skating it. It’s harder for me to ollie on but it will just take getting used to. Ironically. My kickflips and heelflips are better on it. Because it doesn’t have a kick up nose, I find it easier to flick through the board. Iv always had a bad habit of mobbing kickflips. Having a flat nose feels easier for me to flick through. I bought the Nicky Guerro Powell deck at my local today. It has a slightly kicked nose maybe that’s the happy medium for me. Overall, I don’t see myself going back to popsicle for the foreseeable future. Watching Chris skate anything just looks like the most fun to me. Would love to get half as good as him some day ✌️ 🖤
shape boards are better for skating everything. i thought you knew. when i started skating the later 80s halfpipes and mini ramps were quite easily accessible. within a 3-5 mile radius of my home there was like 6 of them. two were 8 feet tall the others were about 4 feet tall.

Being a skater from the 80’s. I love seeing people shred on old school shapes. That being said I enjoy the popsicle shape over old school shapes.
When you’re Christopher it don’t matter wtf you skate. Dude so good

Chris is by far my favorite transition skater. The guy is just super talented. Amazing dude for sure
I always love watching Chris shred. He's something else. And his style is unparalleled.
That kid is gnarly at skating
Chris destroys it all !!
Is it better? “Yes and no, I mean maybe but probably not actually yes but probably no and yes”
From a viewer standpoint it is easier to track the board movements with a shaped board.
AWESOME!
Everything looks way more rad on that board.
cool session
“I wouldn’t say easier it’s fun though” could’ve just ended the video right there
Let's see a noseblunt though
