Dear Michael, thank you so much for your podcasts. The fact is that I became an artist more than 25 years ago, I have a Russian school. I'm your age, by the way. But I haven't worked with paints for about 10 years. Self-employment, computer design, photoshop, Corel painter, web design - I applied all my God-given creative abilities in my personal business, and this gave me money and freedom - I was not mistaken in this, I have a free life and I, like you, have a great BMW. But art, more precisely, the fact that I have moved away from my origins has been bothering me all these years. And recently, about 3 months ago, I started watching your videos. And you brought me back for the easel! Again, as in the 1990s, I greedily mix oil paints, passion for accurate, precise work - everything came back in a couple of weeks, and as then, the same wonderful mood and lightness in my soul. I have 14 paintings in my work now, the process is going on as before 👍 Now the search for a motive for a new picture worries me much more than news and world politics. And it's thanks to you, Michael. I live in Russia, from which I cannot buy a subscription on your website, but as soon as the opportunity arises, I will be your student. Despite my many years of experience, I really like your technique, I started working with it even faster and more. Thank you very much, my friend!
I really like being able to see the photograph you're working from. It helps me to see how you find the midtones for your underpainting, and seeing how you create all the details, but also change some things to make a more interesting composition. Like making the river have less rocks and more water, makes the scene in the painting much better.
Michael thanks your helping a lot I almost forgot everything in paintings world I didn’t painting any more I lose the practice, thanks to your videos I started to enjoy again in my retirement days yes a I am older 79 years old but my paints start to looking good
Really great lesson that covers exactly what I need to help me improve such paintings. However, I'm painting a Puffin close up so how do i do whst you xid in your demonstration, but with more life size grass??
7:11 I was wondering what you did to prevent your arm from getting tired from painting all that grass, the slidey arm rest is brilliant. I often have to paint fine details close to the edge and have nothing to steady my arm on so I support it with my other hand, I might make something like that.
Gracias, gracias infinitas por la maravilla que me muestras. Muchos saludos deseándote un muy buen bienestar en tu vida y que todo este cariño lo recibas por ser tan generoso de compartir tu trabajo
I am a relativly new artist that fell into the craft in trying to find a constructive means to deal with grief and I just found you, and am wondering if I can adapt your lessons and techniques to acrylic painting? Thank you.
Brilliant! I really have been looking for a more in depth explanation on how to create realistic grass, so thank you very much! Can you do a snowy landscape some time and explain how you do that? I find I end up playing with different shades, but the details are a bit more challenging.

If you look at his list of videos you'll see that he's done a number of snowy landscapes, and of course they're all really good.
@@davidgibson9405 thnx, I'll check it out.
The problem with painting with oil paints on acrylic paints is that after a few years the oil paint peels off
@@lenny108 surely the paint can't peel off otherwise he wouldn't be able to sell them would he?
@@kevinclark4165 It takes years, but at one point the oilpaint falls off an acrylic surface.
Wow sir extent that s real nature painting sir
