It's good that there are some hams out there who are willing to rebuild these classic radios. About the time I had purchased a Kenwood TS-520S, a friend of mine got a part-time job in a radio store in Colorado Springs in order to purchase a new Yaesu FT-101EE. He had that radio for a lot of years.
Random thought… Yaesu made board extenders so you could raise the board out of those edgecard connectors. It was very handy to do in-circuit board repair. Kenwood had them for the similar vintage TS-820 series. Seeing the edgecard connectors reminded me of that It’s quite impressive how through Paul is with communication

I think it's important to keep these classics alive; it's part of our heritage in amateur radio. Thanks for the view and comment.
Awesome stuff Bob 👍
Thanks Ape. Hope to get set up and start making contacts next week.
Coming along nicely. I was lucky when I bought my FT-101E , it included the AM filter and crystal.
It certainly is; I was a little bummed about the AM filter. It may not be my last FT-101...so there's hope.
@ I’m sure you could find the filter if you wanted one .
Happy Thanksgiving Bob. Thanks for sharing the refurb! 73
