actually? a carbon copy of the Western bulldogs season that won their last 6 or so games to sneak into 7th.. then to go undefeated in the finals to win the flag.. so? i imagine it happens every 7 or 8 years or so..

@@METCALF456 slump? Possibly overrated they came 5th, means only 4 side's were better than them over the entire course of the season. WB ended up winning it from closer to the middle of the table on 7th position ..

I hate Carlton, but seeing their season turnaround and then their finals performances, I've watched this more times than I care to admit 😅
This win meant so much to me as a 29yr old supporter that has never seen the blues get to a prelim! And the way the we got to the finals was just unbelievable! Coming from nowhere at round 13 and then having to win almost every game for the rest of the year to make finals! It just felt like we were unstoppable!!

This was easily one of the best games we’ve had in the past 10 years
The West Coast game against Port was a great one a few years ago. That went into overtime. Still, this has to be in the top 3 for me. I just hope they can make it one more step closer. That crowd was the largest in over 20 years or something like that for Carlton. Well deserved win for sure.
Youve gotta be kidding. That was a rubbish game for this time of year. Turnovers constantly followed by rubbish kicking. Panicked decision making from the first minute. Either team would be getting smashed by Brisbane regardless.

I know Gawn had the break in his foot which affected his kicking. How gutsy is Docherty after his shoulder popped out. Acres playing with a cracked Clavicle, Cripps broken rib and 5 wacks on the nose, Weeters with concussion and his hand injury all played so bravely. Hats off to the entire playing group. I can't wait to see what Walsh and co can do with an uninterrupted preseason. Let's keep it going Blues!

Congrats to Carlton, hope they do well next week. As a Melbourne supporter obviously disappointed however Melbourne only have themselves to blame, this atrocious goal kicking has been their biggest problem this year, so many games lost due to inaccuracy, and today on the big stage they let themselves down badly. This needs to be addressed going forward otherwise they may not play finals next year.

Trust me mate Melbourne will still play Finals next year. Hell they will probably still make top 4. However just like this year and the one past they will find themselves out in either straight sets or week

Round 15 we were 15th! We have won 11 out of last 12 matches! All the commentary was welll you beat bottom 8 sides. We beat port ( oh they had injuries) we beat dees and pies and after that those doubters were quietened. Up the baggers!!!!!

I've never lost my voice so quickly... as a bagger, I couldn't speak. This was the best win ive seen the boys manage to hold on to in a long time. After the game, spoke with Andrew walker's dad, the lads were the same, house full of x blues players and a massive sigh of relief!!! Go the blues!!!!!!!

Melbourne kicked themselves out of the game once again. The game will be more talked about how Melbourne lost it than how Carlton won it, they did everything right but couldn’t convert inside 50. Full credit goes to Carlton who looked hungrier for the win, knowing that it will be the first time in 40 odd years. A huge standout for Carlton was Motlop, from only being a substitute several weeks ago to being a shining star in the forward line of Carlton as a small forward.
How in the world have they been so inefficient inside 50 the last two seasons when efficiency was one of their greatest strengths during their 2021 Premiership winning season.

Melbourne threw the game away, they should have won by 5 goals. Not just the 17 points, Vineys shanked kick in the last minute, Gawn touching a Melbourne goal on the goal line, and Pickett giving away 2x 50 metres, and missing 2 set shots he would normally take.
Carlton was super lucky, and didnt really deserve to win.

In fairness to Gawn I think he may have had the mind set that the 2 Carlton defenders were in a position to touch the ball, I think he was trying to knock back into play to one of his team mates to have a second shot. Thats the only explaination I can come up with.

Mckay & Martin come in too which gives Carlton more avenues to goal, even if Harry has been missing alot, he could fire, and he'll be a big marking option and take pressure off Curnow. Also, Carltons midfield can definitely beat Brisbanes, and if they do it for longer they can win. Obviously a huge challenge but, will be hard to stop Cameron & Daniher.
