Pies supporter here. No excuses, WCE were the better team and deserved to win. If we are being honest, if WC kicked straight in the last quarter it would have been over then. Terrible umpiring this game, but for both sides. Devo about the loss, but was one of the best Grand Finals in a long time

Absolute classic of a grand final. Really sucks that either team had to lose a game like that, but given that someone had to, of course it's only right that it was Collingwood ;) So many clutch moments down the stretch by the Eagles. Awesome.

what I actually like is the humility shown from so many supporters commenting from both teams on a lot of different social media outlets... as hard as it would've been to be a pies supporter and for west coast to have 3 of there best players out be 5 goals down in the first quarter with 70,000 spectators against you, playing 5,000 kms from your home town and win the match in the way they did you cant possibly not give the eagles the biggest amount of respect possible... and a lot if the comments show this... both teams really deserved the win, but what the eagles had to over come is nothing short of hard work, self belief and to never give up ..

What a bloody mark by McGovern and Ryan.
When McGovern marked it was only because his teammate was blocking for him. Should have been a free to the Collingwood player and a shot a goal for them.
Ryan's, yes that was great as it was actually a fair mark.
Buddha Mack no actually Jetta and the Collingwood player for fighting for the ball they didn’t know McGovern was coming from behind.
Watch it again. Look how Jetta takes his eyes off the ball long before (ball still about 25m away high in the air) it arrives and he watches McGovern. He knows exactly where McGovern is and what he is doing. Take your eyes off the ball and it's a hold, not fighting for position.
Even before that you can see he's not watching the ball, he initially sees the kick then turns to watch his player to make contact, then he only turns once to look at the ball when it's beginning to descend about 30M away in the air, after that he is not looking at the ball. He also doesn't try to contest the mark in any sort of way.
Go frame by frame and it's clear

You are kidding right? West Coast have been using the illegal blocking all year and getting away with it. You could clearly see it twice in the space of a minute in the last play. When McGovern marked it was only because his teammate was blocking for him. Should have been a free to the Collingwood player and a shot a goal for them. Then it was used again so that the Eagles could mark in their forward line. They used it lots against Melbourne too I noticed.
I'm unbiased viewer too as I support neither team. I'm just sick of all the illegal tactics creeping in that gets overlooked by the umps.

Pretty amazing play by both teams. They put all of their effort in for this wonderful afternoon playing at the G. West Coast Survived not having some of the top players like Nic Nat. Tbh Jack Darling, Mason Cox and Josh Kennedy were the best players for the game at the G. Coming from a Carlton Supporter

As I was informed by my parents when I was only a toddler (in the late 70s) that I was a St Kilda fan & we were/are almost invariably awful, I decided to adopt a finals team during the late '80s, so as soon as the Eagles arrived, I adopted them!! Loved Chris Mainwaring the most - RIP.

All of my Mum's side of the family are Richmond fans, as her father - a Swedish immigrant - was a Richmond fan from the day that he arrived in Oz but all of my old chook's friends were St Kilda social club members back in the day, so she became a Saint & as I'm a lifelong MCC fan, I attended our GF losses vs the Crows & Cats in '97 & '09, respectively but a major accident prevented me from attending the tied game & following loss to 'you know who' the following season - thank God!!

(I am a pies supporter) Honestly I am quite impressed with Collingwood performance but West Coast were the better side even though the umpiring was questionable on both sides West Coast proved they were the better side. Collingwood made it far from people saying Buckley should be sacked and how we were able to make it to the top 3 after many unfortunate events. Hopefully next year we’ll come out stronger year.

And Howe dragged the ball in right in front of goals and the umps never gave the Eagles a free. Collingwood then immediately went up the other end and kicked a goal. That's a 2 goal swing thank's too the umps. The umpires don't always get it right, but things generally even themselves out in the end.

Not much to cheer about right now so here I am again.
one of the greatest feelings of my life was the moment I knew the Eagles were going to win the grand final. I thought they were still a chance of losing with 10 seconds left in the game but the very moment I saw the ball come back the eagles way I knew. All the anxiety and nerves I had felt suddenly disappeared and it was nothing but joy and relief. I'm not even a Eagles fan I just really hate Collingwood
What a amazing game!! Not a supporter of any of the clubs (dogs fan😂) but wow, what a game. Two very worthy opponents. One of the best grandfinals I’ve witnessed (2nd to when my dogs won in 2016) congratulations to west coast and it’s fans, and to Collingwood fans, head up amazing season from you boys.
