In the UK version Gordon did an early revisit after a few weeks but Piccolo Teatro shuttered within days of the initial visit. This left a Scottish immigrant who was brought in to be the chef (this was in Paris) stranded without work and the owner ultimately became a prostitute. In the end, the restaurant location isn't there anymore. The name changed and went bankrupt as well. The only place that you can find this woman is on social media networks.
Not just that, but they were hiring and firing workers at a rapid speed. Ramsay talked to a former waitress and she said she was at least 50 go in and out in a 1 1/2 years.

No joke I was at a culinary school in Scottsdale Arizona, and they actually had a job offering up for one day for Amy's baking company, and I almost took it. This was about 2008 mind you.
So, Amy didn't make any of the desserts. She outsourced to another bakery and just took credit for the desserts. The other bakery called the producers and told them about it, so Amy canceled their contract.
Restaurant was shut down. Sam lost his US citizenship after an investigation and apparently they live in Israel where Sam was originally from. I'm not sure about the divorce thing.
I can never get over them calling customers names, trying to make them pay for food they never got, tried to FIGHT the customers, attempted to call the police on said customers and then she cries like they did nothing wrong. The definition of audacity lol
6:21 that IS the producer for the show. He was trying to get Samy to calm down. They basically didn't tell Gordon ANYTHING that happened the night before. The crew also paid for everyone's food that night
When he was yelling at Ramsay, he claimed to be a gangster, and that he would have Ramsay "fucked up." He was kicked out of France. He won't let anyone else handle the money. He nearly has a stroke when Amy threatens to call the police. Yeah, it was pretty obvious that something hinky was afoot in that place. Yeah, those two deserve each other. I wonder how they're keeping body and soul together in Israel, now that they've been deported? Well, whatever the case, we know that none -- absolutely *none* -- of the problems were Amy's fault.
What's even crazier with this couple is that after Gordon left they tried to capitalize on their infamy for being the only restaurant Gordon wouldn't help. Didn't go over so well.

I literally just watched this episode last night. The reason why the girl was fired was because Amy put up an order during the dinner service and said the wrong table at first. When she said the correct one, that girl asked kindly "Are you sure?" And she said that she asked with a huge attitude and fired the girl on the spot.
Nah, the worker said 'at least 50'. It was *Samy* who, when called out on that figure, corrected it to "one hundred or more". Which, why on earth is that a thing you would admit to
Plus when people find out Ramsey is in town filming for the restaurant, more customers come in to check it out. Definitely wanted the clout, especially since they sold souvenirs of being in the show after Gordon left.
Wish they had called the police. Amy and old man sammy could have been charged for aggravated assault or something with how they were threatening those customers and all up on their face

Just to chime in, that "fog machine" thing is actually just a "mister" system and is quite common in Arizona (where this restaurant was). The premise is that when it's hot (and AZ *does* get hot) and dry out, there's a system that essentially mists the area directly around the building (particularly the entrance) to help provide a cooling effect to customers by getting them just a touch wet and then entering a building with circulating air to evaporate the water.
I can attest to this. I live in Phoenix and the Summers (ironically my last name) are the absolute worst here. Last year it didn't start getting below 90 degrees until around November, though we do have the occasional week where we're in the 60s/70s/80s, for just a week though, or around Monsoon season. I have misters in my backyard, except they don't work.
We have similar in Australia. I live in Sydney and restaurants have misters around the outdoor eating areas - so you can eat outdoors, no aircon, but the misters make it cool on a hot day
Ha ha ha that woman is a case study for narcissism: fake perfect front for ppl, unable to take criticism takes it as an attack and attacks back, love bombs partner with praise they wanna hear (he was drowning in girls), and backstabs anyone loyal to them, shaming them and dumping them (girl staff). Well at least that jerk has what he deserves!
She had been fired during the dinner service for asking "are you sure?" to Amy when she was giving a table order. Amy freaked out on her, that's why she was crying. Sammy was being weird, he was trying to coax her not to leave and that she wasn't fired while his wife is just yelling at her for being "disrespectful" and questioning her. Gordon later on another day met up with her outside the restaurant and she spilled the tea on how horrible they are as bosses.
She can claim it all she wants, just because she's in it she can't do a damn thing about it. She owns zip of the videos and they way they used them was transformative. She's dumbass
The funny thing was, when this episode aired for the first time. Kitchen nightmare fans dog piled on the review boards and Amy kept responding in very vile ways. Then Amy and Sam used an alternate account created that day to try to defend the restaurant. People also posted links to the place she bought her pastries from. It was a fun day of reading to say the least. Edit: rephrased a sentence.
Amy actually got caught displaying cakes that were store bought and brought in and then claiming that they were hers. She did the same with photos of cakes on her Facebook and Instagram pages displaying cakes that were not hers and claiming that they were hers. So the thing that she says she's famous for she didn't even do.
He only yells at adults, because adults should know better. If you're going to serve food to people, you have a big responsibility to not only make quality product, but to make a SAFE product. Often when he yells, it's because one or both of those responsibilities is not being fulfilled.

The employee that Amy fired during the show said that they did regularly clean a lot and the kitchen was normally that clean and organized. I assume that's why Amy was always so angry at her customers: they made her mess up her clean, organized kitchen by asking that food be prepared in it.
The baking company was actually a front for samys money laundering. Thats why he never let anyone handle the cash and why he was telling amy not to call the cops at the beginning.

@@grahamevans6428 I agree with you. Unfortunately, people who own million dollar companies and spend any time on premises usually have staff walking on eggshells because with power and money comes ego. Okay, so I've watched the original episode multiple times, and I never really thought about it before. But that guy was waiting an hour for a single pizza. But like, that couldn't be right, pizzas don't take that long to make, surely. So I googled it. It largely depends on the thickness of the crust, and the heat of the oven, but the in general, a pizza made from scratch in a normal home oven set to 400-475 farenheit will typically take 30-45 minutes to cook (thinner crusts take less time, while thicker may take longer.) Okay, an hour wait is still a bit much, but at least it could be normal for a "homemade" pizza. (And while I despise Amy, she was clearly making the pizzas herself, though weather the dough/ingredients themselves were fresh of frozen is impossible to say.) But then I realized she was using a pizza oven. She's got one with at least four slots in it, which means it's likely designed for restaurant use. How long does an average size pizza take to cook in a pizza oven? Five to ten minutes. Fifteen max, if the crust is extra thick. Amy's pizza is thin. It would have only taken five minutes to cook. Granted, she was also working on other orders at the same time, but even if we give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she has her pizza oven set to a lower temp so she can more easily pace the preparation and output of orders, it still doesn't make sense. How does a thin crust pizza take over an hour to cook? In a literal PIZZA OVEN?! There is just no logical reason why. Either the oven was broken, set to a super low temp for some strange reason, or Amy was incredibly incompetent and didn't actually know how to make pizzas/use the oven properly. But the kicker that makes it even worse was that another table got undercooked pizza. GORDON gets an undercooked pizza. HOW?! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?! Amy please. I need answers. I'm just so befuddled.
None of you have worked in a restaurant before, if you get 10 pizzas at the same time the last pizza would take a substantially long time to make plus you have to stretch the dough and sauce and top the pizza. So more like 20 min per pizza and only 3-4 max at a time so an hour to an hour and a half would be normal for a quantity that big. Also 10 or more people showing up to a restaurant is pretty likely not to mention Gordon being there and phone and online orders.
@@derplameowza almost every KN episode the guests know he's going to be there. There were at least 14 people in there that night Plus phone and online orders. Prep....what prep you can't make the pizza before its ordered these aren't the frozen pizzas you take home. You have to stretch it out, sauce it, top it ect. Literally the only prep you have to do is cut bellpeppers ect. and make the dough a day before. As someone who's worked in 3 different pizza restaurants I would know, an hour wait isn't crazy for 10+ people (if it was staffed properly and didn't have looney management.) So be nicer restaurant staff.
@@xXINFERNOII7Xx I totally agree with you on being nice to restaurant staff. I would honestly be terrified working there because of the owners. Thank you for this. Most people don't realize, all restaurants are understaffed it is literally the business model, and all restaurant workers are working for slave wages and can't even afford the food they make/serve. This restaurant is the only one that Gordon Ramsay has ever walked out of. The owner Sammy steals the tips. The cook Amy doesn't know how to cook properly and acts like she knows everything but does the "woe is me" act so much that it becomes intolerable.

I literally just watched this episode last night. The reason why the girl was fired was because Amy put up an order during the dinner service and said the wrong table at first. When she said the correct one, that girl asked kindly "Are you sure?" And she said that she asked with a huge attitude and fired the girl on the spot.
Also, he met up with a couple of previous workers and found out that over the course of a year they had hired and fired over 100 people.
Nah, the worker said 'at least 50'. It was *Samy* who, when called out on that figure, corrected it to "one hundred or more".

They are always shocked when he says their kitchen is a nightmare. When they applied to be on KITCHEN NIGHRMARES

I have misters in my backyard, except they don't work.
p cool!
Dude, that's genius for beating the heat. Kinda reminds me of that dude that got set on fire in that RDJ Sherlock Holmes movie too though.

He misses his homie 😭
Ken you better go visit Buff from time to time haha! 💯
True🥺🥺🥺
Too bad it's closed!
The context to the girl crying in the episode is that she asked if they were sure that the order was right, because they kept messing up on orders.
Yeah she said "are you sure?"
And Amy fires her for that.

Ken: “what’re they expecting him to tell them?”
They were expecting Gordon to come in and say they were amazing, and everyone else were crazy haters. Once they didn’t receive the praise they thought they deserved they went berserk on Gordon too.
There's nothing like Gordon giving people the intense criticism that they need 😂
he does what we wish we could😂
Really wasn't that intense tbh ...
At the beginning I was like man she has crazy eyes. Then she started talking to Gordon and I am 100% sure she is crazy.
Gordon realized in about three seconds after the kiss that he was standing in front of a crazy lady.
"goodness! we'll catch up on the haters...umm.. can I see the kitchen?"
The "fog machine" is a mister and they are fairly common here in Arizona. Waste of water, imo, but they are effective in cooling down an area. You really appreciate them when it is 115º and you are walking outdoors.
Arizona sounds like a miserable place, no offense.
@@jeffpro8 None taken. It is nice here 8 months of the year, mid-70's or so. Just the summers can be brutal.
@@jeffpro8 you get used to it lol
my grandparents have the misters on even during thanksgiving sometimes when we eat outside, it’ll be like 80 degrees while we’re celebrating fall. i can wear sweaters and jeans comfortably in 90 degree weather but i literally shiver from the cold wearing the same outfit in 70 degree weather- living in arizona is weird, man
I feel like the part where she fires the waitress for no reason is the worst part and they didn’t even get to see the beginning of it. Like she was just doing what she was told and Amy went off on her like she was in the right… it’s a bit too late to react but that’s why I hated them so much
Yeah, all the girl was trying to do is confirm what Amy said
To be fair, if I asked my manager (the owner of the upscale restaurant I work at) “are you sure?” I’d be in deep shit. It’s a slap in the face when anyone even remotely implies them being incompetent.
@@TheWholeEntireCake that’s fair, I mean it still is bad business practice cuz the ppl in charge don’t always know everything to do, especially when they can’t figure out simple stuff like in this video… so sometimes it does help (and it shouldn’t be the reason to get fired)
@@grahamevans6428 I agree with you. Unfortunately, people who own million dollar companies and spend any time on premises usually have staff walking on eggshells because with power and money comes ego. It probably doesn’t help that in many restaurants servers are easy to find and hire so the owners have no qualms about firing any employee for sarcasm or a menial remark. What my boss says is treated as gospel. Many bosses have fragile egos and asking them if they’re sure about a table number where the food needs to be taken is considered disrespectful to their intelligence. It sucks!
@@TheWholeEntireCake She said “are you sure” because she gave her the wrong table number 3 times…she was confirming. Owning a business doesn’t lend you the right to treat people poorly and be on a power trip the whole time. That girl put up with so much shit and embarrassment just to get fired over Amy’s incompetence.
I'd rather be single forever, than be married to someone like Amy
I think the word you're looking for is "than" it's another story otherwise XD.
But, they’re a match made in heaven or hell depending on how you look at it.
What made me realize that Amy's Baking Company was a lost cause was that Gordon never raised his voice. He never yelled or shouted... there wasn't a reason to.
_"The Fury of the Master Chef,"_ anyone?
Okay, so I've watched the original episode multiple times, and I never really thought about it before. But that guy was waiting an hour for a single pizza. But like, that couldn't be right, pizzas don't take that long to make, surely.
So I googled it. It largely depends on the thickness of the crust, and the heat of the oven, but the in general, a pizza made from scratch in a normal home oven set to 400-475 farenheit will typically take 30-45 minutes to cook (thinner crusts take less time, while thicker may take longer.)
Okay, an hour wait is still a bit much, but at least it could be normal for a "homemade" pizza. (And while I despise Amy, she was clearly making the pizzas herself, though weather the dough/ingredients themselves were fresh of frozen is impossible to say.)
But then I realized she was using a pizza oven.
@@xXINFERNOII7Xx Gordon wasn’t in the store at the time. The store wasn’t busy. And as a former restaurant worker there’s this thing called prep.
I've had to wait a long time for a pizza and it isn't really something I let get to me. The only problem at the time was while I was waiting for it I hadn't eaten in 24 hours and then stood up.
Thank you for this. Most people don't realize, all restaurants are understaffed it is literally the business model, and all restaurant workers are working for
slave wages and can't even afford the food they make/serve. (Except a very small percentage usually fine dining but most workers don't qualify).
They were NOT made by Amy. She ordered them lmao she is nuts
I came here to say exactly this. Chef Ramsay did some digging after he walked out on them and found out she never made those desserts.
They literally look from a fine bakery. She would spend solid days, making all those different desserts from scratch 🤣💯
Imagine someone sending their french fries back to the kitchen because they were garnished with cat hair, they be like: “you should feel HONORED. Peasant, be gone from our restaurant”
You give them the side eye next thing you know you’re a weenie
I’ve never wanted to punch someone so badly…other then Garrick
Garrick is definitely the award winner for "most punchable person ever".

*You guys, it's the comment that says that Amy can't handle any level of criticism well. She commented underneath, which is hilarious because it just further proves our point.* 😂
Where did she comment?

I never understand why places like this act like their customers are the enemies.
There's a bit in the episode where it comes out that Amy doesn't actually bake the deserts. She literally buys them from a supermarket and says she made them.
I was literally thinking that :D
That was revealed later. Neither episode acknowledged jt.
I think that was the raviolis that she admitted that it was store bought.
@Amy Bouzaglo the only total lie here is you being able to talk to cats
@Amy Bouzaglo You're so miserable it's crazy
In that opening where they yelled at the customer, I was SO hoping everyone inside would have got up and left, lol.
I would have left as soon as he started yelling
Gordon was literally calm the entire episode, he just couldnt even believe at what he was dealing with and couldnt even get angry to Amy and Sammy because there was no point to be angry at them as they were too delusional to understand anything.
How is this the calmest Gorden has ever been and yet the most angry someone has been on the show
That's how you know it's bad
It's the i'm not mad i'm just disappointed type of anger
He literally pulled the parent move of
" I'm past angry, .....you won't listen, and Im disappointed "
