I agree with what was said and even about those very ideas, but let's face it; the book is more about the decadence of nations at peace that forget war exists than it is about the benefits of an internationalist world that avoids war; the survivor guilt; the danger of the appeal to pity and the fairly violent reaction to those that fall for it; the virtues of well grounded, humanist, respectful values (spoiler: the way one suicide was avoided, or rather delayed..)
It's a book about decadence and hopelessness at the eve of WW2. At a time of his life he already started to lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel, which will lead to its own suicide. Hell, maybe it's an early suicide note: what would prevent it, what would confirm it. And it was confirmed.

Well, helping immigrants in ww2 time meant. Helping legal citizens avoid illegal oppression. Not helping illegal international felons skip foundations within society has set up.
Zweig would be embarrassed that his mission in life has been manipulated and twisted by communists to help the new ottoman empire wage global genocide.

It’s a short promo for a theatrical adaptation of the book. There’s another promo on this channel of the director talking some about the book. As it stands, they are meant to be viewed together, with one promo outlining the book from the perspective of the man adapting it and the other attempting to determine its place within both Zweig’s body of work and the historical context of the time
