There are a lot of commercial fishermen that use traps in the Florida Keys, however, I believe you have to have a commercial license to catch Florida lobster with a trap.
I normally go out of that same boat launch. Do you have any spots or areas to attempt my first lobstering attempt? I only have snorkeling gear currently but looking to get some sort of hookah system soon.

I think you should leave more in one area and spread out your catches more. And remember it isn't just you, other lobster men will becoming by the same areas and they need to do like wise.
@@SeaShift what reef though? I’m in Virginia but my best friend lives on the Inter coastal in Fort Lauderdale. Usually when I dive we find smaller lobsters on the reef probably because we are going to places commercial dive boats go to..

You can not go wrong in the Florida keys, they pretty much everywhere down there. Great place to start in my opinion

We honestly just drift the reef there is no one spot that we go to . We just hop in and drift!
