I'm thrilled! Great job. Very informative video and excellent editing. Special thanks for the detailed explanation of some points. Your video helped me solve my problems in ue5. Thanks!
Not the lighting, not editing, not sound design what impresses me. But camera and animation. This cinematography mix of "cartoon/ anime style" camera and animation - this is what makes the biggest impression. Dude, you are a GOAT
You build stamina and patience overtime, I was the same. Test your patience on some projects from time to time and you'll see you get better at it. Also keeping your phone time as minimal as you can helps a LOT to increase your attention span, being bored is actually a good thing.
@@HenriqueLoesch Yeah, instead of wasting time on my phone, I tend to watch random videos on my PC instead lol. But yeah, the idea remains the same. It's definitely something I need to work on more often and rework my workflow to avoid wasting time. This would make the process more enjoyable and help me on the long run.
@@Danger_N00dle hey if it helps I was able to do it, so can you. And man when you're finally able to endure being bored and enjoy doing nothing feels SO GOOD. It's not just for your work, it's good in general
As a Maya animator who is learning Unreal in order to do something very similar...this was SO FUN to watch. Thanks very much for taking the time to create such a detailed, entertaining and inspiring video. Well done!
he is not even definition of one man army if he didn't make the character model by himself did uv unwraped it or retopo i rigged it by himself he didn't make the textures by himself etc
Are you suggesting he is not capable of that? This guy clearly has the skills to do every step as a 3d generalist, just because he used a rigged character model to save time does not mean he cannot do everything by himself. One can just as well say that because he didn't create unreal engine he is not a one man army, because he didn't program the tool used to make the 3d content, don't be so negative, you're trying to drag other people down to your level and nobody needs that energy
@@Ablumz you and others with this exact same comment or your are definition of a one man army don't know what a true 3d artist is he is not even close to the definition so better be quiet talk back if he knows how to Sculpt,Model,UVUnwrapping,Retopoing,Rigging,TexturePainting,ETC... I really impressed by how this video gives realistic expectations for the time required to create something like this even when you have a good amount of experience doing it. Creating in 3D is fun, but is also a ton of work. Other videos give the impression that it's an incredibly easy process that anyone should be able to quickly knock out.
Man, your animation ended up being sooooo good. You’re really skilled, and I love how you gave out great advice throughout the video. I truly hope you continue to grow as a creator and get the attention you deserve.
Really amazing video. I've looked all over youtube for the process of exporting, importing and modifying animation to unreal engine for cinematics and noone ever speaks this slow or displays the step by step process. Thank you, please make more!
ALRIGHT GUYS, it took him around 3 months or so to finish this u get it? this entire process is time consuming as hell, but end results are always worth it.
It's worth mentioning the perspective flip at 12:10 (where black/red Genji is now suddenly kicking from the left, after previously attacking from the right) is like a cardinal sin among action sequences, animated or otherwise. It's important to maintain consistency with regards to the actors' space retention, aka who is who and who is where... especially in dynamic, fast & flashy sequences like this one. Even more so here since, in this case, both of your actors are palette swaps of the same model. It is obvious from the rest of the video that you understand the nuances of perspective so I was confused by that choice, but otherwise, this was phenomenal and I can't wait to see how you improve going forward!
That's one hell of a banger to start your youtube journey off on. And by that I mean both the original animation and this breakdown of it. Also nice to get some actual reference of time scales involved in the making of quality art like this, since those usually tend to be a bit of an obscure element of the final product, despite being important for anyone aspiring to pull of similar feats to be aware of. I really didn't expect for planning and previz to take up a combined, whole month here for example, so I now have at least a rough benchmark of project stamina to eventually work towards.
Thanks, I am getting into content creation and have been wanting to make animations and designs even if it's the basics or takes a while to learn so definitely looking forward to more Videos.
That came out amazing, I've just started my journey with 3D modeling and am currently learning Substance Painter so I have WAYS to go before this. But watching the workflow and seeing how amazing that end result was has me excited. Plus, it also puts more realistic expectations of how long it takes. So thank you very much, amazing work

Great content to show how important the workflow is. It may seem simple but planning and executing accordingly could be the hardest part of the project when you think all the elements such as materials, lights etc. Thanks a lot for invaluable tips!
Honestly brother the biggest thing a lot of people I think benefit greatly from is insight into animation. Because sure you can take animations pre-made on Mixamo and make alterations to them to get a somewhat desired effect. But until someone has a solid understanding of what makes things look real, it'll just look janky and awkward when you make slight alterations to achieve your objectives. Please keep coming back to animation from time to time. =)

Smells like d riding for a pin and clout
The fact that he spent 2 weeks only to get a 15 second video is why animators need to get paid more. This was increadable and deserves all the praise
Oh it was way more than just 2 weeks, he spent more than 10 weeks
I admire the patience you and other professional animators have.
