My mate, a lifelong supporter of Man U. With no match left went to the toilet. His wife shouted “they’ve scored”. He rushed back, watched the replays. Still busting he belts off to do his wee and his wife screams “they’ve scored again”. He missed both goals. I’m not sure he ever recovered.
This is a quality story! 🤣
❤❤
I missed a goal at Wembley once doing that 😂 I only went once though, it was Bristol City versus Walsall in the Johnstone Paint trophy, not quite the same occasion 😂 we did the double that year though. City won 2-0 in the end, I wasn’t bothered that I missed a goal because we beat Walsall 8-2 in the league the week before, I was sure we’d score a few more, didn’t though 😂nothing happened for the rest of the game!!
Feel sorry for your mate that’s almost just destiny 😂
My dad was still celebrating the first goal when the second one went in and also missed oles goal😂
❤
I turned 42 this year (2023) and I’m watching this again. I’m crying again. I’ve never experienced emotions like this from a football game!
I'm a year younger and have the exact same feelings. I couldn't go to the match as i had my GCSE's approaching and a module exam that week. Mum barred me from going. However, she is the reason i support United, so it was actually a wonderful moment to watch it with her.
I turn 42 on Tuesday. Red Devils for life!!
The Greatest Champion's League Final ever. I'm so privileged to have been there and to be a Manchester United supporter 👊
I love United!
2005 final CLEARRR
@@denissharf1715 No game won on penalties can count.
@@KryptonitetoallBS why tf not 3-0 at the 70th minute compared to 1-0 down at the 90th minute
@@denissharf1715 Penalties son.........Are you thick?.........Penalties..........🙈
I was recovering from a heart attack at the time and, whilst I wouldn't exactly say I nearly had another one, it is fair to say that my heart proved that it was OK that night. Still great and exciting to watch even now. Go United!!
all the best
glad you're okay. Probably not the best way to have recovered from it eh? Sir Alex Ferguson: "bloody football!". I'm sure yours was something along those lines ;)
We went straight to Girona Airport after the match along with thousands of others. The terminal wasn't big enough for everyone so we sat outside and on the floor in the terminal when we eventually got inside. A man had a heart attack right there on the floor and I always wonder if he made it or not. The fans who were with him assumed he'd already passed away when I asked if there was anything I could do. They said that at least he would have died after the best night of his life. 😢
United are such a dream team, the Fulham match, prime example, they got 2 goals in 47 seconds
@@KryptonitetoallBS Hi, I'm Lorenzo Pascali and I'm an independent podcaster, I'm making a project about this match and I'd like to ask you a few questions, can we talk in the way you prefer? Email, whats app etc. thank you very much
I was watching this with my dad. After 1:1 he jumped up but after 2:1 he, as a really modest person in real life, I've never seen him celebrating like that! Thank you, football, for a moments like this!!
😅
Same I was watching with my Daddy
Never ever forget this… thank you Clive Tyldesley for the vocal memories “Sheringham!!” “Name on the trophy” “and Solskjaer has won it”… “Champions of Europe, Champions of England, winners of the FA Cup, everything their hearts desired” ❤️
“Name on the trophy” wasn t for no reason. When United got the goal you just knew they would score another.
@@oscareriksen2240 And old Ron Atkinson sensed it too. "You know if they score here I think they'll go on and win it" with three minutes to go and still 1-0 down.
‘Can Manchester Utd score they……………. Always score’ lol
Never forget ole
Still gives me goose bumps this match
Two things I hope to never forget ... Watching my son being born .. watching UTD win this..... Both get me so emotional till this day and hopefully lots more.... Amazing
I just realised bro, two of the greatest teams at the time, versus eachother, with the best ref ever, Collina
With the greatest comeback of all time
And oliver kahn 1 of the best keeper of all time
@@AbdullahHashi-kw3qj And Schmeichel, one of THE best keepers of all time, also.
@@AbdullahHashi-kw3qj I can name better
As an Arsenal fan I hated every single second of this at the time but looking back, what a game and what a motivator Ferguson was.
Cant understand why ?
Hate? LOL. You should thx United for this moment. Without this, EPL will never be as big as today.
Weird comment

This and Liverpool's miracle in Istanbul are qithout a doubt two of the greatest moments in club football ever.
Beckham into Sherrigham and Solskjaer has won it - iconic gone down in the annals of football folklore
"It's come to Dwight Yorke, cleared. Giggs with the Shot....SHERRINGHAM!!!!"
"NAME ON THE TROPHY!"
"Beckham. Into Sherringham...AND SOLSJKÆR HAS WON IT!!!!"
"History is made. Manchester United are the champions of Europe again and nobody will ever win a European Cup Final more dramatically than this"
"Champions of Europe. Champions of England. Winners of the FA Cup. Everything their hearts desired"
"It's been a long goodbye for Peter Schmeichel, but those Giant hands that have done so much in Manchester United's cause in the last 8 years. Will now wrap themselves around the handles of giant trophy that says Manchester United are the Champions of Europe..AGAIN!"
Absolutely legendary commentary for the greatest UCL final ever!
Celtic fan here but watched this in a pub in South Africa while working there, Whole pub was rocking, What a night. Won't be another like it that's for sure!
The best night in sporting history. Thankyou guys🤝
A quarter of a century ago today and I still get goosebumps every time I see the goals.
No var no acting just raw football this was the real game which made me fall for it
As a Bayern fan since 1978 this somehow reminds me of 1987 and 2012, which was even harder to take. Bayern lost too many finals after taking the lead.
That semi final n 1991 was also incredible with Bayern losing in 92 minute by own goal
well bayern won the european cup 6 times
As a United fan I was extremely happy they won. As a football fan I felt sorry for Bayern.
United were missing Keane and Scholes in the midfield and they were two really key players. It was obvious Bayern played really well and controlled the midfield during virtually the whole of the game.
Had Bayern won I would have been disappointed but not resentful. Bayern played well and created chances for themselves. Their focus was 100% for the whole game.
Both team, from my recollection, played well, played hard but were not looking for cheap shots, time wasting or dirty play. Had Bayern won it would not have been 'unfair'. It would just have been the best team on the park on the night.
Those goals they conceded, they weren't stoppable really. They were two touch goals and came from perpetual pressure. A great team that played fair and well. Credit to them and their supporters.
The fates were not with them that night. I'm glad that was the case but they didn't lose the game: United won. There's a huge difference.
Kudos to Bayern.
At least they've redeemed it at 2019/20 UCL Final in Portugal.
What about Aston Villa in Rotterdam in 1982?
got goosebumps every time i watch this final ....
I watched this game.Since then I become Avid fan of Manchester United till now. This is the best season for Manchester United. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, EPL AND FA CUP WINNER AT THAT SEASON. WHAT A WONDERFUL GAME. I THOUGHT THEY WILL LOSE THAT GAME BUT WHEN I SAW SHERINGHAM AND OLE GUNNAR COMES IN I KNEW IT THAT THEY STILL HAVE CHANCE TO WIN..IT WAS 5 AM ALREADY.BECAUSE THE GAME WAS EXCITING I FINNISH IT TILL THE END. WHAT A GAME....
That’s awesome
Do you still keep the ticket match ?

Fantastic and dramatic final, Awesome Manchester United,on the Top of the World!!
MU fan has to come back to this clip to revisit the onlytime they were the greatest 😂😂
One of the greatest comeback in football...that was the best United Team 🙌
As a Man Utd fan for 50 years this was their greatest victory Marcus Dunne
You know, i think its been decades since i saw this...maybe even since '99 itself. I forgot that Uniteds goals both came in injury time. A game of seconds!
UNBELIEVABLE! Will never forget this night as a young kid and I’m a Tottenham fan 😂
Best final ever long live Man Utd
I can't forget this moment. Man United get treble winner. specially Champion league
What a fantastic player Ole was. Rapier like eye for goal-the baby-faced assassin!
I was still in high school that time. Match started 2 am. Me and my school friends planned to skip class the following morning. There were 7 of us, 6 were United fans and only 1 was Bayern fan. When the first goal happened we cheered but was still holding back a little because it was around 4 in the morning already and my friends parents sleep below us.
But when the second goal happened we screamed as loud as we could we probably wake up the whole neighborhood. My friends dad came upstairs to check things if everything is alright and ended up celebrating with the kids. It was unreal experience. I've watched many finals after that, UCL final, world cup final but nothing comes close to the feeling of this night
I guess we've both have same age, hahahah..
Time flies very fast, right ?
Auch nach all den Jahren noch immer wunderbar. Viele liebe Grüße nach Manchester. Auch heute sagen wir alle noch immer danke… 😀😀😀 Das war einfach wunderbar… 😀😀😀

@@andreasgrunwald4396 Das mag dich überraschen, aber nein, ich bin nicht....
As a Barcelona supporter, i was quite happy that Man United got to raise Champions league trophy at the Camp Nou instead of those Bavarians. Amazing match, Amazing comeback, one of few matches forever etched into my memory.
"And nobody will ever win a european cup final more dramatically than this" well, 2005 was quite dramatic too :)
Yeah but this to complete the treble. Doesn't compare.

Or '68!
1992
I still remember that time i was watching. Bayern Munich fans and benched players are ready to celebrate their winning game at 90 minutes. But it's miracle for United when they scoring last minute. ❤
I was 11 in 68 and what a night that was but this was the best ever. Remember saying to my son, ah well 2 trophy's ain't bad. Then it happened. The whole street was out celebrating. Luckily I had booked the following day off work. Was still drinking with others at 4am. The following day and night was spent again celebrating. They stopped counting at 1million people along the route and in the town centre for the teams return. Best ever for a red.
Watching this on the telly, ‘live’ we were never really worried; even though United were second best for virtually the whole game, short of Scholes and Keene and looking like they had never played together. The only thing that I really remember was my dad saying “Here we go!” When Ollie came on.
We were so used to winning lost causes back then. What a team!
i get goosebumps every time i watch this game and it brings back great feelings and memories, last night i watched 99 on prime and i was overcome with emotion on the last episode!! 32 years I've supported them, I love united!!!! I hope the next coming years we can shut up the naysayers. WE ARE THE GREATEST CLUB IN WORLD FOOTBALL
I remember my Arsenal mate sent me a message saying bad loss, I said you must have switch off before injury time lol😅
Best ucl match of all time
That game was so intense at the time, and when solskjaer scored that goal the feeling was incredible
OMG that was the GREATEST day of my life WHOOOOO
I had never really watched much football, having grown up in the United States in 1970s and 80s when hardly anyone here played it. But my father in law was a fan of the sport and I sat down with him the night of this game and watched the entire thing and it is still in my top 5 sports moments of all-time. I had never seen anything like it.
What a day thanks to saf best day as a utd fan.

My son was born that night and I'm a United supporter, my whole family are. Its a family joke that I've never forgiven him for being born that evening. Well, they all think I'm joking anyway!
I lost my voice that night. I screamed so hard 🤣
Wow! What an dedication you have as true Man United fans, my friend :)
@andiisunited What? What did you want me to do? Not all of us could afford to buy a ticket OR get one to go to the Nou Camp. But I was so ecstatic that I screamed my head off, watching it on t.v. that I lost my voice for a couple of days. Sarcastic dik.
Greatest comeback in a champions league final ever. Some people say the Liverpool one was better but they had 45mins to do it. United had a little more than 45 seconds. This was hands down better for me.
Great comeback but strange logic you have. If UTD were down a single goal after just 5 minutes then they had pretty much 90 minutes to make the comeback.
Liverpool were down 3 goals at half time...far better comeback but ofcourse UTD's was as dramatic as they left is so late.
@@lvlarcuk1 United's was far, far more dramatic. Bayern were 1-0 up in 90 minutes. They thought it was all over. That all changed in less than 2 minutes. Nothing that happened in Istanbul compares to that!! You only have to look at the reactions of the Bayern players compared to the Milan players to see which had more theatre 👍
@@lvlarcuk1 My logic is correct. 2 goals in extra time is far better than 3 in 45 mins. You must be a Liverpool fan or a United hater

Love the symbolism of this match.
The last major football game of the millennium , a game borne from war ,and it just had to be an English side v a German side ,with the English a patched up band of misfits from around the globe ,and the German side a near ,well German side ,battering the English endlessly ,only for the English to storm to victory at the end.
