It’s a strange thing, meeting the son of an icon, but it’s not a rarity in L.A. because the town’s littered with them. Dhani Harrison however, is a prolific musician in his own right. He’s somewhat of an enigma, no doubt a result of growing up in the spotlight and being constantly peppered with requests, most concerning his perpetually famous father. Our interest in Dhani came as a result of his chance friendship with our lovely guest editor. The longtime pals like to spend their time together charging crystals, night swimming, drinking organic beer brewed by monks, playing music, and exploring the existential. When it came to the subject of features for Steph’s mag, Dhani was an obvious inclusion. We pulled up to his “studio” in Santa Monica expecting it to be small and dark and wondering if there was going to be ample light to shoot photos. We opened the door to a full-blown office building with three separate offices two recording studios, a communal area with generous cubicle space, and more trinkets than you could thrust a Grammy at. Among his many musical ventures, Dhani also runs Hot Records (Henley on Thames-Dhani’s birthplace), and Dark Horse Records, a label that his dad founded. The Santa Monica office serves as the universal HQ.

Every man wants to follow in his Dads footsteps; even more so when you love music. Dhani is a fine artist.
At some angles, for a moment...I can see his dad and my emotions swing from happiness to sadness. Thank you, George, wherever you are.

What a joy to get a glimpse into Dhani's work place. Nice to know that there are recording studios and both HOT & Dark Horse Records is there.
Fantastic little view inside Dhani's world. There's so much that seems to be going on. He has a busy life. I really appreciate the beautiful high class work that he has done for his father. Every new or re-release is very special and thoughtfully put together with love. I'm pretty excited to here Dhani's new album. I would bet tons that it's a wonderful timeless album.

@@philroberts7238 I’m not “wrong” I just hear things differently to you 😉. I am English, with an Irish father, English mother and living in Australia so accents get muddled.
I'm British. His accent to us is very American. There's a touch of Engleesh. Listen in Britain we have loads of regional accents. There's no such thing as an English accent. His dad George's accent was Liverpudlian with a touch of Mancunian. He sounds posh American to us & nothing like his dad.
My kind of musician; soulful and real. I would like to visit and play a few notes with Dhani and I'm close by in San Diego!

Very cool. Who's the Blonde (nice stuff on the ukelele she did). She looks like she might be related to Robert Plant. I love his cosmopolitan accent, at first it sounded Australian (I'm Aussie), then I heard all these other influences in it. Just thinking of Julian, Zak & Jason, Heather, etc, was Patti unable to have children? (Love her autobiography "Wonderful Tonight".)

One cannot quit wondering about the extra attention Harrison Jr. is getting in accordance with his actual artistic specific gravity contribution. At the end of the day - do we really need to know anything about the Skateboard collection of a rich boy who was lucky enough to inherit the wealth of one of the most iconic guitar geniuses, but not lucky enough to inherit half the talent and virtuous? I wonder.
