The toxic rain kills bonedogs. The death fog hurts anything organic. Cooking adds muscle tone to shecks and humans that rank it. The sun beams are a old weapon catlon used to kill people en mass and the one that's still going was used to destroy the control center and marked the end of his empire. The sniper zone near the Ashlands are managed by skeletons that worked for catlon. There's still thousands of little tidbits of tips and lore nuggets to go over. Hivers can eat limbs and teeth for nutrition. There's flying robots all over kenchi where robots are common. There's a planet in orbit you can see at night that is hinted as to where the humans came from. I can't recommend enough the mod that makes the giant robot arms move enough. Really makes that region between rebirth and Mongrel creepy. There's also the massive ships that are broken in the water around the coasts and the lagoon. This game needs a book written about it. Has all of the great bases that battle tech and warhammer have. This is the biggest example of a diamond in the rough iv ever had the joy to learn about. Then there's the crab bandits and the failed UC towns near where the robot spider factory is. God I love kenchi
I just gotta say. The world and depth to the world that Chris Hunt made is incredible. It has nuisances and complexity yet leaves enough of a “sandbox” feel in the overall lore to build your own world if you wanted. Nothing is set in stone lorewise so you can customize the experience to your liking.
@@wiwysova you go around and there are rumours, ambiguities and environmental storytelling clues all over the place. The lore is a very unique mix of things, the moon of Kenshi itself is beautiful, there are layers to the lore and characters, the atmosphere is great. I've interacted with many settings and books, from mythology and literature classics to pulp, I think Kenshi indeed has depth. It's really cool.
I was inspired to play Kenshi after watching General Sam and about 100 hours in, I've just about gotten the hold of getting my character to survive more than 30 IRL minutes.
Should look into some of the lore. Like how one of the giant robots stopped a nuke from going off in Okrans run I believe. His body is still there. Overlooking the green valley as his systems shut down from body blocking the explosion.
Yeah, Stobe. Croc showed him in the video when talking about the behemoths thought I believe he sacrificed himself either in Stobe's Garden or in Stobe's Gamble and then dragged himself to the Garden before succumbing to his wounds
Corrections, clarifications or adding stuff to the facts. 22 - It's Skinners Roam not Skimmers Roam hah. 55 - Although they have a healrate of 2 (Or 3 for the subraces like Soldierbot, Screamer, PK etc...) this does not mean that they heal twice as fast as a Greenlander with a healrate of 1. Healrate is basically percent of max hp healed over an amount of time. For instance if you zoom in and look down (So no lag) over 22 minutes game time a Greenlander will heal 1 stun (Blunt) damage. Assuming the Skeleton has no wear damage (Max hp reduced) they will heal 4 stun damage in that amount of time as they have 200 health. Or if the skeleton is Agnu (Soldierbot) 6 health. 59 - I think it's a bit of a Futurama reference. (Headcannon) 61 - The King in the raid is a severely nerfed version of King. His age is between 0.9 to 1.0 in the raid. 64 - Honestly the talking part could actually be seen as a weakness. It would allow you to see them from further away and to know when to hide :) (Opinion) 66 - Fun tip you can carry a limb in your inventory to drop if attacked by Bonedogs. The group will usually run after their buddy who grabbed it provided you aren't attacking them and you'll be ignored. 68 - Just to add Leviathans have the same damage formula as many animals in the game however they have their own custom stat preset which includes 75 Martial Arts. Most other animals have their 10% of their combat stats assigned to Martial Arts... As all animals damage scales based off Martial Arts and Dexterity this makes them incredibly dangerous. Unless I am forgetting a weapon... Their large size prevents most attack animations from being used so you only can use heavy downcut v2 (Overhead swing) which leaves you more open in my experience. 70 - Unwanted zone as well! 80 - Ehh Tinfist is the most dangerous bounty honestly. 93 - I lost that speedrun :( I had a run that was on track to take #4 on the final leaderboards but the bridge did not work on my way out so my character started to swim and killed the run... I am still sad about that. Loved this video. Definitely got a like from me! I learned a lot of Kenshi 2 stuff so thanks for that!

A little addendum to #30: It is implied that the cannibals weren't originally from this continent, but came from a different continent up north. The original human inhabitants of the North-West were instead almost killed off by the cannibal invaders after the collapse of the Second Empire. Another possibility is that they degenerated through exposure to dangerous chemicals and turned into the cannibals. Also, I don't think the Hivers came around after Cat-Lon's Second Empire. I'm pretty sure they were bioengineered BY the Second Empire to act as cheap labour.

The game being made and funded mostly by one dude makes me respect it just that much more. Also, Kenshi 2 on a newer, better engine and with modern optimization will be awesome. I totally get why it does the loading pauses and stutters like it does, OGRE is an absolutely ancient engine (it's from around 2005) and 870 km² is absolutely nuts for a map size, especially for a static hand-made map, but while even high end PCs from 2005-2013 would likely struggle severely with Kenshi, most medium-end to high-end modern PCs should be able to run the game far better than they can. Still, mad respect to Chris for taking on a project this ridiculous by himself.

About fact 22, there's not skimmers because it isn't skimmers roam, the name is SKINNERS roam, it's controlled by the holy nation, just a mistake you made.
Im actually surprised that neither Berserk nor Star Wars were ever mentioned by Chris as inspirations for Kenshi considering how inspired Kenshi looks in its atmosphere, gritty nature and etc. I could notice that Kenshi's brutal nature, gritty and depressing atmosphere and focus on sword combat is really reminiscent of Berserk, while the setting itself could be compared to the planet Tatooine from Star Wars.
I can see the Berserk similarities, sure, but Star Wars? Not everything that includes a desert is based off goddamn Star Wars, and only the north-east part of Kenshi features a sandy desert in the first place.
@@SirZipper So you're saying *anything* that includes robots or "aliens" (despite the fact that no "known" aliens remain in Kenshi because all of them either left or have been here long enough not to be real aliens anymore, as far as we are told) is based on Star Wars? Is Fallout actually a Star Wars game? Is NieR: Automata actually a Star Wars game? Is literally any goddamn sci-fi story, such as The Foundation, which came out decades before Star Wars, now a Star Wars expanded universe story? What is your point?
@@beetheimmortal Why are you so butthurt on the topic? Maybe your knowledge of the sci-fi genre has more depth than other people, but individuals are only going to use comparisons which they are familiar with. Not really a fact. more so a theory/observation. The war in Bast is fueling the Cannibal threat. The cannibal population is massive, more than their territory can support. Add in the Cannibal Capital, which was likely so isolated or recently captured that your characters initially believe it is still the city of Deadcat, and the fairly recent formation of the Cannibal Hunters. This seems to suggest that the cannibals had a massive population surge in recent decades which largely wiped out Deadcat as an organized faction. The question is, how. The Cannibals would have required an abundance of easily accessible food to sustain such growth; but the large number of scrawny cannibals suggest that this easy source is drying up. Right next to Cannibal territory you have the region of Bast, where armies constantly engage each other in battle and refugees/slaves/rebels are found in large numbers. An easy meal for the cannibals, especially in the early days as both sides suffered massive losses and most of the region's population were either killed, enslaved, or fled into the countryside to avoid the fighting. But now that the war is dying down, or at least not as intense as it was before, the Cannibals are having trouble sustaining their population. If the war ended, the cannibal population would diminish greatly, but neither side will agree to a truce. The player can end the war by destroying one of or both of the nation's fighting there, but that won't solve the problem as the Cannibals would use the resulting power vacuum to spread further.
Chris really succeeded in capturing my fascination with Kenshi lore the same way Dark Souls did. Most recently I’ve become fascinated with the mystery of Stobe. Built an outpost near their corpse in my current game. I wonder if we’ll get more Stobe lore in Kenshi 2.
@@CoolKidCroc It's the second in the series. Played the 2nd for for over 50 hrs. Would love to see A Multiplayer video. The first one is more story oriented though if you want inspiration for the second and possible content.

This _"War of the Behemoths."_ No one seems to know what these giant skeletons were made to fight. Those pages in history are a blank. Or have been removed so know one can find the truth as to what actually happened. But something catastrophic did happen for these behemoth skeletons to be made to fight. _So it remains a complete mystery..._ *_Or does it?_* As I've been back in Kenshi, after a 4 year hiatus, and have been wandering around the map, I've started to become very curious as to why there are so many _HUGE_ skeletal remains of what used to be, very large megafauna. Of which nothing of these beasts has previously been mentioned by anyone. They were beasts so large, that they would put to shame the largest animal, as far as we know, that has ever lived on Earth. *The Blue Whale.* Maybe, just maybe, these giant man made behemoth Skeletons were made to subdue the sudden appearance of all the megafauna that were wreaking havoc on the population? Be they either carnivorous megafauna eating people and everything not fast enough. Or herbivorous megafauna that were eating all the human crops and thus, making the humans starve. But then it begs further questions. If the behemoth skeletons were made to fight this megafauna invasion, then where did this megafauna come from? But if the behemoths were not built to fight the megafauna, then why did all these megafauna just die? And if the behemoths were not fighting this megafauna but fighting something else, then what were they built to fight? *_Kenshi's starting to annoy me now. The more I learn about it, the more I want to know about it. And the learn I learn about it, the more unanswered questions I have about it._*
Kenshi has no loading screens* but you should always manually pause when the game is loading chunks. Because Chris made the mistake of not having the game autopause while loading, and thats why game saves often break and need importing. So, technically, it does have loading screens. Just self imposed ones.
How do you record clean footage without the ui in the way on kenshi ?? Great videos !! I’m just getting started on learning how to make footage like this and I thought kenshi would be the best game to play around with and learn from . Any advice would be Huge ! Also I’m clicking that subscribe button now
Now, I Haven’t seen the whole video yet, but I feel like this video turned into a lore video suddenly, even if I appreciate the lore (which I do),I still do feel like the video’s topic changed during the video.
In addition to that, the Kenshi 2 ”facts” weren’t really *Kenshi* facts, though one could debate on the language and it’s definitions, It is still misleading
My first small mod adds a few recipes. among them are People pies. and yes, those are Exactly what you think they are, and yes they are being bought by other people in town 😂😂😂 Kenshi is absolutely fantastic.
The problem with Kenshi is that there is just not much going on. The world is amazing and the atmosphere is great but once you visit all the places, figure out how to level your stats and where the best loot is, the game is pretty much over. This is an RPG and RPGs rely on exploration. I remember building a really large and cool base only to to feel despair once I finished because the game was already over and building that base was a completly pointless.
Well, these are certainly facts about the game... Facts you could read right off the wikipedia article. Probably presented in the order one might read them off the wikipedia article. Maybe that changes after the five minute mark, but I'm not sticking around to find out whether or not I'm wasting my time here.

Not many games like Kenshi. It does remind me of The Guild tho.

Is that the GTA SanAndreas opening song?

Cant believe its 10 years old.
NEW UPLOADDDD
This _"War of the Behemoths."_
No one seems to know what these giant skeletons were made to fight. Those pages in history are a blank. Or have been removed so know one can find the truth as to what actually happened. But something catastrophic did happen for these behemoth skeletons to be made to fight.
_So it remains a complete mystery..._ *_Or does it?_*
As I've been back in Kenshi, after a 4 year hiatus, and have been wandering around the map, I've started to become very curious as to why there are so many _HUGE_ skeletal remains of what used to be, very large megafauna. Of which nothing of these beasts has previously been mentioned by anyone.
They were beasts so large, that they would put to shame the largest animal, as far as we know, that has ever lived on Earth. *The Blue Whale.*
Maybe, just maybe, these giant man made behemoth Skeletons were made to subdue the sudden appearance of all the megafauna that were wreaking havoc on the population?
And the learn I learn about it, the more unanswered questions I have about it._*
cant wait to visit cloud district in Kenshi 2
33:09 or "you're back already?!"
Isn´t it Skinners Roam, not Skimmers?
this must have taken a lot of time, thanks
Kenshi has no loading screens* but you should always manually pause when the game is loading chunks. Because Chris made the mistake of not having the game autopause while loading, and thats why game saves often break and need importing. So, technically, it does have loading screens. Just self imposed ones.
I think the Okranites probably hunted them out of skimmers roam but the Names stuck.
How do you record clean footage without the ui in the way on kenshi ??
Great videos !! I’m just getting started on learning how to make footage like this and I thought kenshi would be the best game to play around with and learn from . Any advice would be Huge ! Also I’m clicking that subscribe button now
F7 I believe hides the hud, thank you my bro I try my best!
you did not just call a cello a sello
nice!!
Ilove kenshi you love kenshi
Over a decade in development and the skeleton beds in World's End still don't work
I mean this in the best possible way but you have a burger king foot lettus vibe with your count down. :)
All hail Beep! !
Messiah of the desperate!
King of kings!
Destroyer of worlds!
All hail Beep! !
Holy fuck. El Juja was mentioned in the video haha
Just fyi Kenshi recently hit over 2million sold
So basicaly, you're telling me, that Beep is technicaly the father of all sentient beings in Kenshi?
Awesome video, you pronounced sentient wrong tho baby but it's okay
My first small mod adds a few recipes. among them are People pies. and yes, those are Exactly what you think they are, and yes they are being bought by other people in town 😂😂😂
Kenshi is absolutely fantastic.
Sobek approves
Bro this video might as well be renamed to "the lore of Kenshi" because most of these facts are just game lore.
we need the 202
Is The Music RUclips safe (COPYRIGHT)
how to know if youtuber is american.
hint: gun mod in a sword fighting game 🤣
Well, these are certainly facts about the game... Facts you could read right off the wikipedia article. Probably presented in the order one might read them off the wikipedia article.
Maybe that changes after the five minute mark, but I'm not sticking around to find out whether or not I'm wasting my time here.
Except the game pauses and just says it's loading above the character lol
Did you really just call a cello a sello? XD
The game itself is one big loading screen
Lol, it's not "skimmer's roam", it's SKINNER's roam 😅
31:33 el JUJA SABEEEEE
He must have made a killing. Selling millions of copies with almost no employees outside of a few people helping him here and their.
