Their peak/best album must be "Annihilation of the wicked" from 2005. They also had a had a long song title on that album called " Chapter of Obeisance Before Giving Breath to the Inert One in the Presence of the Crescent Shaped Horns" 😆 But absolutely my favorite album of theirs.

"Those Whom the Gods Detest" is my favorite Nile album. But as another commenter has said, "Black Seeds of Vengeance" is definitely another one to check out.

Unas Slayer of the Gods is my favourite song by them. I'm not a huge fan of the shred and solo every song but some of their songs are just amazing

I've been listening to Nile (blew my mind) since I was 21. 20 years of epic music by them (and the lizard sideprojects too)! 🤘🖤GREAT review as always brothers!!

I really liked their albums "black seeds of vengeance" and "those whom the gods detest". They used to have amazing atmospheric and more groove-focused sections between the fast chaotic sections, but I guess in the last few albums they kinda lost that type of sound

My favorite album from Nile is "In Their Darkened Shrines" but if I wanted to sell a Nile album to someone I'd go with Annihilation of the Wicked as I think it's their most accessible. Both albums floored me the first time I heard them.

Nile is the perfect band for when you just need to listen to something but not really engage with it, like you just doing some chores or training or reading. Nile has some banger albums , though when I isten to them I just put on a single or two cause they can be a bit much for me, the wall of sounds are consistent with them. Two songs from them that is just peak Nile for me is: "Permitting the noble dead to descend to the underworld" and "Sacrifice unto Sebek". I think you would find those songs to be very good, they are truly excellent songs, presentation wise too.

my comment is more towards vile, i get your point that you need variation and changes in a song or an album, i like it too, but there are bands that we don't need those changes i think, like nile or slayer or maiden. when i listen to nile, i want that specific sound, nothing else, it serves a precise purpose for me, if they change their sound, it won't serve that purpose anymore, hard to explain.

The only album I've only really been able to get into by them is Those Whom The Gods Detest. Imo, that album is still fast but has a lot of moments that stick out and songs that are really memorable. If you haven't checked that album out yet, I recommend it. It's a lot more digestible
