They went to school instead of goofing off...
If we had pulled this off in the 80's, everyone would have had a good laugh & we would have gotten a week of after-school detention, & our pix in the yearbook, along w/ the kids we'd switched with, all grinning like fools.
But they are treating these kids like they all ganged up & attacked some poor kid in a locker room.
Talk about having messed up priorities. They're kids, not domestic terrorists.

So they are being punished for showing a flaw in the school's security and that anyone can still walk into a school without being questioned or stopped. At least they are being prepared for the adult world where whistle-blowers go missing and you get punished even for doing the right thing. If you embarrass someone in a higher position then you will be criminally punished these days

People were probably thinking they could have been kidnapped, hurt, runaways, killed, human trafficking victims. This was meant to be a funny harmless prank but this is also dangerous because there are a lot of messed up people in the world within the last 20-30 years. They could have seriously been in danger and their friends and classmates who might’ve known about the prank would have written it off thinking things are fine until there’s missing persons reports or worse. I agree they should be punished by taking away phones, grounded at home, possibly serve detention at school or a couple weeks of summer school and then be allowed to graduate but I don’t agree on the suspensions, fines, loss of scholarships or jail time. We’ve all done something stupid or reckless in our youth so they shouldn’t be punished so severely.
This should also be a heads up to tighten security and make sure teachers recognize their students so this doesn’t happen again. I mean there should be a class roster with pictures of the students so they know and memorize their students faces. The adults are just as much at fault because they should know and recognize their students.
