P0078 low fuel pressure 2017 Ram 3500 6.7 Cummins

I had my truck throw a low fuel rail pressure code while towing my trailer. I tried replacing my fuel filters but I was getting no fuel to the front fuel filter. I ended up doing a quick and dirty fix to get the fuel to the front filter by removing a built in check valve that my fuel pump was not capable of providing enough pressure to overcome the spring pressure of the check valve. The truck was able to tow my 17000 Lb trailer home with no issue or lack of power. I will be replacing my in tank fuel pump as soon as my tank is out of diesel.
