This is perfect for a 'The Terminator RPG' campaign I'm working on for later this year, set in a ravaged New York in 2027. It's called 'So Good They Nuked It Twice' and it's about a team going into the ruins of New York looking for an unexploded nuclear missile, and having to deal with different T-models and desperate survivors. I looked up Terminator ambience music and this was the first I listened to. This is amazing and it sticks well with the first Terminator movie. I would love to hear something from Blade Runner if you've done that yet.
Gotta wonder how that would work. Isn't the entire objective of the machines to *terminate* (heh) humanity? The Matrix robots only wanted to completely control the humans, not kill them. Sure, they found humanity disgusting, but they gave them (mostly) normal lives in the end. In Terminator, humans were rounded up, enslaved, had genetic material taken for growing more skin on T-800 models, and were then killed. But I do like the idea, nonetheless!

Really wish Cameron would have directed a third. Would have been a masterpiece just like the previous two and could have been the greatest trilogy of all time. He was a call in producer on Dark Fate. The entire time dark fate was being filmed he was working on avatar 2. And Tim Miller was a horrible choice to direct. Denis Villeneuve would have been an incredible director/producer on a terminator or a Batman film.
The third one was supposed to show us the future war ending with the time machine scene, just like Terminator Resistance did. I still hope Cameron will make it happen someday.

Machines have taken over the world and humanity is, in some cases, fighting back, and in other cases, surviving. 32:30
Two things: 1: There is plenty of time between the detection of a nuclear launch and the actual detonations to take measures to limit casualties. Especially when your country is the one that fires first. You would have public emergency announcements interrupting your TV show and depending on where you live exactly, you may even see the missiles going up into the sky. Many people would've realized a nuclear war was happening, they just wouldnt understand why. 2: In the event of a nuclear war, military installations are supposed to be the targets of the first wave of missiles, which buys the government time to stop the war, before bombers, submarine launched missiles and surviving land based missiles start hitting civilian targets. Skynet fires the US nuclear arsenal at Russia, which would have responded as though it was the predicted and planned for war scenario. This means people living in cities away from military bases would've had a bit more time to react before the second wave hit.
