WHICH SERIES SHOULD WE WATCH AFTER DEATH NOTE! Comment below!
Did you guys watch demon Slayer?
Demon slayer pls it's also getting A new season and moreover it's probably the second most popular anime atm so you will get a lot of viewership on your channel! It can be a game changer for you guys Love ya♥️😁
BERSERK 1997
Death Parade
Vinland saga will be the best to introduce you guys to the historical fiction genre of anime and it's absolutely phenomenal and I can't praise it enough
The most hilarious part of this entire episode is Light reading a magazine with half naked women with a completely straight face, flipping through it like he's reading a textbook.
He's a chad after all
People often find the potato chip to be the funniest part of this episode but to me it was also light studying a swimsuit magazine
He is the Goat he doesn't care about anyone afterall he is the God of the new world
"Hmm. Yes. Boobies. Indeed."
He can think ten steps ahead but can’t even bother to pretend to be horny
"And I'll take a potato chip, and EAT IT!!" - Light Yagami
*DRAMATIC CHOMP !!!*
It's such a meme out of context but it's really epic
🗿 Profound genius
What is the best part of death note? The main character eats potato chips.
One of the most iconic scenes ever lol
I love that Light is such a narcissist psychopath. He can't help showing off. He has to.
Not that L is much different , they both enjoy this just use different justifications
I love how Chief Yagami agrees to put surveillance in his own home despite obviously not wanting to. He detests the idea of Kira being his family member and doesn't want to believe it, but he's still willing to investigate so that there is no doubt about it.
Just a Random Question
From which Country You are From
@@otaku_5627Kira i found you, you are trying to narrow down l's identity it's not gonna work
I just read chief as chef 😂
I think he also fully believes in his family's innocence. And just want to prove it to L.
That's why he pushed for them to fully set up the entire house. So there wouldn't be any room for doubt
This episode and THAT chip moment are simply ICONIC
Guys, lots of love from india..please will you react to some indian movies like 3 idiots,my name is khan, bahubali etc...
Indian videos generate alot of views...channels like our stupid reactions and jaby koay are famous examples...Its a humble advice you both are very honest reactors..I wish you all the very best...
@@govindchandak8016 same request..
They are excellent, but the scene also highlights how L is much smarter than Light thinks he is.
Light waited a week after finding out Penber's name to kill the FBI, hoping to draw attention away for him. But because he didn't wait between finding out about Penber tailing him, and his experiments. He ended up narrowing the scope of investigation onto him.
And now, by both being cocky and tiping his hand with his snide comments to L, and by having Kira act out of character by killing those 2 minor criminals, he has narrowed the focus to him eve more.
Can't wait for ep 9 and 27
rumor has it the whole 40 million dollar budget went into this scene. money well spent, imo
Whenever I watch this episode I can only think about how much MORE suspicious it is for a 17 year old to pull out some dirty magazines, do nothing more than just look at them for a little bit, then put them back
He has to hide his asexual/gayness somehow 😅
So u wanna tell me that they have to add in official tv show how he jack off??? u have to admit why almost no one anime cannot do it cuz some companies just dont buy with 18+ content.
and what would u think if ur kids watching this show? how someone jacking off in some show
@@roll4227 I didn’t say they should’ve gone that route in the show lol, just that Lights plan still makes him look suspicious
I mean reading ecchi manga is a thing, this ain't much different
Light reads porn magazines like you read an ikea manual lmao
How did you know I'm turned on by a #7 hex screwdriver?
22:56 I was lucky enough to watch Death Note when it first aired, and I laughed hysterically for a couple of minutes after that scene. The potato chip line is wonderful on its own, but what makes it truly amazing is the surge of dramatic music and inexplicable heavy breathing. They add so much energy and urgency, it becomes unintentionally hilarious. Brad Swaile's performance as Light is just *_chef's kiss._*
I love how L isn't ignoring Naomi's case, he knew her so he knows that she might be into something but got caught, he will remember her for sure, her sacrifice couldn't be in vaine.
Yes when he was told about Naomi, it clicked this is a hint, because how cleaver she is, and her discovery, became L discovery too.
It wasnt on vain. It actually led L into the conclusion that they should narrow down the investigation to those people being tailed by Rey Pember. It confirms that who ever Rey is following has the chance to be Kira
Something to keep in mind is that Light wants to be a suspect in this case. He wants L to suspect him, but not be able to prove anything, Because he wants to get in contact with L to identify him and kill him. Also, he's got a huge out of control ego. While he's made missteps in this cat and mouse game, he's trying to control it. Besides, if he did nothing he'd likely still be a suspect before too long. Playing defense won't win this "game".
"It is better to be impetuous than cautious, for fortune is a woman, and it is necessary, if you wish to keep her down, to beat her and knock her about. And one sees that she lets herself be conquered by men of this sort more than by those who proceed coldly. And therefore, like a woman, she is always the friend of the young, because they are less cautious, fiercer, and command her with more audacity." - Niccolo Machiavelli
You're the only smart person in this comment section bruh👑
People with shallow understanding of the show keep missing this one point and start accusing light of making obvious mistakes, like it doesn't take a genius to realize that the only way for light to get rid of L is to get close to him
While you do have a point in that it ends up serving his goals, I think calling them mistakes is still valid because they aren't INTENTIONAL on Light's part- gloating and taunting L like he did in this episode may have helped his endgoal by drawing L in, but he wasn't doing it for that purpose, he was doing it because his ego and god complex wouldn't allow him to NOT gloat and posture.
@@cheesypower3282 I don't disagree. There are certainly unforced errors, like killing Lind L Taylor. But plenty of his "errors" are intentional. Like changing the timing of killing criminals after the police start to suspect a student. That may seem like a mistake, but it is intentional. And Light's ego and need to rub it in a person's face when he kills them is something I won't go into at this time. I'm sure you can understand why.
This is a big development in the series, L is aware of Light now- the plot, as they say, *thickens*. When i first watched this I never realized how this is lowkey and enormous step ahead, this set up the rest of the series and more of the cat and cat mouse and mouse game.
thickens, starchy.....like a potato.....chip
@@pisy183 of course you can find a potato chip reference in that lmao
@@pisy183 😂😂
a funny thing i noticed; Watari gives everyone 2 scoops of ice cream, probably because L probably likes 2 scoops so everyone should also get 2 scoops. except for Chief Yagami, he gives him an extra scoop
Bruh I love how disappointed Lights father is at him having those magazines that aren’t even actual porn mags. If THAT is the worst thing Light ever did, then Superintendent Yagami can die happy lmao
Light should meet Sasha from Attack on Titan. The ultimate potato couple
But he's too sinister for her.😭😭
Yeah, Light actively fighting L only keeps suspicion on him. Ignoring L would be his best defense as the Death Note is basically impossible to investigate. But his ego can’t take it, so he has to confront L’s provocations. It wouldn’t be interesting if Light made perfect decisions though and L couldn’t investigate him.
All potato jokes aside lmao, L's plans are often over the top. Over 60 something sound and video traps, like, jesus dude, chill out haha. But L's plans, no matter how insane sounding- like broadcasting to Kanto saying it is the world and having a criminal die on television, to planting more monitors in Light's room than I have braincells, they always have a base in reality, L is smart, he knows Naomi wouldn't just kill herself, witch leads him to a very logical conclusion that Kira killed her. Simple logic that once you hear about it you think, 'why didn't I think that??'.
I don't believe Naomi is ever mentioned again because her body was never found and L never learned she even tried to speak with him.
L being smart is same as leaping of logic, most of his deduction skills are not convincing, whereas Light is a well written character, his deduction skills are all reasonable, makes sense,
@beaststealth8257 finally someone says it. Light>>>
Light’s mistake was to kill the FBI agents. Since Ray Pamber died, Naomi figured out Kira could kill with means other than heart attacks, so Light could not let her tell L about it. If he had kept low profile, just doing the usual until the FBI stopped investigating him, he would’ve gotten away with it. But Light Yagami and low profile rarely are in the same phrase.
This is the third time Light's rash actions has allowed L to narrow in on him.
Fourth if not more. First Lind L Taylor, narrows it down to Kanto. Second contradicts the student hypothesis, giving L the idea that Kira has police info, and causes the FBI to investigate him directly. Third, killing Penbur and the agents, further narrowing the list of suspects down to two families.
Honorary mention to the tests with prisoners. He's giving the results of tests to L as well who now knows kira can affect their behaviour before death, and also serves to confirm that hes leeching on police info, as it would be pointless to test them if he didnt. He'd just not learn the results.
really shows how light only manages to bumble through without being caught due to luck
Yeah and he managed to kill L with this "rash" action
Take the LLLLLLL
@@Skadi.- he didn't kill L, Rem did. Which followed a loooooot of conveniences to bring Rem to the point where she was forced to do Light a favor at the cost of her life
@@Skadi.- Light didn't even manage to get Ls real name from Misa who had the eyes. He still didn't know right before he died so the story took a big L imo
he underestimated the importance of her personal connection with L. He would Know her. and thus be likely to question any quick demise.
I'll take a Potato Chip....and EAT IT!!!!
If I hadn't watched the Death Note dub myself and just randomly came across a clip of that potato chip scene, I would bet my entire life savings that it was a fan made parody.
Him being ambidextrous is impressive.. But he isn't the first person to do that
but there is something EVEN MORE impressive he does here.. something such a RARE amount of people can do
He not only did write with his two hands at the same time..his brain was able to think about two different things and do both tasks...like solving equation(which would take a normal person's whole brain) and writing down the names as he searches for the names.
You guys would love an anime “ Monster” exactly montana’s type
yeah that wil be a great reaction!!
Masterpiece of an anime. It's really slow at parts, but the payoff is completely worth it
In this case, it does make sense for Light to say what he says. He is super smart, and he knows that L knows he's super smart. He also knows how to think like a detective, and he probably knows that L knows that too xD.
Light pretending to believe the ICPO statement would be even more suspicious imo.
His main mess up was stating he wouldn't be surprised if kira sees right through it. He would be better saying this is nothing more than interpol playing the pr game to reassure people.
@@TheGrandJeef I don't think that's a mess up on his part because L's suspicion of him doesn't increase based on what he said. At least it doesn't SEEM to increase, but idk maybe it does xD
@@TheGrandJeefIt was no mistake, Light knew exactly what he was doing. He can’t help but show off, even if it makes him more suspicious, he doesnt care. It’ll just make things more interesting
The most epic way to eat a chip i have ever seen
oh, and btw, L's apparent bloodline (according to wikipedia) is as follows: 1/2 french, and 1/4 each: italian, Russian, english, japanese. What a fun genetic puzzle.
One thing that I've found weird is that on 24:03 that bag of chips didn't made a hard sound considering there's a frickin mini tv inside of it. Wiretaps should've picked that sound up I guess.
FYI; in the manga it was established light put the Mini TV in the bag of a flavor only he eats
The potato chip scene is so iconic in anime culture.
If you, Montana, ever do write an essay comparing Light and Walter White, please post it somewhere, where it can be read. It would be amazing to read it
if we are talking about their philosophy, then no, they are not similar, I will even say that they are complete opposites. Maybe yagami and could have been like Walter if not for his upbringing, but this did not happen so light is a complete opposite in the views of Walter White
"Write My Name" would be a pretty good title for that essay
So many iconic moments in this episode alone.
Always fun to see folks' first viewing of it.
Never before, nor ever again will eating a Potato Chip be so epic.
I feel like Ryuk going through withdrawals watching this series. Just twitching and wanting to do hand stands thinking about how there is SO MUCH coming. How tame these early episodes seem compared to the rest.
Some interesting notes about the whole potato chips scene is that there’s a surprising amount of detail to the bag of chips which contains the portable tv. As seen in the scene where he grabs the chips out the cupboard note how the bag he grabs is a different colour from the other indicating that it’s likely a different flavour of crisps and also that it is the bag at back the of the cupboard meaning that light both probably picked a flavour that his other family members did not like and placed his bag further back to reduce the likelihood of someone accidentally coming across the bag containing the tv by coincidence.
I'll be waiting for Light Yagami Vs Walter White essay 😂
L holds phones the way he does, not out of comfort or habit like with his foot scratching or even his sitting, but to form good habits as to not accidentally compromise evidence as he does his job. It’s a discipline.
Seems more like a sensory thing to me but ig that makes some amount of sense as well
mothers basement has a great video about the potato chip scene
This show is the best psychological headfuck in anime history 😂📸
I'm so glad yall made the Breaking Bad comparison, I always recommend this to friends that love Breaking Bad
Thing about L is, he's kind of led around by the nose, by his own quirks and idiosyncrasies- however, they're a part of his process, and he knows it. If you go back to his dark lil room, it was void of _any_ distractions, save for monitor light. He also probably _tried_ placing his computer anywhere else, but being too close to any particular wall probably got to him and his OCD. Leaving the exact center as the ideal place to work. It's a very surface level sort of reasoning, since he easily could have _set up a comfortable workspace in that spot instead of just the computer,_ but applying that kind of thinking doesn't make you stupid or shallow. Hell, his admission of similarity to Kira, was simply because "I know my bullshit when I _see_ my bullshit". He takes a few irrational leaps, but not without cause. It's just, operating like slime mold. Extend your tendrils, and only follow those that latch onto something tangible.
..and I mean, how efficient is slime mold?
That is a very interesting analysis
Also interesting to note when he gets the bag he pulls it from the back row so nobody else would touch it. And its a diffrent flavor than all the rest
Every time we watch you for new series I say code Geass and it's literally a psych major battle tactics major and compelling character study on the tolls of abuse and puppet power structure... I think it's right up both your alleys, am I wrong?
I'll solve equations with my right hand and write names with my left I'll take a potato chip and eat it
Lighat yagami
Every time I see this episode, it's impossible for me not to say "AND EAT IT!!" just as dramatically as Light.
Lights primary goal is to get close to L at all costs to get rid of him so what may look like a mistake that's getting him closer to the case its actually kinda of what he wants at the same time. Btw I loving your reactions to this amazing anime :D
The "Walter Light 😲" moment was so funny
If you like Death Note, then you would love Code Geass
If you like the psychological aspect, you’ll love the anime “Monster”, it’s a classic!
I have already seen this anime but i love to see you guys break it down and give your educated guess' on what is going on. Seeing reactions like this is like i'm watching the anime for the first time again, so thanks for reacting.
That potato chip made anime history 🤣
Ryuk is just so awesome. I love him
Light and Walter have the exact same personality type by most metrics I find, which is interesting to think about in the "humans just keep telling the same stories over and over again" sense
They're both narcissists
If you told me one of the most iconic scenes in this anime would be the main character eating a potato chip before I started the show, I wouldn't believe you. But it is. And the scene is amazing
Naruto : I will become Hokage, BELIEVE IT
Light : I'll take potato chip and EAT IT
Me: I'll take an overused comment and REPEAT IT
Yeah, Ray penbver is really the first instance of Lights Ego getting in the way of his intellect. He just assumes that he is the absolute smartest person in the world and that no one can outhinkl him - and he enjoys killing with a godd plan. His watching ray Penber die was really just a "Oh, yeah, just executed that flawlessly, let me watch the end"
I feel like he already let his ego get in the way in episode 2.
Lights hubris just grows throughout each episode
Ah, the scene! Finally!
You guys absolutely need to watch Monster after death note, it is 100x better and has one of the best villains ever written in fiction
There aren't and probably won't be many scenes as iconic as the potato chip one.
19:13 Kira and L's first conversation: they both know the other is listening, so these indirect statements are directed at each other.
You guys should watch Erased. It's a lot like Death Note when it comes to mystery and intensity.
There is NO stopping this detective genius in both Light and L! I mean like Ryuuk said: Things are getting very interesting! Haha thank you Kenny and Montana for reacting! And I cannot wait for more Death Note and when Attack on Titan's unfortunate final chapter begins. Thanks and keep bringing the great content! 🙌🙏
I love how triumphantly the "KENNY GENIUS COUNTER: 1" comes up after Montana having so many already :p
Omg he ate a potato chips 🤯
Light's ego had always been his biggest weakness.
I once wrote an essay comparing L to Sherlock Holmes. Of course, aside from the magnitude of the typical crimes the two solve there's obviously a disparity, I mean how do you even deal with a Kira?
Gurren Lagann or Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
Light is smart. But the reality is that L is way smarter than Light. But Light has the unfair advantage of the Death Note.
L is just older and more experienced.
I want OVA when Light and Ryuk is playing Video Game together
If I were Mr. Yagami, I would request that the only feed of the cameras in the bathroom be sent to my phone and my phone alone or something like that. Ain't nobody else seeing even a second of that footage.
Id really recommend steins;gate as a series. watched it twice and its just amazing. And you can either just watch steins;gate or it and its sequel series steins;gate zero (well not really sequel but explaining that would spoil a lot)
watch code geass next. A bit different, but it is the most similar to death note
We're getting closer and closer to my favorite line in episode 14
Is that the one about doing something to a girl?
@@freakcanI think it is. For the first time in his life…
What do you guys think about all the fans of the show that are on Light's side?
It's fine to root for Light because it's entertaining to see him win, but he's obviously a garbage human being. Some Light fans will tear you to shreds if you say you don't like him though, and at the end of the day it's just fiction.
I finally caught up on Season 6 of My Hero. I would love to see you guys watch it. Man that will be long lol
I'm probably very silly for even mentioning this, but I would love a reaction to Serial Experiments Lain. Only 13 episodes, and it's one of the original, "Mindfuck" Animes. Weirdly prophetic about technology, and partially inspired, "The Matrix".
...sadly, for views, I know that if you want a Mindfuck anime, the smart move is probably Evangelion.
Cowboy Bebop would be a good one to react to
I fucking love L
Light said episodes ago that his real agenda was getting close to L so that he could eliminate him
Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but the broadcast scene when light says interpol is being stupid by announcing such news since already fbi agents have been killed was a slip off isn’t it? If I am not wrong, fbi agents have been killed wasn’t a public knowledge. Although all members involved in Kira case including JTF and other police forces knew and hence resigned later on, there was no reason for light to know this information at this point. He wasn’t actively involved in Kira case or know anyone who’ll give him this information…. Why L missed it????
Loved your reactions so much! Always excited to see your reactions next! ♥️♥️♥️
Killing the fiance did put him at risk of being caught but he had to. She was going to feed them the information regardless. Also, she was going to feed them more specific information than what they ended up getting anyways. She would have told them it was whoever Penber was investigating on the bus.
Y’all need to do a reaction to opening 2 itself when you get to it
Calling his arrogance
but HOW did he get that little tv in the bag of chips without the cameras seeing it?
i think this is one of the biggest plot armors in the entire story.
He obviously put it in and resealed it outside the home. Like how he tested the pyrotechnics and circuiting for his false bottom drawer in an abandoned building.
I knew this show would be Montanas exact type of show. So glad you finally watching it
It’s time for the quotes !! It’s time !! It’s time !!
PLEASE WATCH MONSTER (Anime) NEXT!!!! Its one of the best fiction stories in anime. Its like a murder mystery case/ crinimal case/ serial killers show. Its simply amazing.
Next show you watch should be code Geass
Madoka Magica! Short 12-episode magical girl thriller. It also has a couple famous moments that should get lots of views. It's #5 on r/anime's best of 2010's and #3 on NHK's domestic 2017 poll. Avoid spoilers.
Potato 🥔Chip!
code lyoko and code geass
I'll click on a Letts React video... AND LIKE IT!
Funny how you guys thought of this episode's ending as a cliffhanger, when it's actually meant as closure.
Please react to Attack on titan
They have
morning, also, Watabe gave everyone cept for chief 2 scoops. Chief get's 3 scoops, so random, so funny.
Also if you wanna know why he holds his phone like that it's to minimize the possibility of sickness or poisoning by having ur hands on something, I would assume he treats letters in a similar way.
My hero is a really fun show
Jujutsu Kaisen would be so interesting for y’all to explore, I can imagine which characters you’ll like the most🤭
oh no, i NEED next ep now pls
