I don’t see how the record matters (that much) because you could argue the worst team LBJ faced in the finals (prob the 2011 Mavericks) were at least as good as the best team Jordan faced (97-98 Jazz). Like all of the advanced metrics that flatten out era like win shares and VORP (value over replacement player) have them dead even. The difference is Jordan probably guarded his position better but LBJ is more versatile (interesting defensive win shares on that) and LBJ is considerably more efficient but Jordan seems to have a more appealing eye test. The Lakers have played literally the easiest schedule in the NBA so far. 4 out of 5 teams they have played are BELOW 500. Ironically the two bonafide playoff teams they played they lost to. I don’t see how the record matters (that much) because you could argue the worst team LBJ faced in the finals (prob the 2011 Mavericks) were at least as good as the best team Jordan faced (97-98 Jazz). Like all of the advanced metrics that flatten out era like win shares and VORP (value over replacement player) have them dead even. The difference is Jordan probably guarded his position better but LBJ is more versatile (interesting defensive win shares on that) and LBJ is considerably more efficient but Jordan seems to have a more appealing eye test. Cats are making it seem like Jordan is way up here and cats are just fluffing LBJ up.

The Lakers have played literally the easiest schedule in the NBA so far. 4 out of 5 teams they have played are BELOW 500. Ironically the two bonafide playoff teams they played they lost to.
