As a massive fan of Def Leppard I was super lucky and grateful they never quit in the 90’s and early 2000’s. I got to be front row at so many killer shows where Viv and Phil would just crush the early stuff and especially the extended guitar solos on Rocket. They are just so damned good live.

I love the members of Def Leppard to death. My favorite band The Warning played a fest before them. Def Leppard members heard them and asked the girls to open a couple shows for them. After the last show the guys met with the girls for a while and gave them some advice and what pitfalls to watch out for. Rick Allen then asked if he could come back to their green room for a while and he sat there and discussed things to watch out for on the road. This happened about 5 years ago when the girls just starting doing big shows. What a great bunch of guys to do this for 3 girls 18 and under at the time.

I've always felt that High N' Dry is objectively their best album, but I also have a lot of emotional attachment to Hysteria, which depending on the day, may rank it higher in my list. Hysteria was the first cassette I ever bought with my own money; Sugar was one of the first songs I ever learned to play on guitar; and a few more "firsts" happened with this album. ;-)

Another brilliant show. When Rick first appeared after the accident, it was Monster Of Rock. Download came later. The crowd gave him such a reception that was one of the loudest things that I have ever heard from a crowd. I don't know how anybody can compare the Def Leppard sound to AC/DC on any album. They are distinctly different and cannot be confused.

I hear you Eddie - sometimes we don't know a good thing when we first hear it. The very first time I heard Metallica was in the mid-late 80's, sitting in the Tacoma Dome waiting for Mötley Crüe to start, and the song "Master of Puppets" starts as background music during change over. My friend turns to me and says, "this is the new song from that Metallica band." So I listen for a bit, and I shake my head in disinterest because it seemed too pretentious to me. Less than a year later, I'm getting into Suicidal Tendencies and another friend gives me "Master of Puppets" (on tape), and when "Battery" kicked in, I totally lost it. I was so hooked on them I bought their first three albums as fast as I could!

Piss poor top 6 that shows their ages. H&D and Pyro were great but as far as best songs each album after had some of their greatest songs. It kind of shows that these guys are longing for the old days and do not have a grasp on the rest of the band's discography. Their B side Retroactive was a great album. Adrenalize and Euphoria rocked. Slang not so much and X was ok but their self titled album in 2015/16 had some of their best songs. And Diamond is no slouch. All around a great career for a great band, not just early stuff.
