First off, he purchased century-old ivory, and it can be lawfully imported if proven to not come from illegal sources or methods. Secondly, not all ivory comes from hunted/poached animals. There are actual places that acquire ivory from already deceased animals. Also, fyi, not all ivory comes from elephants.
