(네.) 먼저 여호와 하나님이 사탄에게 어떤 질문을 했는지 살펴보자. “네가 어디서 왔느냐”라는 말씀은 직설적이지 않으냐? 숨겨진 다른 뜻이 있느냐? (없습니다.) 순수한 질문일 뿐 다른 속셈이나 불순물이 전혀 없다. 만약 내가 너희에게 “네가 어디서 왔느냐?”라고 물으면 너희는 어떻게 답할 것이냐? 답하기 어려운 질문이냐? 너희는 두루 돌아 여기저기 다녀왔다고 답할 것이냐? (아닙니다.) 너희는 이렇게 대답하지 않을 것이다. 그렇다면 하나님의 물음에 이런 식으로 대답하는 사탄을 보고 어떤 느낌이 드느냐? (참 터무니없고 간사하다고 느껴집니다.) 나는 어떻게 느꼈는지 아느냐? 나는 이 구절을 볼 때마다 혐오감이 든다. 이건 말도 안 되는 소리이기 때문이다! 사탄은 하나님의 질문에 대답을 한 것이냐? 이 말은 대답이 아니다. 결과가 없다. 하나님 질문에 대한 대답이 아니다. “땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다”, 이 구절에서 무엇을 알 수 있느냐? 사탄은 대체 어디서 온 것이냐? 너희는 그 답을 얻었느냐? (얻지 못했습니다.) 이것이 사탄 간계의 ‘교묘함’이다. 그 누구도 사탄이 무슨 말을 했는지 알 길이 없다. 다 듣고 나서도 무슨 말을 했는지 알 수 없는데, 사탄은 대답을 끝내고 스스로 훌륭하게 답했다고 여긴다. 너희는 어떻게 생각하느냐? 혐오스럽지 않으냐? (그렇습니다.) 이제 이 말을 혐오하게 되었구나. 사탄은 직접적으로 말하지 않으며 상대가 갈피를 못 잡고 영문을 모르게 만든다. 어떨 때는 다른 속셈이 있다. 사탄은 자신의 본질과 본성에 지배받기 때문에 입을 열면 이런 식으로 말이 나올 때도 있다. 오랜 시간 생각해 말하는 것이 아니고 자연스럽게 드러내는 것이다. 네가 사탄에게 어디서 왔느냐고 물으면 그것은 장황하게 대답하여 어디서 왔는지 도저히 이해할 수가 없게 만든다. 너희 중에도 이런 식으로 이야기하는 사람이 있느냐? (네.) 어떻게 이야기하느냐? (네.) 사탄의 추악한 모습과 본질을 아주 명확히 보여 준다. 사탄이 하나님과 싸우고, 하나님의 뒤를 쫓아다니는 목적은 하나님이 하려고 하는 모든 사역을 무너뜨리고, 하나님이 얻기를 원하는 사람을 점령하고 통제하기 위해서다. 사탄은 하나님이 얻기를 원하는 사람을 모두 멸해 버리거나 자신이 가져 이용하려 한다. 이것이 사탄의 목적이다. 그렇다면 하나님은 어떻게 했느냐? 이 구절에는 하나님의 간단한 한 마디만 나오고 하나님이 어떻게 행했는지에 대한 내용은 없다. 그러나 너희도 보았듯이 사탄의 행함과 말에 대한 기록은 더욱 많다. 아래 구절에서 여호와가 사탄에게 “네가 어디서 왔느냐”라고 묻자 사탄은 어떻게 대답했느냐? 이 두 구절은 모두 하나님과 사탄의 대화로, 하나님이 무슨 말씀을 했고 사탄이 어떤 말을 했는지 기록되어 있다. 하나님의 말씀은 많지 않고 매우 간단했다. 이 간단한 말씀에서 하나님의 거룩함을 볼 수 있느냐? 쉽지 않다고 대답하는 사람도 있을 것이다. 그렇다면 사탄의 대답에서 사탄의 추악함을 볼 수 있느냐? (네.) 먼저 여호와 하나님이 사탄에게 어떤 질문을 했는지 살펴보자. “네가 어디서 왔느냐”라는 말씀은 직설적이지 않으냐? 숨겨진 다른 뜻이 있느냐? (없습니다.) 순수한 질문일 뿐 다른 속셈이나 불순물이 전혀 없다. 만약 내가 너희에게 “네가 어디서 왔느냐?”라고 물으면 너희는 어떻게 답할 것이냐? 답하기 어려운 질문이냐? 너희는 두루 돌아 여기저기 다녀왔다고 답할 것이냐? (아닙니다.) 너희는 이렇게 대답하지 않을 것이다. 그렇다면 하나님의 물음에 이런 식으로 대답하는 사탄을 보고 어떤 느낌이 드느냐? (참 터무니없고 간사하다고 느껴집니다.) 나는 어떻게 느꼈는지 아느냐? 나는 이 구절을 볼 때마다 혐오감이 든다. 이건 말도 안 되는 소리이기 때문이다! 사탄은 하나님의 질문에 대답을 한 것이냐? 이 말은 대답이 아니다. 결과가 없다. 하나님 질문에 대한 대답이 아니다. “땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다”, 이 구절에서 무엇을 알 수 있느냐? 사탄은 대체 어디서 온 것이냐? 너희는 그 답을 얻었느냐? (얻지 못했습니다.) 이것이 사탄 간계의 ‘교묘함’이다. 그 누구도 사탄이 무슨 말을 했는지 알 길이 없다. 다 듣고 나서도 무슨 말을 했는지 알 수 없는데, 사탄은 대답을 끝내고 스스로 훌륭하게 답했다고 여긴다. 너희는 어떻게 생각하느냐? 혐오스럽지 않으냐? (그렇습니다.) 이제 이 말을 혐오하게 되었구나. 사탄은 직접적으로 말하지 않으며 상대가 갈피를 못 잡고 영문을 모르게 만든다. 어떨 때는 다른 속셈이 있다. 사탄은 자신의 본질과 본성에 지배받기 때문에 입을 열면 이런 식으로 말이 나올 때도 있다. 오랜 시간 생각해 말하는 것이 아니고 자연스럽게 드러내는 것이다. 네가 사탄에게 어디서 왔느냐고 물으면 그것은 장황하게 대답하여 어디서 왔는지 도저히 이해할 수가 없게 만든다. 너희 중에도 이런 식으로 이야기하는 사람이 있느냐? (네.) 어떻게 이야기하느냐? (불분명하고 모호하게 말하며 정확한 답을 주지 않습니다.) 이런 대화법을 어떻게 설명할 수 있겠느냐? 성동격서(聲東擊西) 식으로 진위를 구분 못 하게 만든다고 할 수 있지 않으냐? 이는 마치 어떤 이가 자신이 어제 어디에 있었는지 다른 사람에게 알리고 싶지 않을 때 하는 말과 같다. 네가 그에게 “어제 어디 갔었어요? 어제 당신을 봤는데요.”라고 물었는데, 그가 “어제요, 정말 피곤했어요!”라며 직접적으로 대답하지 않는다. 그가 너의 말에 대답을 했느냐? 대답은 했다. 하지만 원하는 답을 주지는 않았다. 이것이 바로 화법의 ‘교묘함’이다. 너는 늘 그의 뜻이 무엇인지 짐작할 수 없으며, 그가 하는 말의 근원과 속셈을 알 수 없다. 또한 그가 무엇을 피하려는 건지 알 수 없다. 그의 마음속에는 다른 꿍꿍이가 있기 때문이다. 이런 것을 음험하다고 한다. 너희도 자주 이런 식으로 말하느냐? 다음 구절을 보도록 하자. 사탄은 또 여호와께 다음과 같이 대답했다. “욥이 어찌 까닭 없이 하나님을 경외하리이까”. 사탄은 욥에 대한 여호와의 평가에 적의를 담아 공격하기 시작했다. “주께서 그와 그 집과 그 모든 소유물을 산울로 두르심이 아니니이까”. 이는 여호와가 욥에게 한 일들에 대한 사탄의 인식과 평가이다. 사탄은 다음과 같이 평가했다. “주께서 그 손으로 하는바를 복되게 하사 그 소유물로 땅에 널리게 하셨음이니이다 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 모든 소유물을 치소서 그리하시면 정녕 대면하여 주를 욕하리이다”. 늘 불분명하고 모호하게 말하던 사탄이 여기서는 명확하게 말했다. 그러나 이 말은 여호와 하나님, 즉 하나님 자신에 대한 공격이자 모독이며 반항인 것이다. 사탄의 이런 말을 듣고 나니 너희는 어떠하냐? 반감이 드느냐? 사탄의 속셈이 보이느냐? 먼저, 사탄은 욥이 ‘하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠났다’는 여호와의 평가를 부정했다. 그리고 사탄은 욥의 모든 언행, 즉 여호와를 향한 욥의 경외심을 부정했다. 이는 사탄이 참소하고 있는 것이 아니냐? 사탄은 여호와가 행한 것과 말씀한 것을 참소하고 부정하고 의심하였다. 그는 믿지 않았던 것이다. “당신 말씀이 그러해도, 왜 내게는 그렇게 보이지 않나이까? 욥에게 그리 복을 내려 주시는데 그가 어찌 당신을 경외하지 않겠나이까?” 이는 하나님의 행사를 부정하는 것이 아니냐? 참소, 부정, 모독이 담긴 이 말은 공격적이지 않으냐? 이 말은 사탄의 마음속 생각이 진실로 드러난 것이 아니냐? 방금 “땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다”라는 말과는 완전히 양상이 다르다. 이 말 한 마디에서 사탄이 마음속에 품은 하나님에 대한 태도, 하나님을 경외하는 욥에 대한 증오심이 확연히 보인다. 그때는 사탄의 악랄함과 사악한 본성이 완전히 드러난 것이다. 사탄은 하나님을 경외하는 자, 악에서 떠난 자를 증오하고, 여호와가 복을 준 자는 더욱 증오한다. 사탄은 이 기회를 빌려 하나님이 손수 인도해 키운 욥을 해하려 했다. 그래서 다음과 같이 말했다. “주께서 욥이 주를 경외하며 악에서 떠났다고 하시나 저는 그렇게 보지 않나이다.” 사탄은 갖은 수단으로 여호와를 진노케 했고 시험했다. 또한, 어떻게든 여호와 하나님에게서 욥을 넘겨받아 마음대로 다루며 우롱하고 해하려 했다. 이 기회를 틈타 하나님이 보기에 의인이자 순전한 자를 파멸시키려 했다. 사탄은 충동적으로 이런 마음을 먹은 것이냐? 아니다. 사탄의 이런 마음은 이미 오래된 것이다. 하나님이 역사하고 누군가를 보살피고 감찰하면, 사탄은 바로 그 뒤를 따라간다. 하나님이 누군가를 마음에 들어 하면 사탄은 그 뒤를 쫓아가서 살펴본다. 그리고 하나님이 그 사람을 얻고자 하면, 사탄은 있는 힘을 다해 훼방 놓는다. 갖가지 사악한 방식을 동원해 시험하고 방해하며 하나님 사역을 파괴하여 오직 자신만 아는 숨겨진 목적을 이루려 한다. 사탄의 목적은 무엇이겠느냐? 사탄은 하나님이 어떤 사람도 얻지 못하게 하고, 하나님이 얻기를 원하는 사람을 자기가 얻고자 한다. 그리고 그를 점령하고 통제하고 장악해서 자신을 경배하게 하고 함께 악행을 저지르게 하려 한다. 이것이 사탄의 음험한 속내가 아니겠느냐? 평소 너희는 사탄을 얼마나 사악하고 얼마나 나쁜지 종종 말하지만 직접 목도한 적이 있더냐? 사람의 나쁨만 봤지 진짜 사탄이 얼마나 나쁜지 본 적이 없다. 하지만 욥의 이야기에서 사탄의 나쁨을 보았느냐? (네.) 사탄의 추악한 모습과 본질을 아주 명확히 보여 준다. 사탄이 하나님과 싸우고, 하나님의 뒤를 쫓아다니는 목적은 하나님이 하려고 하는 모든 사역을 무너뜨리고, 하나님이 얻기를 원하는 사람을 점령하고 통제하기 위해서다. 사탄은 하나님이 얻기를 원하는 사람을 모두 멸해 버리거나 자신이 가져 이용하려 한다. 이것이 사탄의 목적이다. 그렇다면 하나님은 어떻게 했느냐? 이 구절에는 하나님의 간단한 한 마디만 나오고 하나님이 어떻게 행했는지에 대한 내용은 없다. 그러나 너희도 보았듯이 사탄의 행함과 말에 대한 기록은 더욱 많다. 아래 구절에서 여호와가 사탄에게 “네가 어디서 왔느냐”라고 묻자 사탄은 어떻게 대답했느냐? (여전히 “땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다”라고 했습니다.) 여전히 같은 답이다. 이 말이 사탄의 좌우명이나 대표 어록이 되기라도 한 것이냐? 사탄이 증오스럽지 않으냐? 한 번만 해도 될 이 혐오스러운 말을 왜 매번 되풀이하겠느냐? 이는 사탄의 본성이 변하지 않음을 증명한다. 사탄의 추악한 면모는 그 스스로 숨긴다고 숨길 수 있는 것이 아니다. 사탄이 하나님의 물음에도 이러한데 사람을 대할 때는 어떻겠느냐! 사탄은 하나님을 두려워하거나 경외하지 않고, 하나님께 복종하지도 않는다. 그러니 감히 하나님 앞에서 방자히 굴고, 매번 똑같은 말로 하나님 물음에 무성의하게 대답하고 대응하여 하나님을 미혹하려는 것이다. 이것이 바로 사탄의 추한 면모다. 사탄은 하나님의 전능과 권병을 믿지 않고, 하나님의 권세 아래에 순종하는 것을 달가워하지 않는다. 사탄은 계속 하나님께 반항하고 하나님의 행사를 공격함으로써 하나님의 행사를 파괴하려 든다. 이것이 사탄의 사악한 목적이다.
