Watching that pained me man lol, im a finishing manager at a joinery company so I know my stuff. 1st sand the chrome with 180 sandpaper then wash it with soapy water, 2nd a coat of etching primer (this primer adheres to the chrome) normal primer on chrome will peel/chip away in time, 3 lightly sand the etch primer then coat it with standard grey/white primer (3 coats every 30 mins with light sanding in between) 4 sand smooth and apply paint colour and wait 4 hrs to dry, 5 a coat of clear top coat lacquer to seal in the paint and leave a shiny finish. DONE.

Rather than just yanking it out get a slim plastic removal tool. Slide it between grill and bumper in front of each tab and they will pop. Work along until all are free. Yanking will break it eventually.

Just a tip for next time mate. Sand it down beforehand then apply thin coats of primer, doesn’t have to be all grey after first coat and same for your base coat. That will help illuminate some of the cracks you were seeing and help it stick. Also I would have applied some clear after just to be extra safe. Looks pretty good tho mate

If your not gonna prep properly plus use plastic primer to stop it reacting and cracking etc on the front and rear chrome just wrap them. Wrapped my Astra parts. Looks better and is easier.

Exactly mate, as a professional paint sprayer should never spray that chrome strip on the boot strip, am seeing everyone do it but it'll just peel after half a year or so

Gotta be the worst job I've ever seen 🤦‍♂️ you need to scotch the grill before any primer goes on and sand the primer before paint. Shocking job that 😂
